I know that this thread is meant to discuss serious stuff, but I really can't express how excited I am to know this! I have always had an interest in psychology, (I'm doing MBBS, and often wondered if I should try and be a psychiatrist- seems to be a very intriguing field)
Read your posts in other thread too. Very thought provoking ones they were. In your answer to sherma di's post above too, I agree with many points. Archana shouldn't really be forced. Yesterday when she was asked to slap Manav, what did she do later?- she BURNED her hand. This girl is crossing all limits when it comes to Manav. Marriage to any other guy is a strict no no for her right now.
I hope you'll keep posting now!!!
PS: Is there any shorter name we can address you by? 😆

Hi there! I'm glad you enjoy my posts. I enjoy your ideas and suggestions too. I frequent these forums quite often, but don't get the chance to post because I'm busy, but I'll try to post more often, just for you kay?😉

Psychology is a wonderful field to study, and it makes a lot of money too considering how much attention mental health is getting nowadays.

Psychology and Psychiatry are just as different as Dermatology and Pediatrics. Psychologists deal with mental health issues stemming from a behavioral standpoint, whereas psychiatrists deal with mental health issues stemming from a chemical imbalance in the brain standpoint to put it simply.

You can refer to me as Sere =)

sulo is right in expecting her daughter to get married. But not allowing her daughter to make a dignified decision in life for herself is wrong. After the jail fiasco, archana should have broken the rishta with jaywant and sulo should have supported her. Instead Sulo emotionally blackmailed archana intom marrying jaywant. Leave love.....the girl doesn't respect the man and does not identify with any of his characteristics. She has been cheated and lied by this man. Sulo should have atleast understood that the foundation of the relationship between jaywant and archana is extremely weak for it to sustain with happiness.

Manav's role should have only been to discuss with archana about marriage and no more. His shart was overboard. I don't think manav caring about archana's future was wrong.....if he was moving on in life....he should have wanted archana to move too and live life with happiness instead of hanging onto him all his life.

Archana should have been given time by both sulo and manav....neither did and thats where they both were wrong. Archana is emotionally and physically not ready for a relationship such as marriage and it can have consequential effects on her.

About society.....i think sulo should have given more prerogative to archana's happiness than what ten people say. Sulo should have just told her if you don't want to marry now......don't but try to emotionally disconnect yourself from manav. Thats what a mother should have done for her daughter if she really understood her.

Sulo has best in her heart......but her decisions and thinking is as bad as manav and archana's.

Sulochana's character in a nutshell "Sulo has best in her heart.......but her decisions and thinking is as bad as manav and archana's."

Glad you agree with us =)

😆 My username is actually quite funny. It means Sere loves Dare.

Sere is my nickname, aishite is a combination of a japanese word and french grammar, and Dare is a cartoon character from Sailor Moon that I was in love with almost 9 years ago, because his girlfriend had a similar name to mine.

Aishiteru is the word in japanese and it means I love you

I shortened it to aishite because I was in love with french in high school, and in french grammar, a verb ends with an e if the original form of the verb ends in er, and there was an -er in aishiteru, so I conjugated it there 😆

Therefore, Sere = (me/cartoon character from sailor moon), aishite = loves (japanese/french), and dare = Darien (cartoon character from sailor moon)

@sere: Neurology, psychiatry and psychology can be very related at times. There's a book- 'phantoms in the brain' by an eminent indian scientist that gives some very interesting examples. Some clinical cases were sent to psychologists by the neurologists since the patients were having behavioral problems- some were even classified neurotics and psychotics. Later, research proved that these behavioral problems were actually stemming out of neurological problems- infarct, amputation and so on. Proved to be a very interesting read.

Sure, will keep pestering you now. 😆

Kools , I agree that right now archana needs therapy more than marriage ... after the hand burning incident sulo should be more worried about archana's life then her spinsterhood ...

And I wish mano would have been a bit more .. uh .. forceful in making his point yesterday .. he is so right in feeling uneasy about archana's impending marriage ...

