Personally I wud have clapped if Shravani had taken Sachu away caring a hang for the illegtimate status . But her humanity to the grieving mother of her dead fiancee and her decision regarding her child keeping the larger picture in mind should oh so not be trivialized .

I applaud her for not interfering even ONCE in Archana's upbringing of the child . For not phoning and being in touch and confusing the child . What superb love that is ...to do this kind of sacrifice . To be this unselfish in love . She wanted HIS happiness so she crushed HER personal feelings . Unlike Archana who gave up Soham to Varsha but hung around saying I am Maa by paying weekly visits . Did she have any idea how CONFUSED Soham wud be , how detrimental it is for a child not to understand his roots and to disturb his sense of belonging ?

Even now , she keeps her emotions in check and does her best NOT to confuse the boy even when he runs by chance into her , like on the phone . Thats the way it should be .Its Savita who is messing him . And Archana's maayka problems that r now causing her to do abominable neglect to her sons .

To be fair to Archana , its not just Sachu that she has neglected lately , she does equal neglect of Soham . She did take good care of Sachu for 5 years , yes . Sulochana loved him too like her own grandchild . But then the K family problems resurfaced with full force . Varsha 's Soham obsession , Sulochana running away and hiding what not . The parents ARMAN started running around solving people's problems and neglecting their own kids by leaving them to Grandmothers or servants or Archus sisters . Archana got too involved with her baby Varsha and forgot that there r two REAL babies who have not grown up and need her attention . She simply lost touch with them .

Sadly , the five years when she gave Sachu her attention will not be remembered as that time he was a kid and only had physical needs ...to be fed , clothed and looked after . The emotional maturity starts after one crosses 5 ...that is the time a mother shud be more vigilant .Just food , clothing and meds is not enough then , the child wonders if he is being given priority , is being loved , if there r problems around him . And exactly at this moment of Sachus life Archana has decided to prioritise Varsha .

When it sinks in her brain one day that she need not prioriise her sisters over her children it will be too late . She cannot have it both ways , she HAS to learn that SHE HAS A LIFE . That she HAS to leave others to their fate and focus on HER sons and HER husband . She should not run on roads looking for mother or decide to leave Sachu to his Grandma and go with Soham to live with Varsha . The kids get abominably neglected then . When she ran on roads looking for Sulo , Varsha took advantage and dug her talons in Soham , when she got involved in Varsha Savita took advantage and poisoned Sachu .

This happened as SHE was not there in her own sansar . She prioritised something else .

And if someone asks me here ...does that mean we have to forget our maayka once we r married I wud bluntly say YES . YES if kids r born and r being neglected . Our first duty and priority goes to THEM as we made a commitment to God about them ...we simply got to put a lid on our emotions regarding others like our vast expanse of relatives with never ending problems .Sure , help em , but by staying within your own sphere and never abandoning your kids . Then no one can win by taking advantage and taking them away from you .

I really dunno watz the problem .Like I said , the world is getting slick and glossier by the day . Gone r the zamanas of showing the middle aged like grey haired , spectacled Kurta wearing or pallu in the front draped persons . Nowdays middle aged wear jeans . color their hair , wear contacts ...look so glamorous .

Had i met Sushant I wud have CONVINCED him . Btw has anyone imagined Sushant with rimless spectacles perched on his nose , biting a pen and browsing a file with cute lil grey flecks in his sideburns . He wud be HOT .

And has anyone imagined Archana with pearls around her throat and a black cocktail dress . hair done up in style . She wud be subhanallah .

And nowadays , a lot of the TV actors are either quitting the show or protesting when asked to turn 20 years older ... unlike a few years ago ( kyunki/kahaani days..) ..

Amitabh had no problems playing a middle aged man in Kabhi Kabhi . That movie was a super hit so was Amitabh . Neither did he lose his fan following nor did the movie flop ...it was a super hit . Why do the young actors today LIMIT themselves with these kind of conditions ? They might just be surprised if they lose their inhibitions and simply play the chartacter well by insisting on GOOD SCRIPTS instead of continuing this way with rubbishy tracks .

Kools, I agree with a lot of points in your post. The only point I disagree with is Shravani giving Sachu up because of the illegitimate tag. The reasons being that when Savita came to ask Sachu from Shravani, then till that point she was very much determined to keep him and bring him up alone, and as far as I remember, Savita did not say anything about legitimacy. Her decision changed bcos of Savita who cried a lot saying she would die without Sachu. Shravani always knew Savita loved Sachu more than anything in the world, even Manav. Shravani at that moment understood her genuine grief as a mother who had lost her son (Sachin) once and now was losing him again. I somewhere feel Shravani identified with her too (this was not shown in the serial- this is what I perceive going by their early bonding and dialogues in the serial when Sachin died) since Shravani too had only lost till that point in the serial (Sachin and later Manav too) and Savita too had lost Sachin, Sachu and Manav at that point.

Shravani felt sorry for this mother who had lost her son again, the family who had lost Sachin again, who had doted on Sachu as the apple of their eye- who was their hope. And hence she gave her son to them. She had lived enough in that house to know that they were good people who would take care of her child and bring him with good values like Manav and Vandita. She trusted Manav and Archana too, that they would shower love on him.

I may not agree with what she did (I even made a post at that time asking CV's not to show this), but I can understand her to some extent.

I agree with the rest of your points about her. She is not what I would call a bad mother.

Me too. Both love him and will cry buckets. Archana might even agree but I doubt Manav will agree initially. Though later after some tear shedding sessions both will agree that Shravani pines for Sachu just like they pined for Soham, loves her and so they will return him back. (More tear shedding session)

Kools, this is about movies. In tellyworld it does not work out that often. Once you age in a show you sort of get stuck in the mould. Rarely it happens that you get to work in a young role again.

Aging for one - two episodes at the end of the show is a different thing, but to play such a role for close to one year is different.
