Yes I agree with you. If this is what put you off, they could have certainly handled it better and not rushed it and it was too in-your-face and people usually don't talk like that plus they aren't that old.

The thing is I do know that people talk a lot behind people's back but not like this directly to the person. And then I have no idea how it is in Patiala.

Yes the subtlety was certainly missing!

I think the editing was off and also, there was something about the scene where he went upstairs to convince Babita to smile for the sake of the effort the kids were putting into all the arrangements.

Also the scene later when he talks to her about log kya kahenge sounded too much like a moral lecture to the audience, which is not PB's style. I know why they did it but still.

Yes I agree. I really hope they are not buckling to pressure and feel the need to so overtly justify the storyline and storytelling. Just not their style. Understatement and subtlety is what makes it so beautiful different and relatable. Yes it did strike a jarring note.

Sad that they are facing so much backlash for doing such a commendable job of narrating a realistic story with ordinary characters.

Such a lovely episode smiley32smiley32smiley32

Well Mahi my prediction for once was not a popat. So it is the kuch toh log kahenge that bothers Babita no end and once again complete contrast between her and Hanuman Singh. You can see his maturity, his understanding of the world, the set mindset of people that he has complete disregard for because he is such an evolved human being thanks to his own life experiences, seeing his abused mother, Imarti changing his perspective on life, on women, etc. He is beyond all this.

And what was lovely was how he carried no baggage at all vis a vis Babita after the police station convo. He was natural with her, comfortable, at ease, caring, concerned and above all the way he painstakingly explains his perspective to Babita, after the Khatri incident, and then she is back to the pavillion despite all his educating her during the priest's kuch toh log kahenge moment and he once again manaofies her, desperate to put the smile back on her face but in this instance it's Minnie who eggs him on.

He is like a man on a mission. Mission educate Babita, make Babita happy, be it by singing be it by doing a take off on Rajesh Khanna and his iconic dialogue and he does succeed in making her smile.

He even comes up with an even more revolutionary suggestion, why not go in for a live-in relationship and this time he is wiser thanks to Minnie's explanations of what a live-in really means smiley2 to put an end to people's speculations, comments, etc. but backs off when he sees how disapproving she looks, well more disapproving than scandalized I must admit and passes it off as a joke.

We can see that he is bending over backwards to keep her happy and telling her only what she wants to hear but even then trying to educate her, make her also evolve and go beyond all this.

Well it's not going to happen overnight but today for the first time I felt that it would be possible because this man has mounds of patience and only good intentions. Babita is finally on the path of self discovery and evolving guided gently by Hanuman Singh.

Despite all this Babita is still unable to stomach the beauticians careless banter of the kuch tog log kahenge variety.

So it's going to be a long haul for HS but he will do it! Kudos to him!

As for Minnie she also has a lot to learn and accept now that new family is getting formed. We could see that from her reaction to the pizza episode in the precap.

All the best to her and all the best to Babita. As for HS I have full confidence in him. I just want Lala to lend him his shoulder when HS will need to vent out.

Kudos to the makers.

Thoroughly enjoyed the episode.

