Who is Vandu actually? manav's sis or archana's?

I used to watch this show during the initial phase and loved Sushant-Ankita..Then i took a break and completely lost track.Now i've restarted PR for Arjun and Arjun-Purvi.But m confused about the various characters and relations.I remember Archana had 2 sisters and a bro.One of the sisters was Varsha but forgot the other one's name .Was it vandu? Manav had a brother sachin and a sister whose name again i dont remember.Can someone clear my confusion?

Hi, there have been misunderstandings between Archana and Manav before the 18 year leap. Manav was living in India at that time and his boss had wanted him to demolish his tenement as a project. Manav had at first refused to as Archana kept telling him not to but when a bad company took the project, Manav accepted to do the project and this was one thing that created differences between them.

Archana did not want the chawl.tenement to be demolished as she had a lot of memories attached to that house so she went ahead and did a court case against her very own husband. This created even more differences between them.

Then, Ovi and Teju were born. They had their first birthday party, and Archana had given her son Soham(no longer in the show as of now) away to her sister Varsha as Varsha was obsessed with him. This made Manav very angry at Archana so they decided to move to Canada.

After 18 yrs, Manav gets divorce papers given by Savita(Manav's mom)but she forged Archana's signatures so it could look like to Manav that Archana signed the divorce papers as Savita does not like Archana and she wants to keep her son away from her. This made Manav even more angry. Sachu is working for Savita and he made Archana ask for alimony from Manav. Archana is listening to Sachu's demands without considering her husband's feelings and now Manav thinks Archana is greedy for money. Hope this helped😊

Vandu is Vandita Manav's sister. Apart from her Manav had one brother Sachin who died in the show. Archana has two sisters Vaishali (Vaishu) and Varsha and one brother Vinod.

I assume in Canada Deshmukh isn't a common last name and Tej would be curious about the similarity. Or does she not even know the last names of who she live with.

Deshmukh is a pretty common surname in Mumbai and may be that's why she did not give it much thought.

2) Doesn't Tej question where Archana lives? How does Tej say she is living with Archana auntie, while Archana is living with Manav. Where does Archana live actually, where does she sleep, eat, ect? and doesn't Tej realize she is gone half the time?

Teju knows from Purvi that Archana has gone back to live with her husband. Archana lives with Manav in their old chawl. Teju is staying back with Sulochana and Purvi in Karanjkar house but Archu had stayed with her in that house for few months. That is why she keeps saying she is staying with Archana.

3)How does Saachin manage to have such a hold over Archana? Why would she sacrifice her motherhood to make saachin happy? What is he bribing her with and what was his logic... I missed the episode where he convinces Archana to act greedy in front of Manav... what date was it?

Savita made Sachin believe that Shravani was unhappy because of Archana. Archana used to discipline Sachin when he was young for his own well-being because Savita was spoiling him, but Savita used this to make Sachin believe she used to mistreat him because he was not her son. Savita told him Archana would not let go of Manav and neither will she stay with him. This way Shravai cannot be with Manav so she stays unhappy. Sachin thinks Archana is the cause of his real mother's unhappiness. He also believes through Savita that Archana is greedy. Archana was very happy to see her son Sachin but Sachin was angry with her. This broke her and he asked her that she should divorce for him and make him believe she is greedy. Sachin emotionally blackmails Archana and tells her his mom has been waiting for Manav for 18 years and his family can be complete if she goes away from Manav's life.

4) Who is saachins mom? Is it acceptable for Manav to marry his sister in law? Is it socially acceptable to divorce your wife and marry your sister in law?

Sachin's mom was fiance of Manav's younger but he died before they got married and she was pregnant. Manav and Archana were in the proces of getting divorced for the first time and Manav agrees to marry Shravani to save her child and give her child his name. Yes, it is acceptable for a bil to marry his sil. Infact there are old traditions w.r.t this. If a brother dies, his brother can marry his widowed wife.

5) How is the divorce misunderstanding not cleared up? Is this the typical desi serial misunderstanding that drags on and on until the end of the serial?

It will take time to clear up, probably when six months of their stay gets over.😆

6) Where is Manav and Archana's son and Archana's sister in the show? Archana is blamed to be a bad parent by Manav for not caring or thinking about her daughters, but what about the son. Both are at fault for having their son out of mind, right?

After the leap, they have not showed anything regarding Soham, their son and Varsha, Archu's sister. Everyone in the show thinks they died so probably it hurts too much for Manav to remember Soham.

7) Also are Vinod and Tej related in real life? Is the same last name just a coincidence?

Vinod is Karanjkar, Archana's brother and Tej's maternal Uncle.
