Archana likes playing the martryr. A slap will not be the solution.

I think the worst punishment that Archana can get is being abandoned physcially or emotionally by Manav. That is worse than a slap. Slaps are childish reactions. Emotional detachment is far more effective a form of communication (silent as it is) on adults.

Bhalla,
@bold...just a correction here.
You have it wrong. At this time, it was Manav who didn't want to have anything to do with his mother. It was Archana who kept encouraging him to go visit his mother, and even suggested he spend every other night with her. Archana never wanted to keep Manav away from his mother. That's why he visited her that night when he laid his head on her lap while she put him to sleep like she used to do when he was a child.

Agree. I don't think she would endanger her kids to spite her MIL but I am very disappointed in how she seems to be attached at the hip with her maika to the point that it compromises her responsibility and judgement towards her family. As a wives and daughters we all know how difficult it is to balance our past with our present and future but at least most of us try and I guess what disappoints me here is that Archana never tried and now it has come back to bite her. I did not like it when recently Archana realizing she was losing a argument on good grounds with her husband decided to throw Vandita in the mix. Manav loves Vandita and his family but he does not pander them. He only helps when they ask him too. She used his love for his sister to justify her pandering of her own. It was like subtle emotional blackmail and when it comes from your other half it blinds sides you enough that you lose a very logical argument. She kicks below the belt often and always at Manav who has tried to do his best by her. She had his unquivocal trust. Other than being a lover she has not used that trust to enrich his life. She has used that trust to serve her own family. which is I why I said unintentionally.
Agree with your above points Hope.

Hi Sharon Di,

You are 100% correct, I had put it wrong. Archana didn't tell Manav not to see his mother, I will edit my post. I remember that Archana had suggested Manav to visit his mother and Manav would stay every other night with his mother and Archana had no issue with that.

I hope I didn't upset you.

@Sharon: Everyone is entitled to his/her opinions about the character or the actors playing the role...Whether it is Sushant or Hiten who now is playing the role of Manav..should not make a difference now...dont read those lines which are not to be meant...m replying this to your post to Varsha...we have never said who did a better job or who is doing a better job...pls dont misunderstand the statements being made...we are talking abt the current and let it be that way...people opine since they have the right to express...doesnt mean that they should be an ardent fan of a particular actor/actress...and have to say for them...

Hi Resham,
Like Varsha, you are misunderstanding what I said.
I have NEVER spoken about Hiten personally or professionally. As I've said MANY times, I never heard of Hiten before PR, don't know his body of work, and no longer watch PR (only read upates and get glimpses of parts of certain scenes), so I think it would be unfair to comment about his acting.
The post concerning Varsha was a question asked innocently. As I explained to Varsha, the word that caused the question was the word "more", not the word "who" which Varsha chose to explain. For me, the word "more' naturally implies a comparison or indicates that there is more than one thing or person being spoken about.
That was how I interpreted the comment. I nicely asked Varsha what she meant and gave examples of situations when I thought Sushant acted well, so she would have an idea what I was talking about.
She explained her position and I accepted it. I misunderstood what she meant initially, and based my comments on that. I am not saying ALL should accept Sushant as better than Hiten, or no one should accept Hiten as Manav. That is their right. I, however, feel I have a right to express my opinions and have my preferences too. I have always said I will never accept any other actor as Manav, regardless of who the actor is. I LOVE SRK. but I would never accept him as Manav. It has NOTHING to do with Hiten personally or professionally.
How Varsha worded he sentence, again the important word here is the word "more", led me to interpret her comments that way. Just as she and everyone else has the right to express their views, I think I have that same right.
I have always based my comments regarding Hiten in relation to the portrayal of the character, Manav. I still believe that Manav has been portayed in a much more positive light since Hiten came on board as compared to when Sushant was there. It is Varsha and others right to disagree if they want. It is also my right to feel that way. I don't impose my feeliigs or views on anyone. If I don't agree with a view, I usually ignore it.
If you don't want your statements to be misunderstood, then please express them more clearly, leaving no room for doubt as to their meaning. That would be very helpful. In this case, Varsha could have said Hiten is more fabulous now, than when he first started, if that is what she meant, If she had said it that way, I wouldn't have responded at all.
You mentioned about talking about the current. If that is the case, why do people still refer to the jailing of Manav's family, blaming it on Archana even though she had no idea Manju was doing that? That happened ages ago! So why still talk about it?
In closing, I'd like to say once more that I've never imposed my views on anyone, nor would I ever do. Just as I feel I have a right to love any actor/actress, I believe others have the right to love their actor/actress too.
Thanks for your input Resham, and I hope this post clears up everything.
