Brief Written updates of the Fortnight

June 8
Satish visits Manav at work and says that he hopes that him and Archu will get back together
Archu tells Manju that she'll take all of her responsibilities
Varasha tells Satish that Bhavana went to Delhi because she wants to get away from all of this
Varsha says she should leave this house and Satish's dad says she won't go anywhere and that he supports her
Damodhar comes to Archu's house drunk saying he'll die before he sees Manav's life getting ruined
He tells Archu that she did what she did and got divorced, so he'll drink as much as he wants
He says that nobody is happy at home without her and he collapses
Vinod tells Manav about Damodhar and he goes to get Damodhar
Archu tells Damodhar to swear that he'll never drink again
Manav and Archu talk about how both of their lives are full of unhappiness anymore

June 9
Satish sees Reshmi and asks her for help in finding evidence against Ashwin
Manav comes home and tells Savita what happened, and she goes to get Damodhar
Savita comes to Archu's house and takes Damodhar home and tells Archu she shares no relationship with her anymore
Archu is hurt by what Savita said and Sulochana consoles her and makes her understand why Savita said what she said
Savita starts fighting with a woman from the chwal
Savita says that Shravni is the new daughter-in law of the house
She also says she'll prove that they don't need Archu in the house anymore

June 10
Rasika comes to see Manju and taunts Sulochana's family and Archu
Vinod stands up for Archu and answers Rasika back and Manju gets angry
Vinod is about to slap Manju but Archu stops him
Shravni tells Savita she wants Manav's love and support and Savita tells her she needs to gain that love and support by proving herself
Satish's Baba tells Varsha he tried to talk to Bhavana and she'll understand one day
Rashmi tells Satish to go to a hotel tonight because Ashwin called her there
Vinod apologizes to Archu on Manju's behalf and they have a heart to heart conversation
Archu calls Manav and asks about Damodhar's health
Savita takes the phone from Manav and tells her not to keep a relationship with Manav anymore
Satish reaches the hotel and someone taps him on the shoulder

June 11
Ashwin taps Satish on the shoulder and they sit together
Ashwin tells Satish that he's right by supporting Varsha, but it shouldn't affect his and Urmila's relationship
Satish asks Ashwin to swear that what he says is the truth but Ashwin talks his way out of doing that
Satish tells Varsha that he met Rashmi and how Ashwin fooled her too
Varsha tells Satish that she doesn't care what people think as long as he's with her and to not get involved in this and he says that he's doing this for her
Girish comes and says that he's fixed a wedding date for after 10 days and everyone agrees
Damodhar tells Manav that he can get back with Archu in these 10 days if he wants
He makes a joke saying that on the wedding day Archu will be the bride
Domodhar coughs up blood and is scared/shocked but hides it from Manav
Nirmila comes with a proposal for Vaishu, but she isn't happy and Archu notices
Vaishu tells Archu she doesn't want to get married after looking at Archu and Varsha's marriages
Archu explains to her that all marriages aren't like that and to at least meet him and make a decision and Vaishu agrees

June 14
Ashwin's car bangs into Savita auto, and she starts screaming at him in the middle of the road
Archu goes to Manav's work and gives him jewelry to help him out financially
Reshmi calls Ashwin, but Urmila tells her to call back during business hours
Ashwin thinks that he can't let Satish and Reshmi meet
Sulochana tells Archu that she knows that Archu went to go see Manav
Vaishu's rishta came to see her and don't like that Archu is divorced
Vaishu stands up for Archu and says she doesn't want to marry him
Savita goes to get Vandu and she and Ajit start fighting
Savita and Vandu go to Archu's house and return Archu her jewelry

June 15
Reshmi says she'll tell Ashwins truth to everyone if she doesn't get her money
Ashwin says he'll pay her all in one go
Manav finds out about Damodhar coughing up blood, and tells him not to tell Savita
Urmila slaps Ashwin and plays the recording of his conversation with Reshmi and leaves
Urmila comes to Satish's house and apologizes to Varsha and Satish
Vaishu and her friends go for a test ride in a car but get in trouble but are let off
Varsha tells Archu and Sulochana about Ashwin and they are all happy

June 16
Bhavana comes back home and Satish and his dad tells her everything about Ashwin
Bhavana says she wants to talk to Urmila first, but Satish tells her to talk to Varsha
Bahavana apologizes to Varsha but Varsha says she needs some time
Archu was about to tell Sulochana about what Manju said to Rasika
Ashwin comes to Satish's house and wants to talk to Urmila but she tells him to leave
Bhavana yells at Ashwin saying she almost broke all her of relationships with everyone for him and he turned out to be wrong
Manav sees Archu in the train, and Archu tells him about what's going on at her house, and Manav tells Archu her situation
Savita is apologizing to the jewelry sets since she ignored them for so long
Satish asks Varsha why isn't she talking to Bhavana
Varsha says it'll take time because she's really hurt about how Bhavana hurt her family
Kaka says he wants to go back to his village because he can't see Shravni and Manav's marriage
Domodhar says he's sure Manav and Shravni's wedding won't happen, and Shravni hears it

