Archana grabs hold of Purvi. Archana is in denial.
Archana :- What is he talking about? It's a lie, they are lying to you. Don't believe them. (Archana is crying and holding Purvi). They tried kidnapping you for money and when that failed they are telling you that you are their daughter so, that they can escape from prison and ask money from your father. It is a lie, right. Archana collapse, Manav grabs hold of her. Archana is on the floor crying hysterically, Tej is hugging her. Everyone is shocked. Purvi stares at Grandpa. He smirks at her.
Soham :- Purvi, I have to tell you something. This family of yours are very filmy, too much crying. You know like in the hindi serial.
Sachin :- Shut up and get lost from here.
Soham :- I am talking to my sister.
Sachin :- First, she is my sister. She called me dada first. You appear out of know where and suddenly she is yours. Listen to me carefully, I won't let you come here and confuse her with your lies.
Soham :- Vah re Vah, look here. Tell me something Sachin…Wait I am confused. Now that Purvi is my sister and she is also your sister that means, you are my brother. (Soham puts his arms around Sachin's shoulder). But are you my elder or younger brother. You look elder than me, but the shirt you are wearing makes you look younger. I am confused. What is your age?
Purvi :- He is elder than you.
Soham :- Ok, then Sachin dada.
Sachin :- Don't you dare, say it again and I will hit you so hard you will forget you name.
Soham :- Try and see.
Grandpa :- Enough, Vishnu. Purvi pack your things, you are coming with us.
Manav :- What?
Archana is about to faint.
Grandpa :- Well, she is the heir of our family. Why would she stay with you?
Manav :- She is my daughter, my wife took care and brought her up for 18 years and now suddenly she is going to stay with you.
Grandpa: - For that we are very thankfully. (Grandpa looks at Archana), Archana if you tell me how much you spent taking care of her I will pay you.
Everyone is speechless; Varsha who is standing outside however, is not. She expected grandpa to do something like this. Arjun clutches is hand, he can't believe Purvi belongs to this family.
Manav :- YOU WILL PAY US. (Manav is unable to control is anger). Ok, you can.
Archana :- What? No, Manav you can't….Purvi is my life. She is everything to me. I can't live without her. She is my world; I can't live without my daughter. Please, Manav to something. Don't let them take my child away.
Seeing Manav and Archana, Soham looks away.
Manav :- You heard that, she is our world. You want to pay us, give us the whole world and you can take Purvi and go. Can you give us the whole world? No, right. So leave.
Grandpa :- It's a waste of time talking to you people. When Purvi wants to follow us, who are you to stop her.
Manav and Archana are looking at Purvi. Purvi wipes her tears and goes in front of Grandpa.
Purvi :- I have never said I want to come with you and I didn't ask you to come here. Just because I listen to you to save my brother that doesn't mean I will follow everything u say.
Grandpa:- Learn how to respect your elders and you will listen to me. I am the head of this family and you will do as I say. Understand.
Purvi :- No, you are not my family they are.
Grandpa :- My son brought you to this world.
Purvi :- They took care of me. They are my parents.
Grandpa :- So, is Harish and Meera.
Purvi is quiet.
Grandpa :- You are following us and that's final.
Purvi :- I am not leaving my family.
Grandpa :- That is not your family. We are.
Purvi :- No, you are not. You can never be my grandfather. Never, I rather die than say I am related to you. You kidnap people for a living and made my innocent brother become you. I will not follow you.
Grandpa becomes angry and is about to slap Purvi when Arjun grabs hold of his hand. Manav and Archana are shocked.
Arjun :- Don't you dare hit her. You don't have any rights. Only her parents can do that and she has made it very clear that Manav uncle and Archana aunty are her parents. Not you.
Arjun leaves Grandpa's hand.
Soham :- Touch my grandfather again and I promise you it will be the last thing you touch.
Arjun :- It was wrong to disrespect and elderly man but I will never let anyone harm my Purvi. Not even you. Understand.
Soham :- So, you really love my sister.
Arjun stares at Soham.
Purvi :- Dada, please leave.
Soham ;- but Purvi…
Purvi :- For me, if you really care about me, if you really love me, please leave.
Arjun is angry. He is staring at Purvi.
Soham :- You know I would do anything for you right. I will go, but if you change your mind and want to come live with us. You know where to find me. I am not leaving Mumbai without you. Soon, you will realize we are your family and they are not. Grandpa, come let's go. Purvi will join us soon. I know it.
Grandpa looks at Purvi.
Grandpa: - Until today, nobody has ever talked to me rudely. I have to say you are as brave as your father but you will pay for this. Nobody's walks away from this family and I will make sure you never do.
Varsha leaves before anyone can see her. Soham and Grandpa leave, Purvi goes to Archana.
Purvi :- Aai…
Archana :- When did you know?
Purvi :- A couple days back.
Archana :- In all that time you didn't find time to tell me.
Purvi :- I was confused aai, there was so much going on…I
Archana :- wanted to save you my brother. So, you didn't tell me because you were worried we wouldn't listen.
Purvi :- No, aai it is not like that. I…he…( Purvi remembers how Grandpa threaten her, no this is not the right time to tell them about Soham, I don't know what Grandpa will do if he finds out Soham belongs to them. Whatever, I do I have to think about it before I do it.)
Archana stands up.
Archana :- How do you know that they are your family. They could be lying.
Purvi is quiet.
Archana :- Manav, we should get someone to find out the truth. I know, Manav they are lying to her. They are using her. They haven't given her any prove…
Purvi :- I look like my mother.
Archana :- What?
Purvi goes to her beg and takes out Meera's picture and the police report on Harish and Meera's death. She gives the picture to Archana.
Purvi :- I hired a private investigator to find out about them, he found out where they lived. He got that picture from a neighbor. (Meera is holding Purvi in her arms and Harish is standing beside her, they are smiling and look very happy).
Archana looks at Purvi and at the picture, it is the same baby. It's Purvi. She used to carry Purvi the same way. Her mother, she does look like her mother. Archana is crying, she gives the picture to Arjun and goes to her room. Purvi follows, but Archana closes the room door and Purvi is standing outside crying.
