Chapter 30 Lightening bolt

“Are you sure this plan will work?” A nervous Arya asked from Mickey.

“I think it will work. I know Yash uncle and Neil have not talk to each other since months but come on, Neil is his only son and he has no one to else to call as family. And he must have heard the news about Mini joining us for job. I have inquired from his office, he is coming to New York for his business and he will definitely try to meet Neil. We just have to make it sure he accepts all his mistakes and it was his plan due because of which Neil and Mini had to break up.” Mickey shared his view.

“But why he will accept that in front of them?” Arya asked scratching her head.

“He will not , but we have to make him do it somehow….extract it out from him. We need some kind of trigger for him.” Mickey said and started thinking what should be done.

“How about he sees sis and Neil together and feels his plan failed as they both are still together?” Arya smiled brightly on her idea.

“Just seeing them together is not enough. The love should be evident and that is the difficult part because whenever these two come close they re ready to pull each others hair.” Mickey sighed.

“Leave that on me. You just let me know when you will bring him here.” Arya winked at Mickey then they both hi fived.

“Mickey bhaiya, is it the right time to reveal the truth?” Arya again became nervous about the success of plan.

“Yes the time is perfect. I have been noticing these two since many days now. Its like they cant bear each others sight yet they oddly found always around each other. They pretend that they don’t care but try to find solace in each others’ presence. They fight, argue, torment each other, slash each others’ heart by saying bitter words but their heart bleed too in the process. I think the initial phase of not accepting that they feel anything for the other is over now they have accepted defeat. They know that they do possess feelings for each other however those feelings have changed form from love to frustration. Now is the right time to transform those feelings again.” Mickey was adamant to help his friends.

As expected, Yash Oberoi did try to contact Neil to meet him but Neil repeatedly refused. Though initially when Neil had broken up with Mini, he had turned to Yash for guidance, although for a brief period of time but he trusted Yash but soon after his mom’s death, he again started drifting away from his father as he failed to understand him. And once Neil broke his engagement with Isha, Yash was livid and he asked Neil to leave the house and Neil also left without saying anything. He already knew Yash could not be a father; he will always be a businessman first. Yash could not bear that his multi million dollar deal got cancelled because of Neil and he didn’t even stop him when he left the house. Since then their relationship was strained. Over the time, Yash understood that he has become lonely without anyone by his side so he did try to convince Neil to come back but Neil had gone far away from him.

“Neil yaar, Yash uncle bar bar call kar rahe hain. Achha nahi lagta mujhe bar bar bahane banana, mil le na thodi der ke liye.” Mickey tried to persuade Neil as their meeting was necessary for his plan.

“Jab mujhe unki jarurat thi tab unke pas time nahi tha ab mere pas unke liye time nahi hai.” Neil shrugged getting up from the sofa.

“Neil yaar, he is your father, you can spare five minutes at least.” Mickey was persistent.

“You wont understand, his presence reminds me of mom and mom’s death reminds me of how pathetic I am. It was my fault. I failed her as a son. She died because of me.” Neil told the real reason.

“So you decided to run away from your problems like always, how convenient.” Mickey taunted.

“Listen, you…” Neil tried to answer back but Mickey interrupted him.

“You listen Neil, sometimes it is better to face the fears instead of running away.The day you decided to trust your dad, your life changed completely and who knows this meeting can again be an eye opener for you.” Mickey had a mysterious smile on his face which attracted Neil’s attention.

“Why I feel you are upto something?” Neil’s suspicion grew.

“Arre kuch nahi chal raha mere dimag mein. Bas tu maan ja uncle se milne ke liye. Just see him for few minutes and get over with this.” Mickey folded his hands in request.

“Fine!Call him before the concert tonight.” Neil agreed.

The concert was to start in few hours. Mickey had informed Arya about everything.She had come along with Mini on the pretense of enjoying Neil’s performance from back stage. Mini knew she was a fan girl so there was no chance to guess if Arya had anything else on her mind. Hence Mini agreed to take her.

Mini became busy in her work and Arya made arrangement for their plan. She had to bring Mini and Neil closer somehow for at least few minutes so that Yash sees them.All their team members were given necessary instructions by Mickey to help them execute this plan.

Arya had thought of re creating a very special moment for them so that they wont be able to ignore each other. She knew Mini wont come with her easily neither Neil so she decided to trick them. She with Mickey’s help asked the set designer and props department to make necessary arrangement for Neil as a surprise. She created exactly same decoration as it was there on their terrace garden when Neil had come back after winning the competition and Mini had plan surprise for him.

When everything was set Mickey called Yash to come. When Yash arrived at gate Mickey came to greet him and escorted him towards the backstage. Meanwhile Arya on the other hand, kept both Neil and Mini engaged in one or other thing with her so that they would be close when she will cry for help as per her plan. She was waiting for Mickey’s signal. When Yahs arrived at the gate, Mickey messaged Arya.

“Veerbalikaaaa, Neiillll, help me. I am stuck here, I am feeling sick….where are you?” Arya shouted after switching off the lights and as expected both Neil and Mini ran in the direction of her voice to help.

“Where are you Arya?” Asked Mini.

“What happen to you Arya?” asked Neil from the other side.

“What are you doing here?” Both asked from each other at the same time by recognizing the voice as there was dark. They couldn’t see anything.

“I asked first.” Mini snapped.

“No,I asked first.” Neil answered back.

“Where is Arya? Why she shouted for help?” Again both asked at the same time.

“Listen, if this is any of your sick plan to trouble me then…” Mini warned.

