Two things they missed out . These dumb creatives , i mean .

1] Look at Sachin's character ..........how he has been portrayed upto now . Bindaas kind of guy , not with scruples or morals like his elder brother , prone to lying and cheating , hardened and chaalu like his mother . Well , such kind of guys do not get a nervous breakdown this easily . They bounce back . The Sachin we saw was a mass of nerves , blubbering and stammering as if he was a very straightforward kind of guy who has been punished for his first crime in the world . Sachin , it must be remembered has eve teased girls , pinched their butts , sold tickets in black , gambled ..........has drunk the water of many corners , to put in a nutshell . So ok he had real feelings for the first time for a girl who made him a better person...........but he wont crumble this much . The police case wont shatter him to this extent coz Sachin has done crimes that wud have landed him in lockups much before this .
2] If no US then no future for me attitude of Sachin will NOT benefit PR as much as his villainy wud have had he lived . They cud have shown that infuriated that he cud not go to Us due to his brother's failed marraige , he starts showing rights over his brother's garages coz Shravani influences him , and a new phase in PR starts where Savita is taught the lesson of her life by Shravani and they all , including Manav miss Archana ...........that ultimately Archana brings Sachin to his senses . They missed out on this one .
3] US is not a place to go and have fun . It is not a place where men and women of loose morals run around half naked , where money is got on a platter , where scholarships are doled out like muffins in a tea party . It is also not necessarily a place where it constantly snows . The concept of US in Indian serials is indeed very crude and ignorant . US in indian serials is a place of scholarships but also loose morals ..........where money is minted easily but culture is lost . This obstinate portrayal of US in Indian serials saddens viewers like me for it only reflects the ignorance of our serial makers and makes us feel ashamed of them .
Killing Sachin off was so unecessary ...........if the actor was leaving or something he cud easily be replaced . The actor had done a fantastic job playing Sachchu chor . The most interesting character who made the Deshmukh life vibrant has been killed off by the idiotic creatives whho will now focus on that insipid character called Shravni who is not even beautiful enough to captivate the viewership .

koolsadhu:-
I could not have explained this better if I wanted to:- Sachin's character and potrayal of Indian media
The discussion in this thread is not about the education quality in India but the bad potrayal of US in Indian television. If anything we're saying that there is wonderful education and it is horrible how they are killing off Sachin in the pretense that his only hope was America.
Of course Sachin would have been devastated by what just happen, but like koolsadhu said, someone like Sachin would have bounced back really easy. If Manav doesn't resort to drinking and wandering streets when his wife doesn't believe him, why in the world would Sachin do that?
We're saying why was America Sachin's only hope? If Shravani showed him the right path then he needs to do everything to uphold that right path, not say his life is over. The creatives killing him off is absolutely ridiculous and a completely dumb move. He was a fun character and would have helped the trps in this whole separation mess.

@koolsadhu1000

Very well put, or if I may quote Rasili Bai from Ghar Ki Laskhmi Betiyann, "Yeh achi kahi meri jaan..." 😆
That's kind of what I was trying to say as well, that Sachin was a bindass/jhakaas person, and it was very out of character for him to do something like that. I think it was an insult to his character. They could have done so much more (like your 2nd point for example). From what I have read on here about the real version of Pavitra Rishta, that would have fit the original story more, with the rift between the brothers bringing ArMan back together. But no, the writers/creatives of this show don't want to use a ready-made super-hit story that they have already bought the rights of, such overachievers, na?
I love your third point. I really wanted to put something like that, but I felt like it would be off topic. The portrayal of the US (or anywhere "foreign" for that matter) in Indian shows/movies is so frustrating. There is no easy/instant money, people do have morals (Have these writers ever met a (usually Southern) conservative Christian? They have amazing morals and manners!), full-ride scholarships are a distant dream for most people, and in many places it rarely, if ever, snows. I still await a show where "Western" culture is portrayed accurately.
Sachin had so much scope, such a shame that they killed him.

