Normally we would have 2 dogs, and 2 males, because the first dog we had was a female and she would escape through the gates and "lime" with her friends. Twice she got pregnant, and then we spayed her.

For quite a number of years, we had just 2 dogs, but when one of them died, we got a puppy from the clinic where we take our dogs for medical attention, and it was a female. I had intended to spay her in order for her not to have pups, but we didn't know her real age and at that time, I got the wrong info about how old a dog can be to have pups for the first time (which is at 7 months).

We found out that she was pregnant when her tummy was very fat.😊

She had 5 pups and the girls wanted to keep one of the pups. We couldn't find a home for one of the other pups, so we ended up keeping two of them, making our canine family 4, in number.

When the father died, we had 3 and I was happy with that, but my older daughter wanted the male to have his own pups. A friend of mine was looking for a home for a kind of stray puppy in her neighbourhood. I decided to take her and when she had pups, ofcourse my daughter wanted to keep one of them, so that is how we ended up with 5 dogs.😊

I've told my children that that's it. If they want more in the future, they can do so when they live elsewhere.😆 It's not bad, as all 3 children help with the dogs.

No Varun, I'm not poor in Maths. You need to brush up.😉😆

At one time we had 4 dogs...the parents and 2 pups.

The father died, leaving 3 dogs.

I got another female dog, making it 4 dogs again.

When she had pups, we kept one, making it 5 dogs.

Clearer now?😆
