I cannot but agree with all you say, but the CVs are not going to give the Arjun-Purvi pair a decent burial. Not at all. The two of them were there at the end of PR today, smiling for all they were worth, and warning us, if I heard them right, of one hour mahaepisodes of PR for all of next week (?)
And Purvi, exactly as I had predicted, is going to take up the task of converting Soham Dada and making him see the light. After achieving this lofty objective, Balaji with nominate her for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize.
Shyamala Aunty.
Thank you kalapi di! :) I may miss out on PR epis and not miss much, but 2-3 days off the forum and I miss all the friendly banter and great posts by you all! :)
I loved the post by you and Shyamala aunty about Arjun! I do not understand the need for CV's to morph each man in PR as merely a shadow of his lover, but who starts off with his own identity in the show and makes us like him for that. Arjun has lost all of his initial AK arrogance, charm and indepent way of thinking and become just a little slave in the hands of Purvi. I know of many cases where love takes over every logical thinking cell of your brain, however, once betrayed, you would expect the reality to sink in. Arjun, shows no such realization of his circumstances. I do not know how they will redeem his character anymore, unless by showing some spark of his old self back and finally making it work with Ovi or leaving both behind and simply moving away to Canada.Purvi, she did get off on a wrong note for most people by being this copy of Archana with her interfering behavior and then being an obnoxious employee who has the audacity to speak in a most inappropriate way with the boss who pays her monthly income. But however, she did have a soft streak and was shown to be possessing of all the characteristics a lead of a show has, and hence, I did like her in the beginning. I liked that she could stand up for herself, unlike Archana, and she was educated, had a strong will power and was independent in her thinking. But alas, CV's can't hold up such a facade for long so they went ahead and destroyed her too. Now, all she is, is a young woman too old for her thinking, an over-smart kid ( I hate those ones the most), and a bit too goody two shoes which borders on UNREAL and annoying. Both characters, if brought together again, make no sense anymore. They both have destroyed any "love" that they claimed to have for each other. Arjun's dependent and blind love is no love at all, and Purvi's treatment of this love is no love at all either. This jodi, as such, is beyond repair in my eyes. But well, CV's will play this card and keep going at it.I loved Kools post on why Archana should also face the drums for her actions! Very well explained! :)
