Dear ArVi-licious,

Thanks a lot, my dear. This apart, you have listed all the real howlers in PR yesterday so succinctly, but with admirable comprehensiveness.

dear shyamalaji,

wonderful post, it was just what i had in my mind...
the episode was hilarious and entirely stupid!!!
the smart sophisticated boss to mechanic... guess it'l give the viewers dyspepsia!!somehow v all knew that arjun wouldn't get a job he'd want but this???as archanaji said in her post, they totally butchered his character...

yes the aashirwaad scene was hilarious, i was like,"dude what r u thinking!"archana always said, aashna was her best friend, but the what she behaves towards her best friend's son is not acceptable.

purvi and arjun were sensible, supported each other well.
coming to d precap: is archana aii happy now?? she wanted someone like her manav for her daughter, i think the CV's r giving her just that...

P.S: that plastic arjun was carrying! goodness how did he get that!!!!

Dear Aishu,

I am so glad you enjoyed this impromptu post, and thanks for letting me know. I was far more exasperated than amused by the goings on yesterday, and I was myself rather surprised at how funny it had turned out to be in the end!

It is hard to find logic in the PR land. It has happened countless number of times.. so I dont even bother😆
Arjun's gesture of touching mom-in-law feet kinda turned me off too.. I thought it was funny and out of character.. and yes he need not behave like a pallu clad bahu 🤣 I like khadoos Arjun Kirloskar better.
and Arjun ending up as a mechanic didn't bother me much coz i haven't seen PR from before.. looks like they are recycling their own story🤔
I know it doesn't make any sense, as we have seen him hiring mechanics to have his car repaired..😆

Dear Ashu,

Thanks a lot.

This said, I am afraid I do not at all agree with your assessment of the Arjun-Archana scene. It made me feel distinctly queasy. If he had been my son, I would have given him a sharp talking to for having so little self-respect, and for behaving in such a submissive fashion to someone who treated him like dirt just the other day. Respect for elders is all right, but not making yourself into a doormat for them.

I am sure poor Rithwik would have felt the same mouthing these bizarre lines and making these out of character gestures. He does not, as was pointed out elsewhere here, touch DK's feet or seek his blessings when he leaves home. He does not even hug him till DK opens his arms. And that is his father whom he loves more than anyone else except Purvi.

This boy will fall at Archana's feet and seek her blessings, and say, when she does not bless him, that he does not mind since she did not kick his hands away? Have a heart, Ashu, how CAN we see Arjun doing such things?

Well, if Archana sees Arjun as the future Manav, God save Purvi!

Finally, the reference to Ovi's Urmila avatar is perfect! yes, we had a welcome break from her.

Nice post Shyamala..
saw the epi just now...as we have long weekend...could not watch it in regular time...finally managed to watch it..

i felt like i have seen some 80's movie in 30 mins today..

Arjun finally turned mechanic...i just hope to reach his goal only he will b in that profession, not longer...

Frm first part i felt, like Archana wanted to c Arjun...thr was guilt on her face..but she didnt wanted to show it off...or else, easily by hiding she could c him & go inside...but she just was thr..to c him going...
so now he sees her as his mom too😳...that i felt better & good...like Arjun said, she didnt give him ashirwad, but didnt even moved a bit, when he bended to give ashirwad...

Arvi convo was nice👍🏼...but Purvi shoult stop telling him to go back now...she should support & motivate him more...she very well knows, Archu will not allow them to marry unless he earns by himself...
so finally by precap, Archana sees Arjun as future Manav, who can take care of her Purvi...i hope she realises soon, that Arjun is only perfect for Purvi, not anyone else..

good today we didnt get glimpse of Ovi & her Urmila avatar😆

but nice epi..finally step is moved

Dear nalonynnej,

I see that you are back from that overseas assignment on which Karan Dhanjani had sent you, and I hope you had a very pleasant and productive time of it.

Thanks for agreeing with me about my latest. When I started out on it last night, after scanning some of the reactions set down in the Brief Update thread, I was sure I was going to be in a minority of one ! So I am pleasantly surprised to receive so much support, including from you. Thanks again.