Just a thought...why do we always have to compare HS and Babita...y can’t v jus accept thm the way they r..I mean..I personally come from a very liberal bg and I think many of u do...so when v think our way v might just feel ke society does not matter...be it late marriage ( nowadays Many are single at evn 35 by choice) & r pretty cool abt it...so is everyone around ...forget the gossip ...but otherwise v don’t meet ppl reacting on our lives every day..in cities like Mumbai many have really been much on their own and independent...but mayb thus somehow I try to always try to think of how ppl in small towns think or issues they face...as in here Babita got married at 18 an age where most children now are care free and totally not bothered of anything ..she belongs to a conservative background(bg)...with might b orthodox upbringing (Pati Parmeshwar) types and thn having faced wat she did it has only been shown to have impacted her all time...to expect her to change honestly is not so easy...ppl change ...ppl don’t..some take less time some take more...some want to fly as they have been restricted all life and whn they see the world outside they want to be a part of it...some feel they are the best the way they are so they don’t need to change...so it is too many things ...right from bg to willingness to liking to acceptance ....hence she is like this ...nothing wrong.. if v try to become Babita for a while this is how v wud b ...infact if she does not react then it might b a problem as how the sudden change ...transformation if it happens will be gradual but otherwise this is Babita...plus if it transformation does not hpn thn v have to love her like v loved her very initially as whn u love someone u accept the person as he she is...just like HS and Babita have accepted each other...so while HS tried to tell Babita she need not worry abt wat ppl say...Babita also accepted HS when he did not react to Khatri or anyone..m saying she accepted HS as for her also his not reacting was something wierd (as from her perspective it was necessary to react)...for me both have a different personality so none is big or small ....hope they just turn out to be a lovely couple...pls don’t get this wrong ...agn just a perspective ...🙂

I have felt from last few days HS has closed himself off. Something is missing. I don't know if it is the script or Aniruddh's exhaustion but something is different. I can't pinpoint what it is but something has changed. His expressions are perfect but.... I can't describe what I am feeling.

He has closed himself off since the night Babita and he fought over his drinking and all the Imarti-related incidents came up. That is consistent with his character.

He is being over-protective and his insecurity is driving a lot of that behavior. I have already said a few times that this is a major flaw of his that they need to address. He is also now afraid to do or say anything that will tip things over because he understandably wants the wedding to go ahead without any hitches. He wants a little bit of peace and to give everyone, including himself, some space. Can you blame him? All three of them have been through enough, especially recently. He especially wants some stability for Minnie, and I find nothing wrong in that.

He is putting things on pause and like he reassured Babita, the three of them together would figure things out and have a good life as a family. But for now, he just wants to enjoy these moments that only come once in a person's life. That's his perspective.

All the things that have been swept under the rug will surely come out later. Writers never forget and neither will the characters. It will be beautiful to watch, don't worry. They have set the stage for the issues to be dealt with in a major way and weave tracks around them.

I just read the thread on PH tweets. Sad that they have to justify every single thing just because of some people who can't see a story as story. When a writer pens a character, it comes alive and speaks for itself. Sadly nowadays people don't read literature and know nothing about characterisation or plot. TV characters have been unidimensional for more than a decade now and people who have grown up watching such shows know nothing about characterisation or script.

Nowadays there is no story or characters in ITV shows, only hero and heroine. Fans of these hero/heroine give the much required trp. So PHs have to bend to whims and fancies of these fans. With that story and characters go to drain. They expect every show to be like that. Hence the backlash for PB which attempted something new and did't create any hero/heroine/jodi but only characters. But I can never understand why people are bashing a child artist just for playing her character with conviction. I feel really sad for Asnoor. I hope it doesn't affect her peace of mind.

I know right. I just hope they don't buckle under pressure that's all because it's beautiful only because of how simple the narrative is.

I wish they would read our comments also to know how much we appreciate what they are doing.

Yes very sad about ashnoor. She is doing such a tremendous job of it!

Also most of these bashers are just not able to accept that Paridhi aka Babita could be shown flawed and object to the word ego. They don't mind words such as insecurity, etc. but Ego, no sir!

There's really mass hysteria going on..

I agree with you.

The comparison was not made with the intention of maligning Babita's character. Just as I understand where he's coming from I understand where she's coming from. Just calling a spade a spade. She has ego issues, she has issues about how society at large perceives her. So be it. She has her own baggage. So be it. He also does. So be it.

Was just trying to analyze as to why he reacts differently that's all.

I totally understand Babita, chill. I just want her to work on her issues that's all and also question herself. Why does she feel she can behave in a certain way with HS whereas she never did with ashok and company? Is it because she knows HS will take it and not give it back to her? Then she must introspect because he deserves better treatment and more love.

Basically I would love to see her evolving and I am positive she will in his company. Change is the only constant after all in life isn't it?
