Yesterday's episode, mostly filler except SINAL scene.
What I didn't like most - Veena giving lecture to Kunal. We had right to get angry on Siddhi😲 what right do you have? if it wasn't for your lunacy, Siddhi might have talked to Kunal instead going for stupid deal. Second, you are her husband so you must be with her, once you left her she lost zest to live. Agree Kunal must be with her all the time; but who was that individual who tried to emotionally manipulate Kunal into getting married constantly for 9 years? Taking "Kasam" and advising to use Siddhi's Ansh to make Kunal say yes? Again if you were less manipulative, things could have been different there. But why talk about lunatic person.
Little background - human mind is complicated thing. Often we can not provide reason for our own actions or inactions for that matter. But there comes few times when deep down we feel we have failed or there is some type of fear, we put anger on our faces and try to blame other as defense mechanism. It is often unconscious. This can be utilized so well with Kunal I think.
Pre-leap, famous temple scene of "Kunal Chopra is dead." I remember damn well Kunal saying, "I am burning inside as I failed to instill trust in Siddhi." Relating to what Siddhi said to him in their last meeting. So it is safe to say Kunal was blaming himself here. Then we saw Kunal afraid of life, court, unable to look into mirror, not celebrating B'day; in short complete self-destruction and very little concern of self-preservation. Again it seems he himself didn't care to live much. Again here claims were it's because he was hurt by Siddhi's betrayal, but once she came back he tried picking up the pieces here, so was more like her absence that bothered him.
Then came most ridiculous explanation at Karjat station. I can't even call it stupid as it would insult to the word. But I say this business of diary, gifts and letter has given wonderful opportunity. These gifts and letters, Kunal said he thought of giving them to Siddhi when he meets her. So even during 9 years he was entertaining this idea or had hope of meeting her to confess his love. But then what stopped him as Gaurav asked? Again whole "killing baby and hurt" thing comes no where near the reason as it is beyond stupid.
I say they can provide explanation as follow - after temple scene Kunal decided because of his love for Siddhi he would try to get her out of jail. He had job then, allowing him to buy gifts for Siddhi and whenever he felt down, he wrote letter. But he kept them with him thinking once he meets Siddhi, he will give it to them. But he failed to get Siddhi out, he failed miserably for whatever reason (why not use Richa here). He started loosing hope to get Siddhi out and her last words of how Kunal never fulfilled his responsibility strated dominating him. He had thought he would go meet Siddhi with good news that she will be out. Now that it didn't happen, he got scared. How can he face Siddhi being failure to save her once again and what if she rejects him again. With this failure and fear in his mind, he started hiding his love from everyone. To provide a shield, he started giving reasons of blaming Siddhi to comply with everyone else as family never knew how much Kunal loves Siddhi. But his self-destructive behavior suggest he really blamed himself for whatever happen.
Now some may say it might not fit well as Kunal had said something different at Karjat station. As I explained before, when we blame ourselves for something but are too afraid to acknowledge it, we put up defense and try to shift blame on others. But the behavior exposes what we really feel. So if Kunal really believed Siddhi was wrong, why ruin your life for her and these gifts, letters and so much love for her? No he blamed himself for it. Psychologically speaking, this would be better explanation in general and especially for Kunal considering his complex nature.
I wish once Siddhi regains consciousness, Kunal can be shown sharing this directly face to face. He can first apologize, then confess he was afraid that she would reject him or say she doesn't love him, hence he didn't come to jail. (during B'lor trip all he asked to Siddhi if she loves him, didn't care about hurt or killing baby thing at all, so again..) This way Kunal would expose his vulnerability to Siddhi and how he really is blank without her.
In return Siddhi too can say she also feared for Kunal's safety. She never wanted to leave him, but fear for him was so powerful she made the deal and she too is sorry for that.
I am not asking for this so people can feel sympathy for Kunal. My reason for this is it would be consistent with the character, bring back the meaning that SINAL use to have and help us reconnect with them which was gone due to no proper explanation. We never doubted their love for each other, but still something felt incomplete. now we have that chance with gifts and letter Besides, this can be perfect beginning of their new life, starting with complete honesty.
CVs - so far my wishes have come true. I wanted Andy to open his mouth he did, wanted to see blank pages of diary and we did, wanted to see Kunal next to Siddhi holding her hand and Siddhi moving her finger, responding to only Kunal. All that happened so now please I ask you to give us such conversation between SINAL. It would be so meaningful and make a promo on it. 😊