June 17
Shravni tells Domodhar that her marriage to Manav will happen
Varsha tells Bhavana it'll take her some time to forgive her and can't give her false respect
Archu says she wants to go to night school, and Manju says then she'll work and contribute to this house
Savita tells Damodhar that she'll get Manav and Shravni married and show Archu they don't need her
Vaishu asks Archu why is money so important
Archu calls Manav at night, but Shravni cuts the call and doesn't tell Manav
Manav goes to the Mandir, and Shravni sees him go
Archu and Manav meet each other in the mandir

June 18
The pandit asks Manav and Archu to do the pooja together, but they tell him they're divorced
Manav is helping Archu down the stairs, and they see Shravni standing at the bottom
Shravni walks past them and goes to pray and Archu tells her that it's a coincidence that they're at the mandir at the same time
Shravni questions Archu's phone call last night and how they're at the mandir together the next day
She says that they're divorced now and she wants proof of that today
Shravni says she wants to marry Manav right now and tells Archu she'll tie the knot
Archu ties the knot for Shravni and Manav
Shravni starts having pains in her stomach and falls down
Manav and Archu bring Shravni home and Savita stops Archu from coming inside
Savita questions Manav, and she doesn't believe that Manav didn't know Archu was at the mandir and sides with Shravni
Savita tells Archu not to come between Shravni and Manav if she really loves Manav and to not come to their wedding
Archu leaves and Manav watches her leave from the balcony

Star Female : I have to say that Reshmi was fabulous this fortnight ... even though she had a short appearance, she is worthy of being Star Female of the Fortnight ! ... I loved the way she played Ashwin and he didnt even have a clue ... but I am glad she realized her mistakes and she wanted to rectify her mistakes by making her best friends married life secure ...

Star Male : There haven't been many Manly moments in this fortnight apart from Dam Baba being persistent that ArMan will get back together ! ... I love how Baba keeps telling Manav that ArMan can get together before ManChoo's Wedding ... Lets just keep our fingers crossed that ArMan do get back together!! ... but one other guy comes to mind and that is Vinod ... I love how he loves and supports his family and he is even willing to move out of the house to keep the peace ... but I am glad he can support his family even when Manju is against it ...

Star Actor and Actress of the Fortnight

This fortnight this section is yet again dedicated to a group rather than specific people. Without this group of people, the show really would seem like it is set in some utopia rather than an actual city, without this group of people, the show would seem completely incomplete. This section is dedicated to those who play the "extra" characters. While their names may not be well known, their characters are pivotal. Whether its the pujari or the pandit, the nosy neighbor or the men that sleep outside the Karanjkar home, the men working in the various garages or those who simply pass by the chawl, they are all important. This section salutes all of them this fortnight.

Not to forget the lead actors though, a special congratulations to Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande for winning the Best Actor Male and Gold Debutante Female respectively at the Gold Awards held on June 19th.

Sequence of the Fortnight

Another weepy fortnight followed, with almost everyone on the show crying out buckets of tears. It was as if there was a race to see who could exercise their tear glands the most- undoubtedly!

The ArMan scene this fortnight is one such scene, where Manav talks to Archu on the phone, begging to talk with him at least once every day. This scene might have irritated a lot of watchers who wanted Archu-Manav to separate totally, but the thing which made this scene appealing was the acting of the leads- especially Sushant Singh Rajput, who did a fab job. Manav might have disappointed us big time- but Sushant never fails to deliver. Manav's helplessness, his despair, his urgent need of having his Archu close to him was so evident in that scene- it was heart tugging to see him cry in the end. No doubt Archu couldn't control herself too, knowing that her husband was lonely and in pain, and cried too.

And we all cried as well, at this lovely story gone bizarre.

Best Family Scene of the Fortnight

Well, these moments have been very rare over the past fortnight ... well actually not many at all ... one nice scene which comes to mind is the scene where Vaishu is chasing punni to drink her milk but punni doesnt drink it but Archu finds a way to make punni drink it ... and then I loved how punni was saying that vaishus stories are rubbish ... and how archus stories are really good ...

The only saving grace this fortnight was Varsha being proved innocent ..and some nice Arman moments despite no rishta between them ....but being divorced and now engaged to get married to Shravani isnt Manav and Archana 's so called rishta an apavitra one ...and shravani has already proven it .....sick stuff.. I wonder what the CV's wanna prove or show ....but we could seriously do with some fast tracking and Shravani getting the boot ...nevertheless the couple who indeed have a pavitra rishta are Sasha.......they are truly rocking !!!!!

Rating for the fortnight: 3.5/5

Various articles have indicated that a leap of approximately eight months is imminent, during which Archana and Manav would separate for good and the show would move concentration to Shravani and her child. Pooja Pihal herself notes that are chances that Shravani will marry Manav (how she wishes). Other sources indicate that Archana and Manav will actually reunite after this leap, and lots of turmoil and tears of course. The most likely conclusion is that nobody knows what is to happen and everybody is just writing of the conjectures they wish to see. SBB though has shown that Damodar will land up in the hospital and Archana will come to visit him. During this visit, Archana will once again find herself in front of Manav, whom she is trying to separate herself from on the command of Shravani through Savita.

