Dear Arch and Laurie,
šŸ‘šŸ‘Very well said in both your posts...I do agree whole-heartedly with your posts and yes, its time Purvi bucks up and buckles up and stands by her love...Gosh what is wrong with Archana...doesn't show well for the dilemma on folks who both have their own kids and adopt one...raises the bigger question of can they truly be fair...

Dear Archana,

Yours is such a lucid, forceful and logical (as usual) post that for once, I am left with next to nothing to add to it.

This damned serial is jinxed. We had to suffer thru 6 weeks of lousy episodes to get to last Friday, and now where are we? Back in the same slough of despond.

I cannot see Arjun working for someone else, and no Debu, he would not at all fit into a 'simple' life. You cannot turn a prince into a slum dweller; he will be a total failure. Playacting for a short while is one thing, but not for long, no way.

This apart, unless Purvi backs him and refuses to stop meeting him, there is no point to his building his own career from scratch any way, nor will there be anything worthwhile for us to watch. The chances of her doing so seem dim, but perhaps, just perhaps, she will take heart from her aaji's backing and stand up straight for a change. Archana seems to think of her as a piece of property, a chattel who is bound to do her bidding without demur.

These days. any time Archana turns up, my blood pressure mounts. I was happy about the tongue lashing Ovi gave her; it was the one enjoyable part today, apart from Arjun giving Punni the sack oh so neatly, like a hot knife going thru butter.

Shyamala you are right. Unless Purvi grows a spine, and continues to meet Arjun and become his greatest support in his quest, the show no longer is worth watching.

First the CVs did a character assasination on Arjun and everyone bashed him. Now that he is the one stepping up to fight and prove himself, she had better make it clear what she feels for him. Because if she sits there quietly, acceeds to her stupid Aai's request to not meet him at all and leaves him to struggle on his own, even if he does win the challenge, I wont want to see my ladla with a girl who is not willing to stand up for him. It works both ways.
This can either be a great thing or a detrimental thing. If they meet, and we get some more scenes where they are together and both agree to be each others support as they try to convince everyone than that is a good story. But if they get separated and Purvi keeps quiet about her love for him, then its her character then she is not worthy of him- whether he wins the challenge or not.
Doing this will make him a better person because it will show him a side of things and allow him to experience life in such a way he hasnt. So its ok for him to quit his company and live in a chawl...maybe in the future when he goes old, he will have the satisfaction of being able to guide his children the right way because he went through this experience. I am not objecting to the idea of this (I dont really see how it proves anything from the love angle, but fine). However, if Purvi chooses her Aai, does not meet Arjun, and keeps quiet about her love for him, allowing him to struggle and suffer without lifting a finger for him, then she doesnt deserve him. You have to be each others support through both bad times and good.
If that isnt there, then this great love story and Jodi is already over.

Darlyne,
I am hoping that Archana's move today might give us more new arvi scenes in the future, and may show us a stronger bond develop between themšŸ˜. That is the good thing I am looking forward to. 😳

Trish,

If Archana, with all her experience of Savita, can still be 'influenced' by her, she needs to have her head examined.

To my mind, it is not that at all.She detests Arjun because he had ditched her ladli beti Ovi, and she is ready to force Purvi to give him up so that she should not have what Ovi could not have. She might camouflage this as concern for Purvi, and say that Arjun is unreliable, but that is her basic motivation.

In the old days in Hindi films, the mother used to force her son to do her bidding by saying Main apne doodh ki keemat maang rahi hoon. Now Archana is extracting her pound of flesh from the all too weak and wilting Purvi, as the keemat for having adopted her and given her a home.

She says that Purvi does not love Arjun but only thinks she loves him. When she tried to say something similar to Ovi,she got a befitting, stinging reply, but with Purvi, she is on safe ground. Purvi will never rebel.

Shyamala

I agree totally with what you said. If it was not Ovi, who was ditched and someone else would Archana ask Arjun of this? Or if it was Ovi in place of Purvi, would she have asked of her? Her daughters, Ovi & Tej would not take this from her. They would have talked back. But, knowing Purvi's vulnerability as an orphan and her blind dedication to her Aai, Archana dares to ask Purvi to do this for her. What kind of a mom is she to Purvi? She is no different than Savita, to that matter. Acc to dear darling Archana, If Ovi cant have Arjun, Purvi cant either...Since Arjun ditched her darling Ovi, how can he love Purvi? Doesnt she think that Purvi is worth that love? And Purvi, is she ever gonna stand up for her love? Or is Arjun again a blind fool to do all and every thing for her? They didnt even show a couple of days of happiness to these young lovers...and the MONSTER-IN-LAW is there for her pound of flesh...

Trish, I hope so but not confident. Can you believe I watch only three episodes, and I hope it is not time for me to quit again watching. šŸ’”šŸ’”

There is no point in watching PR when Arjun & Purvi cannot meet...we are sick & tired these past 6 weeks of seeing accidental meetings btw ArVi...I am fed up with this silly track ...

@red. I too fervently echo your hope that they will not dumb Arjun down.

He cannot be a subordinate to someone else after having been his own boss all this while.Nor will he be able to bargain for vegetables and bring in the water. I had no idea that he would quit his own firm to accommodate Manav, and be forced to set out on this own to please this harridan of a MIL to be.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that Purvi would never have the guts to support Arjun and stand by him in defiance of her aai.

I agree completely with Archana: it is now for Purvi to prove her love, and unless she steps up to the plate and stands by Arjun, she does not deserve him at all, and he had better find another Vinay.

All in all, it is an unpleasant and messy twist; the only saving grace is that for the next few weeks, no long posts would be called for, which would be good for my poor eyes, and for you folks as well!

Shyamala

Dear Shyamala,
These PR folks can sure take the fun out romance can't they. Icky poo! šŸ˜•
One step forward - ten steps backwards.
If there are no long posts from you then I believe I may just start a petition to the creatives to get their houses in order for you are a saving grace for most of us that watch this distortion called Pavitra Rishta. šŸ˜†

Only way CV can correct all these drama by making Arjun to live in K home under Sulochana's supervision. 😳😳
