Parivaar's lead actress refused to shoot until her dues were paid

Tough get going: Deepti Devi

Deepti Devi, the lead actress of Zee TV's Parivaar, Deepti Devi, decided to act tough when she refused to shoot at Kamalistan Studio. Reason: She hasn't been paid her dues from April onwards.

Unfair deal

Says a source, "Miditech (producers) has been very unfair towards Deepti. They had no right to treat her like this. She is justified in refusing to shoot."

When contacted on Monday afternoon, Deepti sounded disturbed. "I am not shooting for Parivaar today. I have worked overtime for this show.

They are not only withholding payment for those extra hours, but have held back my regular basic pay also. I have tried talking to them but they didn't listen. I had no other choice," she says.

"Vishal Mehra (supervising producer) says that he'll go to the Cine Artistes Association and complain about me since I didn't shoot today. But I am asking for my right. I will not shoot until I get all my dues," she adds.

Another actress from the show, Shweta Shinde had a similar problem. She too refused to shoot, but Miditech sorted out the problem. "I had a problem. But am rushing to the shoot now. They gave me my cheque today," Shweta says.

Deepti was last seen in four Marathi serials and two films — Sumar Ek Sangharsh and Pak Pak Pakak. In February this year, she bagged Parivaar.

Omh, I hope this is solved soon and Deepti isn't replaced or she doesn;t quit or something like that.

oh no.. why are they doing this to her? in dulhann, divyanka was having some problems cos her pay was too low. but here it seems deepti hasn't even been paid yet.😔 lord.. why are the production houses so unfair on their lead actresses? if you notice, only actresses seem to have this problem, not actors.😕

please don't quit deepti. you are always radha & will be. the production house better resolve this problem soon.😡😡