Gosh !😊 U watched that show ? GKLB ? I was a regular there with my posts .........do not recall seeing u there .😆 Sometimes i miss blasting that chauvinistic show.
The portrayal of US is so typical , so judgmental , that it gets to me . Because of these serial makers the average Indians there believe that US is a place where money can be plucked on trees , where women are the fast kind and fall in your lap like ripe mangoes , where youth r always high on cocaine or marijuana, where youth always disrespect their elders and backanswer them and dont know the concept of a value called RESPECT , and getting into universities is a roll on a carpet .
They have no idea of the rigorous application process ..........that to get in at next fall , one has to apply the earlier fall ..........almost a year gap . See how fast Sachin's application is processed .......it was laughable.
Indian teenagers r equally disrespectful to elders at times , and do frequent pubs and do many things without their parents knowledge . In fact I know quite some who lie efficiently to their parents . This disrespect thing is common to an age called the adolescent age..........it has nothing to do with being in the US or being an INdian . 60 % of teenagers all over the world rebel . Drugs r sold outside Indian colleges blatantly by drug dealers with corrupt police looking the other way after taking their monthly 'hafta' , and youth in the States do community service , and r involved in many social programs right from high school days like volunteering in hospitals , libraries , Scout work , and many other . An average Indian teenager is far more pampered compared to an American teenager . He goes to college and gets hot meals by doting parents who think it is a big great thing that their son is studying in college and will bring honour to their family one day , while we see the American teenager doing odd jobs to earn his own pocket money , like mowing lawns of neighbours , raking leaves in fall , standing for hours in MC donalds or Krogers in summer vacations ...........things Indian teenagers in middle class familes r not subjected to till they graduate .
The beautiful policy of America to live and let live .........their " I can respect that ' attitude of other religions is never portrayed in INdian serials . Infact religious intolerance is far more in great value India . NRI Indian youth r sometimes far more culture aware than even Indian youth who take their cultural heritage for granted and blatantly ape the West or their conception of the West . The professional dedication of Americans , their ability to throw themselves in social causes and give it their hundred percent is never shown or mentioned in Indian serials . Americans r mocked at as people of loose morals with long hair who call everyone disrespectfully ' dude ' is the general idea . What they do not even understand is ' dude ' is a terminology for ' yaar ' in the Hindi language and that Not everyone in the states have long hair like hippies or green mohawk hair styles . There r gays in India too they just dont come out of the closet , bas .
When I go to India , to my amusement I often encounter comments from my relatives like " This may be happening in your Ammerica but WE dont do it like this here .' This from the very people whose children r lined up outside immigration advisers to get here either on student visas or job visas . Frankly , what do these people who make such idiotic , hurtful and judgemental comments even know about the first thing of US ? It is an awfully judgmental , rigid attitude . The latest irritatingly hypocritical attitude of Indian directors is " We may be poor but we have our culture , we r rich in culture unlike u US guys' ..........and it simply gets to me . If you guys r so judgmental about others , please take a good look into your own cultural roots and then speak for our Indian culture does NOT advocate such arrogance . Half of these idiotic serial makers do not know the first thing about Indian culture in the real sense........their knowledge is superficial and they sell their culture in the most crass way possible . Just look at the portrayal of women in Indian serials . They r only waaris producing machines who do obscure poojas the whole day and tolerate any amount of ' abuse ' in the name of ' good sanskaars ' . Is this portrayal of Indian women true ? Absolutely NOT . So is the portrayal of US or ' PHOREN or AMREEEKA . Whenever these idiots show that message in their serials that HA HUM GAREEB ZARUR HAI PAR HUM SANSKRUTI AUR SANSKAARON MEIN TUMSE { meaning the US ] KAHI ZYAADA AMEER HAI '..................someone from the audience in the awards functions shud get up and publicly blast them saying so go and study ur own culture , truly it is time u did so , coz if ur attitude is this self righteous and judgmental and ur so full of it , something is definetely very wrong ...............either ur so called culture is not so perfect or you are understanding it very wrongly .

Well..... after reading these posts I would like to make a SHORT COMMENT that it's true that even kids disrespect elders in India, Youngsters Go to Pubs in India, children drink etc etc BUT WHAT PERCENTAGE..????????????????????? WHAT's the Percentage of PREMARITAL SEX IN INDIA? WHAT's the % Of Divorce?? How come the % of Divorce is muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch higher in 'some' countries compared to India????????????????
It's also true that INDIAN LIVING ABROAD probably follow religion more than staying in India BUT Indians living abroad consitute even lesser than a minor% of the REAL Population of that Country SO WHAT INDIANS DOING{Or Not Doing} In that COUNTRY MIGHT NOT BE a CORRECT PROTRAYAL Of the Society of that Country...... It's BEST to refer to the SERIALS of that country made by People of That country..... KEKTA might be showing Western Culture in 'bad light' but what we see in the Serials in THOSE COUNTRIES are NOT WRONGLY SHOWN????????????????????????????? There are actually more night clubs,Nude beaches,Living Together relationships,Unwed Pregnancies, teenage pregnancies n last but not the least DIVORCE RATES outside India.... can that be really denied?😲
It's also Partially True that FREEDOM is lot more in FOREIGN Countries compared to the Indian Society where there are many restriction n 'taboos'..... for GOOD or for BAD is a different question !!!!!

