But you are gundi..and i see that in those ladies as well..i see generally konkani ladies as gutsy women..and the area i lived had nasty ones i have to admit..it was near mangalore not goa..
But they have lion heart i must say..i meant it as compliment..if somebody misbehave with them they just take their chappal out..👍🏼..i can't do those things..😭

This whole slapping thing is bad culture

Our Aji told us explicitly never slap a guy even if he misbehaves in a bus or something, push him to get him out of proximity and use bold language to make him shame-faced-we were 11 kids in the house @most times as it was joint family, and anybody wud be thrashing some kid any time ,but never on the face.Aji was v clear on that, and she still rules the house on houserules.Even slapping a 2 yr old makes the child rebellious reflexive, thrashing other ways does not give out such a negative emotion as slapping

Something to do with the esteem the face gives the human more than any other body part I think
Surprisingly Islam prohibits a husband slapping wife on the face although permits control of his wife by physical means.Coz,it never evokes anything but negativity
I never liked this sulo slapping sachin, manav, varsha, vaishu, savita slapping sachin, archu slapping arnd, satish slapping varsha, vinod slapping manju - although the anger is justifiable, none of this brought abt a positivity,it made the victims wilful.Verbal thappads bring positive changes. All this bullcrap in movies, hubby slaps wife and she falls @his feet is nonsense, unless the brain did a flip between left to right,or she lost eardrum vacuum in head
This parents have to teach, insaan mein adab hona jeeney mein, even anger forgiveness,Aji taught us to treat like rootna manana only, not break relationships
Still, wat Dhammu did permits why only archu, whole mohalla and tarun and ajit and chawl to give him verbal thappads.Wat Dhammu has done is PUBLIC CRIME,now stoning time. Its law and order issue. He better stop his manipulation of it as if its still family drama. Its past those histrionics. If Manav gets a death sentence, they wud have committed murder.Life sentence is worse.
That he made Jay to challenge and dare manav with words like you love archu more than life, then this qurbani is small, shows the kind of manipulative power he has on even Jay who is not able to see beyond his master. Dhammu has hidden his tracks well, phasega tho only Jay
Vaishu doesnt seem to feel the moral dilemma that even Satish and Dhammu showed initially😲

I have lived with my mIL for 14 years coz hubby had outdoor job , she relies more on me than him ..........😃
And Konkani ladies r very very traditional .My mom wud have a fit if any one of us divorced .If ever I and my hubby argue , she blindly takes Hubbys side , THAT traditional SHE is
Not a single man in mY family was puppet in any ones hands .neither mom nor wife .
Im not saying this to praise my family ...........Plzz , u know how frank IM . Its fact .
U may have seen some greedy specimens . But thats a universal trait , not a caste trademark Usha .😆.Ask Hope she will tell u , sHe is Goan too

Usha:

I cannot think the word divorce. My mother would disown me. Kools is right on everything above.

My Dad is hte boss in my house. FIL is the final word in hubby's house and hubby is the final final word inmy house.

All the woman are independent and opinionated but we all know where the buck stops.

I have known some families like the ones that you talk about but these are not middle class conservative families like us. they are families where education was minimal if non existent and were more like the Deshmukhs in the show than like the karanjkars (environment and societal status wise).

My experience with my cousins and all is that the patriachs in the house are usually the listeners and the women are the talkers but when the patriachs talk everyone listens and obeys. it may sound less progressive or old fashioned but it keeps the decorum in the house and I have never known my dad or FIL or hubby to ever say anything that was unfair or illogical.

Hope😃

Kools:

Mogga koshe hai goh?

today everyone is sleeping so I am sneaking online😆😆😆😆

I did nto watch the show. But read your commentary. If you say Holy Archu one more time I am going to have dreams all night of Archu in a nun's habit doing manav the priest😉😆😆😆😆😆

BTW, thought I would drop my two cents re the slap

I think for a supposedly timid shy helpless girl she is very aggressive. She seems to slap people whenever she disagrees with them but she never slapped Manav who deserved the slap for ruining her life.

We are Indian girls who also live in conservative families with their own share of conflicts, plots and issues (sometimes even legal) do we go around slapping people in our defence or do we as educated sanskaari well mannered individuals take the high ground and seek other ways to address our issues? I believe in Tit for Tat. If Dharmesh tricked u then use your brains and trick him back. Violent reactions (unless in self defence) in response to disagreeable situations to me are an indication of low level of tolerance and weak self control. I have encountered many situations in my life (personally and professionally) wher I felt I was dealign with an intolerable injustice or wrong - I resolved each situation using passive means. Strategy and communication - two skills Archu seems to be lacking from the start of the show.
This slapping business of ADULTS has been stretched too far in all Indian soaps. betcha none of the people that loved the slap actually slapped any grown up or adult in their life, especially not their family members. My sis slapped me once - I was in 9th std and she was 9 years my senior. She never did it again after that ever. My dad forbade it becasue corporal punishment for studies or a childhood error is one thing (British style) but slapping for the sake of uncontrollable rage or to inflict painful humiliation on known individual is low and unbecoming. i too come from Indian conservative middle class. This is not done. not for a sanskaari girl like Archu or even her sisters for that matter. It is crude and uncouth.
Even a girl like vandu for all her plight would not do it.
Slapping a rapist or something in self defence is different but this aggressive rage is unbecoming and should not be glorified. I understand that purpose on the part of the CVs is sensationalism not righteousness and from an entertainment perspective I guess chalta hai.
but no glorification because if the slap is symbolic then archu should get slapped for supporting Manav in screwing up Shravani's life and messing Jay's mind and happiness. Manav should get slapped for his perpetual obstinant stance re the marriage, divorce, etc and Savita and Manju and OMG the list goes on.........

I hope Vaishali makes an issue of it tomorrow, This Manav jaap has gone on for long. either marry the dude and defend him as his spouse or get a life and stop muckign around with everyone else'

Hope
