Alimony versus self respect

I want to thank the CVs for yesterday's episode in which they showed how Babita regretted not taking the alimony.

Taking alimony in cases like this does not mean "not having self-respect". I agree with what HS had said...Alimony in such cases is a right. A legal right of a victimized woman and she should get it. It should not be misconstrued as not having self-respect.

In the show if we go by emotions, it is true that I did not want Babita to take the money after Ashok insulted her in the worst way possible. But then..this is drama on TV. Real life is much harder. Sometimes, the woman is really in dire need of that money...at least till she becomes self-sufficient.

So I am glad the CVs made it a point to bring out this truth about alimony.
Another good week for Patiala Babes. Hoping for many more such weeks as long as the show is on air. 😊

Totally agree . Babita has lived her last 17-18 years as his wife, she has a teenage daughter with him. It's actually both their rights to that alimony. Which was what HS was trying to make them understand from the start. But I guess after being character assassinated and humiliated by him she didn't wanna take money from him. She gave into her emotions in a hurry, poor woman. Hope she gets a job soon...

So true
Plus it her right, she should have taken it atleast for Minni
If she didnt spend a dime on herself that was fine
But being an emotional person, all the humiliation only for money got to her and she decided to not take it

Agree. It was her character assassination that made her change her mind. But the alimony was her right. Let's hope she gets a job. She should also know how Mini sacrificed her studies due to lack of money.
And look at Beeji...even after seeing Babs has not accepted alimony, she did not give the stree dhan back to her. Beeji seems to be very selfish lady...

Very true. I am also wondering why Beeji is not giving back the stree dhan now that she knows Babs has not asked for alimony. I mean...none of the Khuranas are even thinking how Babs will do guzara...

Even I am thinking the same, why Beeji and Dadu are not thinking about giving her stree dhan back to her.

It is only hers and did not got from Ashok, right? Then why?

Atleast this way Mini can be able to study na.

Even if babitha get a job, how can she be able to pay for thousands few one thousand, but it will need lot of ten thousand, as since now days a college fee is goes above 60 thousand even when it is not that popular college.

Will Mini try to get scholarship?

My cousin's parents are bemoaning saying for one semester they are paying nearly a lakh.

Very true. I wish she had taken child support at least for Mini's education. Let's see what happens. Friday episode she realized the harsh realities of the society. Hopefully, she will learn now.

I shudder, when I will have children and by the time they would grow up, the college fees would rocket much more on another twenty years and not to forget even school fees are not less now days.

Education is sure had become very costly.

I remember in one of the episode when babita is reluctant to take alimony and not practical in various matters, thinks emotionally all the time this is when HS tells lale that "jab yeh zindagi ki thapede khayengi na tab inhe pata chalega"
Even i liked the way cvs brought into light the alimony issue.

Yes Divya very very true. I absolutely love how HS motivates them but let's them fight their own battle. It's something we say about toddlers when they learn to walk...let them fall...then they will learn to rise and walk...😊

I am glad the CVs clarified the alimony issue because real life Babita s should take it as it is their legal right.
