Vandu is married to Ajit as she was forced to marry him .. She was almost raped by Ajit as she gave a complaint to the police about him nd he wanted to take his revenge .. then Archu slapped Ajit and went to the Mahila Samidhi ( hope I got the right word 😆 ) where his mother Rasika is the President .. Archu said to take a severe punishment or she'll loose her place .. isliye Rasika and Ajit threatened Vandu to marry him or else her family will live in hell ( as they weren't knw 😡) so she married him.
After marriage, Rasika was forcing Vandu to slap Archu for her earlier behavior, as Vandu should take her husband side and support his izzat or whatever ..