Iamindian:-

The stuff that is shown in US serials by the US people themselves, or any for that matter, is wrongly potrayed. It might look like we have tons of nightclubs, scantily clad beaches etc, but we dont' sit at them all day and night long. I mean would you believe a serial like "I dream of Jeannie" or "sex and the city". But if there are people who do, then thats whats really scary.
I understand your point saying that Ekta shows US wrong, but you have to realize she or any other Indian serial maker doens't show India in the right light either. Take for example "Choti Bahu" am I really supposed to believe that parents would send off the unwed daughter with a guy and do everythign in their power to cover up the secret? In PR am I really supposed to believe that Archana, a married woman, would only listen to what her mother says turning a blind eye to everything. Am I also suppose to believe that everyone walks around saying 'my pavitra rishta' all the time?
Ok so fine, everyone in India knows that this is fake, what we're kinda saying is some people may not know that the stuff that they are saying about US is fake and that is very scary.

Well Kshre25.... agreeing on things like in Serials they tend to OVERDO/OVERSHOW things putting extra Sauce on things but I think Cinemas and serials DO REFLECT the SOCIETY actually.....even if it is PARTIALLY.........
Though I do not deny that Serial stories are MIRCH MASALA type but some portions are actually taken from real lives.. SO my point is at least 50% can be accepted as RELECTION OF THE SOCIETY n Its Norms..... in India they show Joint Families BECAUSE THEY STILL EXIST!! I know in Big Cities 90% of families are Nuclear but how much PERCENTAGE of India's REAL POPULATION live in BIG CITIES,GO to Malls, wear modern clothes etc etc? Even in Metro Cities in India HOW MANY PEOPLE REALLY FOLLOW A SO-CALLED-MODERN Lifestyle?? I have lived in a Metro City n I've been always traditional and so do my friends!!
I'm myself an Indian living Abroad but then I'M AN INDIAN after all ..... my neighbours DO NOT EAT THE SAME FOOD/HAVe the same lifestyle or Values that We practice!!!!! The way that I am preserving n maintaining my rules even if I'm away from my native country.... the people of this foreign country where I'm living are following/will follow their rules/ways of life which are in fact VERY DIFFERENT FROM OURS! Me and other Indians' ways of living abroad ARE NOT REAL PICTURES of All other people's way of living in this 'foreign' country!! We don't follow their ways, and they don't Copy ours!!
and the truth is that it can't be denied I guess that in India some restrictions are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more stricter than in western Countries..... it's a different Issue if it's GOOD or BAD but that's true.......... even if people argue that teenagers are wearuing skimpy clothes, going to Night Clubs etc etc but what percentage???????????????????? If you compare the real percentage datas YOU WILL GET A REAL PICTURE OF THE SOCIETAL NORMS of that Country!!

Good point, IamIndian, but you gotta remember people like you and I can think about percentages, and realize everything is dramatized.
But think about the people, like you said who dont' live in the urban areas, what i'm saying that is that it is scary, if they think that a lot of the stuff is real.
You realize that going abroad isn't the easiest thing and that visa's are handed out like candy, and also just because you go there doens't mean your life is made. What we're saying is what about those tons of people who don't realize this, who think this is all true? Wouldn't it have been better if the serial would have shown Sachin to rise about all of this? To show that yes he was dejected for awhile but then he did everything he could do overcome this set back?

If I were in Sachin's place I would've reacted the way he had.... just think of his future being Doomed(He had SUCH BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG Dreams of Going to USA n making his life there- it's a different point if making your life in USA is Easy Or Not but YES.... there are LOT MORE OOPRTUNITIES in USA compared to other countries n That fact cannot be denied) n then his wedding got cancelled..... is a person expected to behave very normally under such circumstances???????????????????????????????????? It's easy to say but practical fact is that human emotions do not follow Logic Or Rules..... it's MUCCCCCCCCCCH EASIER to say about things after loking back but it's even more difficult to handle the situation at that point of time!!!!!
