Shymala, soapwatcher, and everyone else, those are all wonderful posts. Even I was upset yesterday because of the SBS segment, but I am past that now as I know things will be alright for Arvi. Arjun having flaws makes him all the more endearing. I really hope the brilliant creatives don't ruin his character. I'd rather have a selfish Arjun who is concerned for Purvi rather than a mahaan Arjun who gives everything up for Ovi, DK, and the rest of the Ks and Ds. Arjun would be considered selfish by the Ks and Ds when he tells everyone he loves Purvi.

Hi shyamala,
As always ur posts are so articulate and uplifting! We can count on u to be the voice of reason in IF...one thing u pointed out that will ultimately win the day. Arjun loves Purvi beyond anything...and it isa very deep and pure love...not superficial. He is not capable of turning on Purvi and coming under influence of anyone else. Purvi will take time to one around but slowly she will come around...and I believe as she was guided by Archu before...Archu will be the one to play a part in uniting them again. I thought it very significant that both thanked their moms for their new relationship as well as seeking blessings at the temple together.

I, for one, would love another appearance from Aashna...this time to DK. I like to think of the significance of yesterday's episode: DK stating that her motto was that it is ok to make mistakes...but the wrong is when u don't rectify them. Hopefully she will help DK rectify his mistake and save their son's future and life. Wishful thinking but the CVs have surprised us before...😊

Shymala, I am writing with a fear and I needed someone to tell me I am wrong. A thought crossed my mind today looking at the scene with Purvi and Arjun in the office. I hope they don't go down the trashing Purvi as a gold digger who is sleeping with the boss for her own benefits. When Punni was looking in on them. The scene could have been misinterpreted especially since everyone is unaware of their feelings for each other. I guess what I am trying to voice and I hope I am wrong is I hope the creatives do not go down the path of verbally abusing Purvi once they find out Arjun loves her and the family don't start thinking she is an opportunist. I am a bit annoyed that the MMS mess was never sorted out and did you see the employees's reaction when she walked in the office? Just wondering...

Thanks a lot for such a neat and telling post.

I could not agree with you more when you say that you would " rather have a selfish Arjun who is concerned for Purvi rather than a mahaan Arjun who gives everything up for Ovi, DK, and the rest of the Ks and Ds". I loved you 'Ks and Ds" when you used that phrase earlier.

They are all a MOST tiresome and often unbearable set of no goods, and even the saintly Archana gets on my nerves more often than not. I have had it up to my neck with all the mahaan characters who populate PR, any more and I will drown.

What PR needs is a smart, streetwise young man who knows how to get his own way, even at the cost of hoodwinking not only the rest but even his lady love, of course for her own good and his! What Purvi really needs, though she would never understand it, is this kind of Arjun, who is clever enough to sidetrack or overcome everything (and everyone) that threatens her happiness. I do not think he is street smart enough for this, and he is too vulnerable where she is concerned, but he is of the bulldog breed that never gives up, and that is a good substitute.

As for the streetwise character, perhaps Soham will be like that and will help sort out the multiple problems afflicting the "Ks and Ds".

Dear Archverma10,

Thanks so much for the kind words: I do need them right now!

I agree with you on both counts:

1) that Archana would be the best person to help Arjun out of this mess. I had written about this a day or two ago and I will simple reproduce that to save you some effort ." In fact I had suggested, even when Arjun was trying to get out of the post-MMS spat with Purvi, that he should go to Archana, who would help him out of her love for Aashana and her deep respect for DK. I had than felt, however, that once she learnt of the Ovi-Arjun angle, this would not work, as she would be bound to back her real daughter, regardless of how that daughter felt about her.

I no longer think so. I feel that Archana will support Purvi, basically for the same reason as George Bernard Shaw's Candida, who chooses to stay with her kind but dull husband, who is a vicar, rather than run away with an adoring poet, because the husband needs her more. Archana knows that while Ovi has many people to care for her, Purvi depends totally on her mother. Also Archana firmly believes in marriage for love, and she would agree that there is no sense in Arjun marrying Ovi when he cares nothing for her".

2) that another appearance by Aashana is called for, and that she should now tackle DK. Yours might not be wishful thinking at all - we did not expect that wonderful and intensely moving Aashana-Arjun scene, did we? I pointed out earlier, in support of my assessment that the Ovi crisis would blow over sooner rather than later, that the earlier and quite serious crises affecting Arjun and Purvi had all been quickly and neatly solved, thru the good offices of their parents - Aashana, DK and then Archana. The CVs might just keep up the good work!

Dear aviaanya,

There are 2 parts to your question:

1) what the office staff will think (but NOT say, as Purvi is now the new boss): They will think (to themselves and possibly gossip about it) exactly what you are afraid of. They would have done it even if the Purvi office scene (so tender and charming) had not been seen by Punni (incidentally, the duo are more than indiscreet, seeing that the cabin has a glass door, but that is the first flush of young love, I suppose, and it sweeps away the inhibitions of even the normally very straight laced Purvi!). This is because of the MMS scandal, they will see the unexpected and tremendous promotion for Purvi as proof that the MMS was genuine. But they will be very careful not to get caught speaking about it; Arjun's savage reaction to the MMS affair and the threats he made then would be still fresh in their minds.

2) what her family (and the rest) will think: There will be 2 camps here, I think, and most of them will side with Ovi as the afflicted party, except Archana and possibly Teju and Manav (once his initial anger has died down). They will not want to blame Arjun, as they will be hoping to get him back for Ovi, and so they will focus their ire on Purvi instead.

The first will die out as soon as the office staff realise that Arjun loves Purvi and will be marrying her. Then they will start fawning on Purvi.

The second will last longer, and the intensity of the reaction will depend on how Ovi takes this revelation that Arjun loves someone else. If she does something dramatic like slashing her wrists, it will be high drama in the best Balaji style.

The real question is how soon Arjun and Purvi sort out any misunderstandings on her part. Then they can jointly tell group 2 to get lost, and group 1 will promptly fade away!

I hope the above was helpful.

Shyamala as usual very well written. I too enjoy the lively discussions and interactions between the forum members. It is more fun to enjoy it with company than in solitude. But I am getting obsessed with ARVI and need to wean myself off a little :)
But please don't stop defending Arjun, you will be called upon to do so more so than now after the ring ceremony.
Off to bed, catch you all with the sun!

Dear Jhanvi,

Thanks for the pep talk, but I am really getting tired of too much posting. It is all my fault, of course – it is an new hobby and one tends to go overboard. I can see that you feel the same. I plan to back off a bit.

As for not posting any more in defence of Arjun, I plan to stick to that resolution. I have said all that I have to say on this subject, at great and sometimes inordinate length, and I will have nothing to add to that which will have any impact on anyone who is frantically worried about the future of Arjun-Purvi. It is best to save your fingers!

Take care. Shyamala

As always well written, And I guess I knew the same just needed to hear it from you, Like everyone else ARVI has become an obsession these days and trying not to let myself get too crazy as I know in the end the creative team will send us down the roller coaster ride of emotions before we finally get to see our favorite couple happy. Well let's brace ourself and hope for the best.

😆 Shyamala, tell me about this all consuming interest in this new hobby! I catch myself sneaking a peek at this page to see if Tanya has put up her update as of yet 😃

I have to admit I am intrigued by all the wonderfully edifying posts from the other members as their words paint perceptions and nuances that I have managed to miss. Sigh, I better get back to my precise and definitive numbers, boring in comparison to the drama enfolding on PR but reel is different from real.😭
