PART LOVE ARVI
DK house.
Breakfast table. DK is looking at Arjun.
DK :- How much did you drink last night?
Arjun :- Not enough.
DK :- Purvi...Manav told me.
Arjun :- She lied to me.
DK :- No, she didn't tell you the truth. She couldn't, she is very young and just received shocking news. How would you want her to react?
Arjun :- Not shocked enough I guess, she could plan and get him out of prison.
DK :- What would you want her to do? Let her brother go to jail. Ok, not let's assume I killed someone, would you let me go to jail.
Arjun :- Of course not. I would never let my father go to jail.
DK smiles at him, Arjun realizes.
DK :- I am not saying Purvi is right but I am also not saying Purvi is wrong. Arjun, when it comes to family there is usually no black or white, right or wrong. There is only grey and right now Purvi is in a grey area. She did what she thought was right.
Arjun is quiet.
DK :- Do you really think she didn't try telling you. Trust me, son she would have and I am very sure when she did try you were either too busy to listen or didn't even want to hear his name.
Arjun remembers in the office, Purvi wanted to say something but he had to go for a meeting.
Arjun :- You are right dad, I just can't hear his name. It makes me so angry, I just feel like punching his face.
DK :- I understand, but you have to decide now. Which is stronger? Your love for Purvi or your hatred for her brother.
Arjun is deep into thinkng.
DK :- What is love?
Arjun :- Dad…
DK :- Love is me? I am touched my son.
DK smiles at his son. Arjun is giving DK a boyish smile.
DK :- Love is not selfish, love is understanding.
To love is to be with the person,
Through hard times,
Through easy times,
And to endure whatever comes,
Together and not alone.
Love, is always patient and kind,
It doesn't know jealousy,
It only knows how to give and not how to receive.
Love doesn't keep track of what is wrong,
It forgives, and it is not revengeful.
Love, never fails,
It protects, it takes cares, and it stands by,
The person it's heart beats for.
Arjun is in shock.
DK :- Your mother told me that. Arjun, let me ask you something. If the tables were turn, do you think Purvi would leave you alone?
Arjun is feeling guilty; he is looking at his plate.
DK :- Son, if you really love her, don't make her choose between her brother and her love, it would kill her to make that decision.
DK stands up.
DK :- and Son, go clean up and stop drinking would you. You are probably the first Devdas who didn't lose his love and is drinking.
Arjun smiles at his father.
DK :- I know you will make the right decision. Just make sure you put yourself in Purvi's shoes before making it. Think how Purvi must be feeling right now.
Arjun is looking at his phone; the wallpaper is a picture of him and Purvi together.
The D clan house.
Manav is bringing coffee for Archana.
Archana :- I will drink it later Manav.
Manav :- Please drink, I can't watch you like this. For me, drink.
Archana drinks the coffee. She gives Manav the cup.
Archana :- Am I selfish?
Manav :- No, my Archana can never be selfish. She only knows how to give.
Archana :- but I can't give Purvi away. I know she wants to talk to them, to get to know them and spent time with them. I know she has a right, but I don't want her to Manav. I can't let her Manav. I don't care if they are good or bad. I only want her to be my daughter. I can't lose my child again.
Archana is crying and Manav is hugging her tightly.
Archana :- I have lost Soham. I never got to see Tej and Ovi grow up and Sachin to see him grow up and lose him almost killed me Manav. You know Manav, when you took all of them and left it was so hard. Every day was a struggle, but I had Purvi. She was only mine. Her parents were dead and they told me her parents were also orphans and didn't have anyone. So, I knew no one can take her from me and for 18 years no one did and we were happy. I gave her all the love in this world, Manav. I can't watch her leave. She is my baby Manav, mine. Just because I didn't give her birth it doesn't mean she is not my daughter right.
Manav kisses Archana's forehead. He holds her face lovingly in his hand.
Manav :- She is your daughter and a mother and daughter bond is forever. Nobody can take her from you. I promise. I won't let them.
Archana lies down on Manav's lap. She is crying.
Arjun comes to the D clan house.
Arjun :- Can I talk to you?
Arjun looks around. He sees everyone is there.
Arjun :- Alone.
Purvi :- Sure, come with me.
Purvi takes Arjun on top to the balcony. Arjun looks at Purvi. He can see that she has been crying the whole night. Her eyes are red. Arjun feels bad, she must have not slept the whole night, he thinks. I should have not let her be alone. God, what was I thinking?
Arjun :- I am sorry, I shouldn't have left you like that yesterday.
Purvi :- It's ok. I understand…I am not…
Arjun :- Can you let me talk?
Purvi smiles at him. Arjun takes out a paper from his pocket.
Arjun :- I love you Purvi for so many reasons. I can't tell you all but here are a few;
I love you because you are the first person, who showed me that there is more to life then work and business,
I love you because you are one of the very few people in this world, who can make me smile,
I love you because you understand me. I love you because with you I don't need to be someone else; I can be me I don't need to act,
I love you because you know how to calm me down when I am angry,
I love you because you are patient, humble and kind put that with my attitude of arrogant, bossy and know it all we are prefect,
I love you because when I am with you, I feel I can fly,
I love you because you make my heart beat faster every time I see you,
I love you because you are the most beautiful person I have ever met,
Suddenly it starts to rain.
Arjun is looking at the sky …
Purvi :- What is with you today? Let's go before we get wet.
Arjun :- Wait…I am not done. Oh god, no my paper is wet. This is not happening. Why does it have to rain now? Come on, already can't a guy get a break in his life.
Arjun looks at Purvi.
Arjun tells himself: - Come on you can do this. It is easy. Just do it. Come on.
Purvi is amused.
Arjun drops to his knees. Purvi is shocked. Arjun takes out a ring from his pocket.
Arjun :- I love you because you thought me to love the rain but the reason I love you the most is because
I am who I am because of you,
You changed me,
You are in every breathe I take you,
You are in every dream I have dreamt,
You are the reason I am alive.
Purvi is stunted; she can't believe what is going on.
Arjun :- So, Miss Purvi I am very sorry about yesterday and I promise you I will accept your family and that brother of yours. Also,
I promise to be with you every step of our lives,
I promise to give you my shoulder when you cry,
I promise to love you every second, every minute and every day for the rest of my life,
Mostly I promise to be with you through every storm that will come through our lives.
Will you let me make you happy for the rest of our lives, the way you have made me? Will you marry me?
Purvi is speechless. She is looking at Arjun, knelling in front of her asking her hand in marriage. Raining heavily now. She can't believe what is going on.
