Anjali,
Dharmesh did value Manavs' work.He did talk to him and ask him in a friendly way no to resort to brawls within factory premises.I didnt see him doing it for Prakash.
He employed Archana on his partner Satishs' reco as he had been her boss previously. He didnot do it as a personal favour.I find Satish doing it though.I find Satish is in too much awe of ArMans' goodness that he hardly thinks professionally.
And,if Manav is so talented and is an excellent worker,I dont see why he shud fail to secure a job anywhere else, based on his experience and capabilities.Intead of saying I will quit if Manav is fired,Satish cud have talked with his other friends and got Manav a job. That wud have helped. His quiting the factory is of no use to anyone concerned. It sounds so silly coming from the co-partner of a company.
Dharmesh was never in favour of giving job to Ajit.Again it was Satish and Archana.
If tom, worker union starts headed by a not-so-worthy leader, leading to strikes, only Satish and Archana are to be blamed.
All the workers started talking about nepotism after they saw Archana pleading to Dharmesh for Ajit and then Satish supporting her.
We,actually dont see any worker dissatisfaction over Manavs' sacking. But we do see worker dissatisfied with Ajit getting a job.
If Satish n Archana wanted to persuade Dharmesh to give Ajit a job, they should have done it within closed doors.Archana was wrong in running and pleading after Dharmesh infront of the whole office.Very wrong. It led to tongues wagging.Satish was even more wrong in supporting her infront of all staff.
Workers hardly talk about Dharmeshs' attitude. They r ok and satisfied with his way of handling things.WHat they didnt like was Satish n Archana persuading Dharmesh Sir to bend his rules.

Gauri,

I too agree with almost every thing you wrote.

What was bugging me was the 'narrow' outlook of Dharmesh. I honestly feel that both the worker and the organization has to be fairly treated. As much is discipline important, so is fairness and due process. Atleast the way it is shown ( I have not seen episodes in last 7-8 days, mostly reading just updates and kools commentry) it does not seem that there was any due process employed here.

When management cares about the employees then the workers too care. Some would say that Dharmesh inviting every worker to his wedding, giving bonus etc are proof that he cares about the employees. I don't buy that. Many "maaliks" do that out of paternalistic approach. It makes them feel good. so hurray to them for atleast trying.

What Satish was advocating was fair. he said before taking any decision you should have atleast consulted me. But after that I do not agree with Satish too. He too is making a ego issue by saying that i will leave too. Businesses don't run like that.

My duvidha is i know Archu, Manav, Satish are more persuaded by emotion and Dharmesh by just rules. There is always a third truth and it takes real wisdom to get there. That's what i thought Archu was trying to accomplish.

good discussion between us though, thanks for sharing your thoughts..

Take care.. Anjali

exactly .. until now dharmesh has been straight as an arrow.. he simply doesnt mix business with pleasure.. and at the same time he is not hard core business man.. cos he has never abused any1 for profit..he has treated everyone fairly just because manav lives in a chawl why should he bend? even prakash pleaded he has kids.. he didnt show compassion then .. so why now? this satish acting too emotional... and its ridiculous that both are ready to leave job for 1 person.. its like emotional blackmail!

totally agreed , why is satish getting entangled in this emotional mess. Archana desperation can be understood.

I vote for Vinod again, I am so proud of him for leaving Manju and taking his kids with him. I am glad he did so because Manju had no time for her children, she had Sulochana taking care of them while she lived her life carefree. I hope Vinod never goes back to Manju, he can do better for himself.