Totally agree with this post. Firstly, the scene between Archana and Arjun was a bit too awkward. His whole interaction seemed like a sugar-coated attack towards her challenge. Please Arjun, don't compare your own wonderful mother to Archana! Ashna supported and guided you through life while Archana is demoting you to a fledgling. 👎🏼

I was literally laughing my head off throughout the entire mechanic scene. 🤣 Even before, I was surprised to see how all bosses were portrayed as condescending. I guess there's two ways to look at rejection; being under qualified or overqualified. Once Arjun reaches the garage, he automatically knows how to repair a six-cylinder automobile. 😆 I think the CVs forgot this was the very Arjun who couldn't repair his broken down car on the way to the Pune conference. I guess back in their Canada mansions, Manav must have taught him a thing or two about cars? 😕

Purvi seemed to be the only character with an inkling of sense today. She reassured Arjun that his position in the business world was due to his own work. Sure, being DK's son made the opportunities come quicker, but Arjun lived up to the tasks. In fact, he exceeded the expectation and devoted his life to work. Glad she's not on her mom's side for this one. 👍🏼

And now for a short rant to the CVs!

Dear CVs,

Forum members have already proposed such interesting tracks like Arjun working in Soham's office. When your viewers are offering you creative plot lines, why do you insist on feeding us the old, sour Arman track? I assure you it's not a track that gets better with age.

I hope you have an exceptional reason for repeating this story. Whether it be making Soham's entry or having Archana realize her foolishness (which only seems to occur after she sees history repeated before her own eyes), please prove to us in future episodes that the choice to make Arjun a mechanic was decisive and logical.

My dear Shyamala,

I have done a 180 degrees turn...post watching the episode...Nalonynnej has aptly summed up the feelings i went thru as i watched it...doormat Arjun...ugh...no ways...no comparison with Aashna and Archana, well put Nalonynnej...that scene does seem too meetha like you said Shyamala and now that i have seen the episode, your post all makes sense to me...😳.Y oh y cd he not just keep walking with just a nod of his head to Archana, what was the need to put himself down at her feet, and how come he did not get Sulo aaji's blessings? It was awful...
Yes, men are better when they are stronger and in character and I would hate for Arjun to lose his old self totally...you were so right and serves me right for writing without watching the episode...and oh the mechanic sense, no logic whatsoever, i was 🤣 when he just cleaned the oil guage wire and blew into another fuse part or something and started the car and it started, vah, what brilliance by the CVs...amazing...what a unique idea, no background as a mechanic and he was able to fix this 6 cylinder car...Loved Laurie's transformational locket post too, it was hilarious...

Dear bee5,

Congratulations on having thought of the mechanic's job for Arjun!

Your logic is impeccable, and I must confess that I never thought of it as possible. In fact, I questioned it vigorously when Jyoti unearthed the tip off about it. But then I had also initially nixed the idea that the CVs would send Arjun to live in a chawl, so my record in the matter of second guessing the CVs is abysmal!

I am glad you are on the same wavelength as I am wrt the Arjun-Archana encounter. I felt distinctly uncomfortable to see him making such a cake of himself, and if he had been my son, he would have caught it from me afterwards, good and proper!

Am I the only one LMHO🤣 today for finally knowing Arjun's new job? 😆 How can I tell you guys .. it is a different kind of kick/high you get when you exactly see what you thought!😆
I was so sure that the job would be that of a mechanic. Now I am kicking myself for not writing it on the forum yday 😆(of course, so that I could show off today😉).

I sooo lovvveee❤️ PR these days. For quite some days I am on a high since what I had been thinking is what is happening.🤓

BTW, the mechanic job that came to my thoughts was very simple. It had to be something keeping with the tradition of PR! 😆Archana gave the challenge to Arjun and quoted her love story with manav and her happiness when he was a mechanic, so the new job for Arjun had to be that of a mechanic,😆 with every logic thrown out of the window.

Coming to the episode, Archana-Arjun's aashirwad scene could have been done without. Of course they wanted to show Archana getting glimpses of Arjun slogging, taking her and her challenge seriously and trying his best to prove that he was sanskaari boy, worthy of Purvi, but that aashirward scene wasn't done well.
The problem with that scene was 1st it was too filmi and next was Sulo's presence. It looked weird that Arjun wanted Archana's blessing and not Sulo's. Yes, Sulo's blessing are always there for him and he knows it and so does she, but when he they show Arjun (physically) wanting Archana's blessings, then he should have very well shown that gesture towards Sulo as well.
Actually they shouldn't have brought Sulo in that scene. They could have kept her watching them from a distance, that would have been better.

