Part 6

At the hospital doctor examined Siddhi. After seeing the reports, he looked quite impressed

by her recovery and gave her further instructions to be followed on the path to complete

recovery. The physiotherapist told her a few exercises to be done daily. All the while Kunal

took a careful note of doctors' advice. Siddhi returned home all exhausted. She took an

afternoon nap and Kunal took this opportunity to go out and meet his new client.

Kunal returned home when it was almost time for dinner. Kunal entered his room to see

that Seema had already brought dinner for Siddhi and was helping her eat when there came

a loud sound from her room.

Seema: Ye Ishaani, Anokhi bhi na.. Lagta hai phir se jhagda karte - karte kuchh tod diya.

Siddhi: Bhabhi aap jaaiye, bachchon ko dekhiye.

Seema: Par tera dinner?

Siddhi: Main kha loongi bhabhi...

Seema: Theek hai pukka kha lena.

With this Seema got up and left for her room. Siddhi felt relieved as she did not want to

have porridge again. She kept the bowl on the table beside the bed and took a sigh of relief.

Kunal was observing all this.

Kunal: Siddhi, ye kya? Khana khao.

Siddhi: Nahi Kunal please. Mera mann nahi hai.

Kunal: Mann kaise nahi hai? Khana khao phir medicine bhi leni hai.

Siddhi: Aapne dinner kar liya? Aap jaake khana kha lijiye. Main bhi kha loongi.

Kunal: Waqeel sahiba, aapne Seema ko toh bewakoof bana diya. Par main bewakoof nahi

banne wala. Ab jab tak tum khana khatam nahi kar leti main toh yahan se jaaunga nahi.

Left with no other choice, Siddhi attempted to take up the bowl from the table when she

experienced a sharp pain at her shoulder exactly where she was shot. Kunal quickly came

towards her seeing her wincing in pain.

Kunal: Kya hua?

Siddhi: Kuchh nahi. Shoulder mein thoda sa dard hua bas.

Kunal: Isiliye toh keh raha tha na main ki time par khana khao aur time par medicine lo.

Kunal took the bowl and took a spoonful near her mouth.

Kunal: Lo, khao.

This time Siddhi could not say anything and simply obeyed him. Seema came towards their

room to see if Siddhi had her dinner or not. There she saw Kunal feeding Siddhi and quietly

came out, softly closing the door behind her smiling. "Chalo accha hai, dono akele thoda

time spend kar lengein", she thought.

Siddhi was opening her mouth and Kunal was taking a spoonful every time feeding her

almost mechanically. Both of them were lost so much in each other's eyes that both of them

did not even realise when she finished her food. Kunal forwarded an empty spoon towards

her mouth. Siddhi opened her mouth. Kunal's eyes caught the empty spoon in his hand and

he quickly withdrew his hand. He tried to pretend that it was not his mistake.

Kunal: Pehle to tumhein bhookh nahi thi. Ab kya spoon bhi khaogi?

Siddhi realised what she was about to do. She was lost for words. She quickly changed

the topic to save herself from the embarrassment.

Siddhi: Aap ne khana nahi khaya na. Aap bhi kha lijiye.

Kunal: Haan ja raha hoon.

He left the room with a slight smile on his face.

He returned in about 30 minutes and gave Siddhi her medicines. Then he sat down at his

desk to complete some pending work.

Siddhi called out: Kunal...

He kept his file at a side and turned towards her.

Kunal: Haan bolo.

Siddhi: Maine newspaper mein padha aap ke case ke baare mein. Paper mein bahut kuchh

likha hai, aur ye bhi ki Thakral sir toh media se baat kiye bina hi wahan se chale gaye.

Sach mein aisa hua tha kya?

Kunal: Haan, kyun tumhein doubt hai kya?

Siddhi: Nahin main toh aise hi poochh rahi thi. Maine ye sab miss kar diya na. Bechare

Thakral sir ka toh chehra dekhna wala hoga.

Kunal's impression suddenly changed to an angrier look.

Kunal: Koi bechara nahi hai woh. Richa aur Rohit toh apni sahi jagah par pahunch gaye ab

Thakral ki baari hai. Abhi toh bas shuruat hai. Iss baar main un sabko nahin chhodunga.

Picchli baar toh unhone bas mera career barbaad kiya tha, par iss baar toh tumhein, meri

Siddhi ko chot pahunchayi. Ab main...

He stopped suddenly realising what he just said. Siddhi was looking at him dumbfounded.