Sulo is shoving marriage down her daughter's throat bcuz she thinks sometime in the future she would fall out of love with manav and in love with jaywant ...
Similarly , Manav sort of blackmails archana to agree to the marriage bcuz he thinks it is the only way for her to "move on" ...

Archu has OPTED to be a lamb for Manav . While her mom is wrong not to insist on the breaking up of marraige , largely the decisions are all Archana's only .
She shud walk out of the house , live in rental flat and continue working . But she wont .
I think her sisters have become oblivious to her pain and suffering coz its endless . They did Manav jeeju Manav jeeju for a very long time post divorce but stubborn Manav remained unaffected and adamant on marrying Shravni . So did stubborn Archna who told them reconciliation with Manav was just not possible . So what shud sisters do , sympathise with her forever ? For her self made sorrows ? They r human after all .
As far as the drsssing up like cHristmas trees part goes , Archna herself was dressed like one yesterday at navratri fair , so much so that men mistook her for a prostitute . Rest of the time she dresses like Manav's widow , in dull dowdy colours and elbow length blouses . I dont understand why her sisters shud dress simply just coz Archu isnt moving on in life . At least let them be happy .
Regarding her ATEET and that she isnt a soiled piece of goods I agree . The ones with ATEET are Shravni and Varsha . One was unwed mom , one was having affair with married boss . Their ATEETS r more controversial than Archnas stupid voluntary divorce . But again , its Archna who shud be pointing this out while putting up a defence for HER NOT MARRYING STAND .

I think at this point Archu is not being a sacrificial lamb for MAnav, but for her parents. I don't know about her sisters anymore, but I do know that I want everyone to just BUTT OUT of Archana's personal life, she is an adult as so many people pointed out, and perfectly capable of making her own decisions. Her family needs to mind their own business.

I completely agree with you all. It is the bitter truth of this world that a good deed returned with a punishment. Look at Manav, he has been always helping out Archu's family members but they seem to have forgotten all those favors. Dharmesh and Jaywant dont belong to this family but what about Vaishu and Varsha, how can they even treat Manav like that? Nothing can ever make anyone to think less of Manav. He is truly a nice human being.

Kool, I think I wisely decided to opt out of commenting. You have every right to hold your views. In fact you have an entire thread where you state your POV very strongly -- and every day. I enjoy your humour and I have never ever disputed your right to say what you want -- even if I did not agree with it or felt aggrieved by it, which I did very often. . So if after days, months perhaps, I do a single post, it is not fair to come back at me saying I am attacking someone else's point of view. That is intolerance. I said I cannot understand how people can drool over a family that cannot see its daughter's distress and immediately followed it up by saying sorry if I offended anyone. It is my POV -- and, if I am not mistaken, it is the the POV of many others who have participated in this thread. And if I think Archu's sisters are giggly, insensitive and selfish, I have reason to believe and say so. I even added a smilie to let you know it is all in god humour. I find Dharmesh loathsome and am angry that Vaishali is oblivious to how terribly worng he is. It is my view that women ought not to blindly support their husbands and should have their own identities. In the case of archana and manav, you have to admit that they never, ever fight for themselves. When they themselves are attacked or humiliated, they take it silently. But they react strongly when the other is attacked and even when an outsider is wronged.. They have a strong sense of justice even if that is dangerously veers on OTT. Which is why in the end they get the maximum votes in SOTD. Because somewhere in all of us there is a strong sense of right and wrong. We want good to win over evil even if we accept the unavoidable reality of the greys. You say you like the grey characters. That is your prerogative. I have been a working woman with a great career living on my own -- in India -- for many many years. I have met more grey than positive characters in the course of my work. I have even admired their guts; perhaps they are more interesting too. Who is not fascinated by a bitch? But even today my eyes light up, and I feel really, really good from the inside when I meet someone who is idealistic and who will not compromise on essential values. There are not many like that but there are a few and they make me feel that they are the people who make the world go around. I suspect I am not alone in feeling this way. In a bizarre, twisted sort of way foolish Arman represent this essential goodness and which is why despite all the idiotic things they do they still have so many people rooting for them.
Kool, I will not post again and this is a promise because every time I do, I get it in the neck. Cheers.