What will happen now? Which twists and turns will this show take? Will there be a leap? What will Manav do about his garage, now that he has lost the case? Will Archana and Manav ever stop meeting, even if coincidentally? Will Shravani ever go into labor? Why is Vandita still living with the Lokhandes? Will Varsha forgive Bhavna? Will Satish remain stuck between his mother and wife? Where does Mohanrao frequently disappear to? Will any more drama happen with the Karanjkar family? What is going on with Vaishali's new prospective rishta? Will we have to suffer from more exposure to Shravani? If yes, WHY?!

As usual, expect the unexpected on Pavitra Rishta.

When you hear the words 'Pavitra Rishta', what comes first in your mind? (Your impression or ideas of a 'pavitra rishta')
God devotee ka rishta , Bhai Behen Ka rishta .

What was the thing that first hooked you to PR?
It was the Maharastrian atmosphere, the suburb Dombivli .{ many serials feature North Indian society- we hardly see other cultures ]

How did you want the story to progress?
Manav supporting Archna throughout and standing by her like a rock. Both solving problems together and increasing their financial capability and showing society that even without education, with practical common sense one can become a success story . Of course I wud love to see both becoming literate side by side .

What is it about PR that keeps you coming back for more?
No more coming back. Divorce put me off .

What do you like the most about our PR members?
They are the best bunch out there. Very civilized, very sporting, very intelligent .They respect IF rules and indulge in healthy debates and at the end of the day, shake hands and depart friends inspite of opposite views.This MIRACLE has happened in PR forum and I think all forums on IF shud take notice.

Now that the divorce has happened, how do you feel? Is this how you had expected the track to go?
I feel disgusted. So for all talks of Indian sanskaars and Shakkar philosophy, Archu agreed to a thing called divorce which does not exist in dictionary of ideal Bhartiya naari from Satya Yuga and we all know Archu is NOT from Kaliyuga at all . Btw , this business of showing Western trashy soaps by cloaking them cleverly in Indian sanskaari language is not unnoticed by us viewers , give us some CREDIT for our intelligence. Break up. Then Make Up. Break Up. Then Make up. Is marriage a gudda guddi ka khel? Divorce for Shravni .Then Marry coz Damodar is dying .Then divorce coz Shravni is dying of hysteria. Is it a Joke? And to top it Western ideas like 'We shall remain good friends'. Arre then decide na.....r u showing Modern India or cultural India? U cannot have Shakkar Philosophy and Divorce in the same breath CVs .They r like oil and water.

What is the best quality you see in Manav and Archana?
None. Useless guys, both.They r the beautiful but dumb type. Good in looks with sadly no upper storey functioning .

Which quality of Manav and Archana do you dislike?
Ummm....which to say ...both have a list of Satyanaashi qualities . But I dislike them constantly putting others before their marraige ............it is unreal and stupid . If this was the case why marry. Become a nun or a sadhubaba na .

How would you put an end to Rasika and Ajit's dirty plans? What would be your form of punishment?
Varsha shud defeat Rasika in MS election and become president. Vandu shud cleverly get all property and money on her name by blackmailing her for exposing her to press when she is still MS president. Rasika should NOT lose all her money.. that is so predictable and lame. Why the hell shud Vandu become poor along with her? The only thing positive in Vandu's marriage is she married rich, much above her . Let Rasika lose financial control- thats a better, believable punishment. Ajit shud be given a solid beating in a public square by MS ladies and he shud be asked to report every week to MS office for lifetime and shud NOT dare to lay a finger on Vandu . He shud get attached to his child and improve . Since castration is not allowed in Hindi serials I give this answer .

What do you think would be the saving grace of this pavitra rishta? How do you expect this track to take a turn-about? In other words, what would be the catalyst in the relation between Manav and Archana?
What saving grace is left after the divorce? Even if they come together now will they ever get respect or charm back like before? In my eyes they are DONE. This remarraige thing makes me sigh. Are we watching Dynasty or Santa Barbara?

Any message to Ekta?
You have dash, pluck, but no originality. Formula runs only so much .......a time comes when it is ousted . If u want this success spree for long, look around at other serials like Pratigya .

Which character of a book/serial/film do you relate yourself to?
Jane Eyre .

Since there are a lot of people who love your posts here and are influenced by them, what advice/direction would you like to give to them?
Do self development and never follow Shakkar philosophy. Never idolize the types of Archu . Learn to achieve the perfect blend of emotion and practicality. The base should be Emotion but the means to preserve that emotion should be practical ............not selling bike of for God Bharaai when garage is closed or serving sherbets in sasuraal when you dont know from where your next square meal will come from .

Lastly, since you write so well- if you had to write a book, what would it be on?
Oh, it would be a something like Wuthering Heights. I love complex characters like Heathcliff . I love Krishna in Pratigya for the same reason. I may write a horror book in future too. Whichever fiction I write, I promise you- my characters will be flawed and complex and will rise by eradicating their own flaws through introspection