“Oh please! My time is precious, I wont waste it on you.” Neil taunted.

“Where is Arya? Can you see anything?” Mini asked when she couldn’t understand what was going on.

“No, I heard her voice from here only but why there is no light here?” Neil wondered.

“I think….ouch, oh God! My leg.” Mini cried as she hit her leg into some furniture.

And as if on a instinct Neil came forward to support her. Both collided and fell down. That was the exact moment lights were turned on.

Mini was lying in Neil’s arms. They were this close after so many years. They could feel their body pressed up against each other and breath caressing each others face. None of them remembered about Arya at the moment.

Their eyes were locked emotions in them had started their own conversation. Though both were in the awkward position but none of them were in a hurry to stand up as it would have ended the wonderful warmth they were getting from each others’ closeness. They had spent so many nights and days yearning for each other that these accidental touches, these involuntary closeness seemed like a soothing effect on the open wounds. Yes, ego mocked them on their weak resolution but soul used to bless them for providing momentary relief.

Reluctantly, Mini made an attempt to get up. Neil also got up to go away from her but then they noticed the place and like their heart just stopped beating. The surroundings oddly looked similar to one of the most beautiful night they had spend together, the night when Neil had proposed Mini on her terrace and they had showered each other with love. The same red and golden decoration, the swing, the flowers.

Both of them were immediately transferred to that moment where their raw emotions were on display and mind stopped working. And as if all this was not enough, suddenly a projector’s light fell on the front wall and there were their pictures together while they were dating. Longingly Mini looked at Neil and he forgot all the hatred which he kept nurturing in his heart for her. Love, it was love, always love disguised in the form of hatred.Unknowingly his hand moved on his own to touch her face. He caressed her face and she closed her eyes to savour his touch. They took another step closer and now they only few inches away. Lovely memories of past had totally engulfed them bitter present was not even a reality anymore. They were in their dreamworld.Neil caressed her face again before cupping it. Mini moved her hands on his waist to hug him and went even more close. They were hugging now with Mini’s head on his shoulder and his hand was caressing her hair.

“What the hell?” A harsh voice suddenly brought them out of their trance and they noticed what they were doing.

Mini pushed him away and realized what did just happen. Neil was shocked how they ended up hugging each other. Who dared to re create that evening? How their pictures got here? Then he noticed the source of that voice who had brought them out of dream. He was none other than Yash Oberoi, his father. YAsh had seen them together and marched out angrily without saying anything. Seeing their plan fail Mickey had asked the team to arrange for mike in vanity room and hide somewhere. He himself ran behind Yash to stop him. He somehow was successful in bringing him in vanity room on the pretext of calling Neil there so he can talk without getting interrupted.

Neil was shocked and so was Mini but what made them more confused was Yash Oberoi was not present there, not at least in their eyesight. Then from where his voice was coming? It had a little echo in it means it was coming from some mike but where was Yash and from where he was speaking? Then to confuse them evenmore they also heard Mickey and Arya’s voice.

“Uncle, today you have failed. All your scheming, all plans which you made to brokeapart Neil and Mini proved to be of no use. They are still together, much in love. Havent you just seen them. You lost your so called deal with Isha’s parents, even had to suffer financially, you are a loser.” Mickey taunted instigating Yash further.

“I am not a loser. I had played my cards well and I was successful in throwing that girl away from my son’s life and get him engaged to Isha but ultimately my son proved to be jerk. He broke the engagement. But still there was peace in my heart, satisfaction that if I lost my deal then that girl Mini also lost her love. If I am not happy then she would also never be happy. And it did happen.That Singh family came on road, lost everything and Mini lost Neil forever.”Yash answered back.

Mickey winked at Arya as a gesture that their plan was working well now they have to keep instigating Yash so that he kept on blabbering and the mike they have cleverly hidden in that place due to which right now Mini and Neil would be hearing all this will come to know the truth.

“Kitne din alag rakh paye aap un dono ko. Aakhir ab to wo sath mein aa hi gaye na.”Arya mocked Yash.

“mujhe samajh jana chahiye tha. Zarur tum aur tumhari behen ne hi kuch kiya hoga. Mujhe darr tha jab mujhe pata laga ki Neil Mumbai aa raha hai aur main waha nahi tha…kahi tum dono kuch try na karo….aur yahi hua. Mujhe pata chala kaise tumne phir se Neil ko phasa kar apni behan ko phir se uske peechhe laga diya aur yaha naukri ke bahane se tum dono uske pichhe aa gayi. Isliye main aaj Neil se milne aaya tha taki use samjha saku ki phir se us Mini ke jaal mein na phase.” Yash replied back.

Neil and Mini was flabbergasted by the whole incident. First someone made special arrangement to bring them close and as if the emotional roller coaster ride was no enough now these voices were making them further confused. They just stood at their places and kept waiting what more to come. Never did they know that truth is gonna strike them like a lightening bolt, sucking out their life and leave them burnt.

I have always liked him from the season 1

I always thought he is there to be mini's bf which means best friend now and boy friend later. But dont know why they brought preet twist in between them. After preet became his gf then also mini used to have confused feelings about him...remember. i thought rajita is playing here about teenage relationship problems and confusing feelings and mini will finally accept her feelings for mickey which will cause rift between preet and her. Later everything will end well as preet will realize mickey also never loved her.

But They gave this soulmate or soulfriend or whatever twist to mini- mickey relation and brought sadu and sexy chef neil for our mini....due to which I and everyone else forgot about mickey like he never existed🤣
