I hope so GM. It would be absolutely pathetic and if they go ahead with this crazy story then for sure I would like Archana to say Yes to divorce and walk out of the court room a free woman ...

Tanya,I'm sure of two things-no divorce and no proper bigamy.

If manav doesnt divorce archana,he'll in no way marry shravani...I mean full-fledged saat phere ki shaadi...I cant see this happening

my parents and in-laws are married in churfh but their marriage has no legal standing. this was the way before but not accepted nowadays. now adays even churches register their marriage.

don't know about hinduism, catholics are not allowed to divorce. annullment is allowed only if ther is violence or if the marriage was not consummated. that means they may live apart but are still considered married in god's presence. with ArMan- what do you think holds more weight or credence as far as marriage rights are concerned? Bappa's blessing or Court's Mohar/ stamp? Aap boliye?

@ Hope,
No, you're not being silly, that's the way it's usually depicted, particularly if both wives are aware of the situation: one's a wife by a legal marriage and the other's by a religious one. Ugly business.
C
Edit: That is, of course, provided the first marriage has been legalized. If not, both could be temple / religious ceremonies, equally lacking in legal teeth. Though these days some courts have been ruling in favour of common law wives and wives from religious ceremonies too.

agree with you on this. seen this argument used in real life. but not to divorce some one instead to give someone marital rights

Tanya,

If CRs show some outrageously silly thing, its upto them...but its perfectly illegal in India to even marry religiously when u dont have a legal divorce.
When before in BT shows, they used to show religious marriages this law wasnt in place...this came into effect in the last two yrs or so(cant remember exactly...but recently)
As of now,it doesnt make sense to show such marriages.
Manav can end up in jail on one phone call from Rasika.
At this point,Manav doesnt look like he'll take saat pheras to please or lessen shravani's anxiety.

if that's the case then I concede. Sorry for creatign this uproar. did not know about this two year old law. beigna devil's advocate here but I do not trust Ekta.

I didnt know about Catholics.
Presently, any hindu marriage in India, even infront of Bappa, needs to be compulsorily registered in court of law.
So,court's stamp comes along with Bappa's blessings...though I agree the later holds more weight.😊
I would like to give some credibility to the CRs of PR as well as to the characters of Manav,Archana.

Going back o Friday's show ,GM I found it so funny how immediately Manav started singing . I mean I thought he would be hesitant , say No first like he did for the pani puri contest ...but when he got the slip with the word asmaan , he started immediately . He was just dying to sing this song 😆
Honestly he should stay in this house for one full month .salochna's pampering and Vaishu Vaishali and Punni's comapany will make him into a much more happier person .....