Next was about Arjun's struggle and finally landing up with a mechanic's job. So, the only logic/explanation for such a job that the CVs tried to show was that he was tired of the people offering him job due to his surname or getting something in exchange of him being a Kirloskar son, so finally when he is offered a mechanic job, he doesn't say No. Given his educational background and experience *he* did not set out for the mechanic job himself, but just that he was offered the job.
But but but .. in that case, how come Arjun did not try and repair his car that broke a few months back enroute Pune for the conference? (Yeah, I know I shouldn't ask such questions)😆.

One contrast I saw was that while Archana was shown to 'watch' Arjun's struggles (and maybe even starting to melt), Purvi on the other hand was asking him to go back to his previous job, though she tried to encourage and clear his doubts that he was always capable and a hardworking individual.

BTW, Ms. Purvi hasn't still told Arjun about Ovi's offer of buying Arjun out! Is it delibrate so that they could use it for Ovi later on or have the CVs forgottten?

Dear Shyamala, Great Post!👏
I too like the same things from your post, as are already highlighted by Abhi.

@Laurie thanks for the laughs and don't doubt yourself- good post yesterday. Still be optimistic...tHe CV's can still redeem themselves. Remember Dallas they shot JR Ewing and made the whole season a dream when the audience was disappointed. You never know???

Yes, I do remember DALLAS ! You bring back memories from way back...:)...JR Ewing was such a powerful character, not in a nice way, but lot of impact...

Well, enough of Archana. I see that you liked the Arjun-Purvi conversation as much as I did; you would have seen my detailed comments on it. Apart from those, I love the way in which Purvi says "Arju..un", stretching out the syllables in a soft, pleading whisper.
It was there also when she drags him out of the water queue that morning. It is enormously endearing, but it is not the way a girl pleads with her lover. There is a strong maternal note to it; it is the way in which one coaxes and tries to persuade a recalcitrant but beloved child. It is obviously Asha's own contribution to Purvi's persona, and it is a very sweet one.

Finally, I can never understand why you folks keep calling Ovi 'lovely'. With that practically non-existent nose and the over luscious pout? Purvi is no real beauty, but she is ten times better looking than Ovi any day, even with that tiresome and unbecoming bump atop her head.Did you notice that when she had that grand scene with Sulochana, the bump was not there and she looked far better and younger. But when she gets to the park to meet Arjun, it is back!

Shyamala

Shayamala,
I have always loved how Arjun says "Purvi"... Whenver Rithvik calls her, it reflects the emotion of that particular scene. i have noticed it quite a few times. In recent days, near the tap scene, when Purvi is in tears, he just says "Purvi"..that one word shows his love, tenderness and regret that she is upset about how he is living. I think one of the best assets of Rithvik is his dialogue delivery and the emotions he puts into it. That is why his major scenes are so effective.
Yes, I dont think Ovi is a great beauty either. Quite a few times, she looks like a petulant, sulky, and over pampered girl..maybe that is the role reflecting in her. but, i have never been impressed by her beauty even in the engagement scene where she was dressed to the nines. Purvi, in all her simplicity, is more appealing to me. Not because of the role, but her face is more tranquil at times, especially her smile. That is the appeal of Asha.

Ohh Shyamala..u didnt like their scene..it looks like only me liked it...

actually its not first time, i m seeing such scenes...got used to it...frm the time i c ekta shows...so i didnt found it weird..i found it same repeat with diff actors...😆

& all Ekta leads, once they r in love...they get all the lover types attitued...like dumbness, lover boy being handsome😉, sacrifises...going to any extent for their love to b happy...these r all common things in Ekta shows😆

I know, acc to the character Arjun, which we liked now for so long...suddenly accepting like this is very hard to digest..but henceforth we r going to c him like that only..

u saw, yest while going for int..he was carrying that plastic bag😆...typical😆..i found that funny

Shyamala,

Excellent post. I agree with everything you said in your post. The CVs have really water-down arjun character which does not seem logical to me.
