Chapter 2 –

Siddhi was shocked to hear the name Kunal Chopra.

Kunal walked-in to the conference, standing right next to Siddhi. Siddhi was still shocked that this akdoo is Kunal Chopra as she was still staring at him. Kunal pulled a chair out using his leg and sat on it like he doesn't care. He looked at Siddhi who was still staring at him. He pulled another chair out and invited her to sit down. Siddhi slowly sat down on the chair while everyone else was still standing. Kunal very casually looked at their opponents who were dumbstruck with him walking in.

Soon everyone came to reality and managed to take their seats. Siddhi was bit happy to see this. Just a moment ago, all of them trying to bully her as she was alone. But now she had the Kunal Chopra with her. Finally she gets to meet him, well actually work with him and every word she heard about man was true. One of the biggest lawyer of India was perspiring seeing Kunal Chopra. But the best part is, Kunal Chopra came there with her.

Richa, "Kunal tum yaha, wo bhi iske saath?" gives mean look at Siddhi.

Thakral, "I see. Finally you have come out of your dormant status. So the great Kunal Chopra is working for this small law-firm or you are trying to get back to me…"

Before Thakral finishes off, Kunal raised his right arm hinting everyone to shut up.

Kunal, "I have not come here to say hi to all of you. I believe we are here for a settlement so better get on that. If you have questions about me, well I don't care so juts shut up."

Siddhi was now even more happy to see this. Kunal Chopra made all of them shut up in one second. Finally when the man spoke, something good happened instead of irritating her. She wishes this continues, first big shot lawyers get shocked and now not even able to say anything. Nice…

Kunal moved towards Siddhi and hinted she should began the meeting. Now with full confidence and attitude Siddhi began discussing her case. She put forth what her client demands and how it was very reasonable. Thakrals obviously had to counter anything and everything she says. While all this is happening, Kunal doesn't say a word. He let Siddhi do it all alone. After about an hour, Kunal sees that Siddhi is exhausted and she is facing three very good lawyers alone. So Kunal thinks of intervening at this point by clearing his throat first which meant, everyone shut up. "Well if we take a look at this thing clearly, it is a reasonable offer."

Just then Anand Chopra thought of interfering, "well the reasonableness depends on….

Before Anand can finish, Kunal gave him a sharp look saying who do you think you are?

Kunal took a heavy breath in, looked at Siddhi who was starting to lose her energy and said, "why don't you all just cut the crap. It is very obvious that Thakral is the one defending company against bonded labor, after all partners in crime. So just tell us what the hell is your offer and save the damn headache."

Thakral smirks, "Finally the great Kunal Chopra speaks. Well Kunal Chopra, you are the one who has come here to settle this matter not us. So we offer you nothing, well my client doesn't care to offer you anything. But for the good days sake, we are willing to throw you a bone." Thakral ended with insulting tone.

Kunal obviously got irritated, but Siddhi too was angered by the last statement. Kunal stood up right then, urging Siddhi and other to stand up as well. Kunal, "it's your ego that is barking right now. Don't worry, you and your client will pay for it" saying that Kunal went for the door and Siddhi too followed him.

Thakral, "wait Kunal." Kunal didn't care to even turn while Siddhi did. Thakral continued, "why are you building bridges in air. Your prime witness was shattered on the witness stand. You case was very weak to start with and now is on oxygen, so go threaten someone else. You sure don't care about yourself, but at least let this girl have her career."

As soon as Thakral finished, Kunal walked out, followed by Siddhi. Once they came out Kunal stopped on the pavement to think for a moment.

Siddhi came to him with hopeful eyes, "I did not know you are" Kunal gave his usual akdoo look at her and Siddhi knew she needs to cut to the point, "anyways. So does it mean now you will be taking over the case and I will be the second chair." Siddhi finished with some joy in her voice.

Kunal, "First of all, I don't go to court anymore so I am not fighting any case. Second, if you go to court with what you have so far, you will lose without a doubt."

Siddhi's face got pale. Her enthusiasm was crushed right there. In one moment she had so high hopes given this is Kunal Chopra but what just happened. She took few steps back and was about to fall down the pavement but Kunal grabbed her hand and pulled her up. Siddhi came out of her trance and looked at Kunal, "Thank you for that, I just.."

Kunal, "Don't say thank you. It was pay back. You had grabbed my hand without my permission, well now we are even." He ended with attitude. Siddhi was baffled as what the hell? What is it with this guy. Sure he is Kunal Chopra but what's with the attitude?

Kunal, "I have some other place to go. You can go back to office on your own right?" Siddhi nodded yes and before she gets to say anything Kunal was off to where ever.

Siddhi reached the office and told her boss Mr. Rathod everything that took place. He too didn't know what to do so he asked her to just leave it for the day. They can talk about it later as nothing came to mind at the moment. Siddhi went to her desk, didn't feel like doing anything. So as her usual habit, Siddhi went near the window that was next to Kunal's desk. Siddhi was standing there for a while and no one came to bother her. Just then she heard, "negligence."

Siddhi looked back it was Kunal sitting at his desk. She looked at him with questionable expressions as what? Kunal again said, "Negligence. You will have to add that to make your case stronger."

Siddhi came near to the desk, "but my case is about bonded labor. Now this negligence..

Kunal, "You case sure is about bonded labor. But your prime witness has lost his credibility on the very first hearing. Your client too is not most liked guy, so you will not be able to go with it anywhere. Besides, the corporation is not going to settle that easily outside court and in court…

Siddhi, "So why don't you take over and fight this case, they all fear you very much..

Kunal, "Again, I no longer fight any cases in the court. I am just a legal consultant and I will do my work if you can please listen first. Your case of bonded labor is weak. It is very common for such companies to use contracts. But your client was working on assembly line for whatever period and he was injured there and company wasn't very much empathic towards him, right? I bet many more people were injured and are still getting injured there. So it would be good idea for you to find more of these people who got injured on the job. That will make your case stronger. You can use negligence to support your bonded labor arguments in later phases. Also adding negligence with more people coming in will also buy you some time."

Siddhi took a moment to think about it and damn it this guy is right. He is really Kunal Chopra who has solution to every case. She said, "thank you very much. You are right, that will make the case stronger…"

Kunal, "I know I am right.."(with attitude) as soon as he finished, he stood up from the chair and went towards the door as it was already time to go home.

Siddhi still standing by window was shaking her head as this guy is really too much. "I know I am right, god what an attitude. But then he is right" Again for some reason, this guy truly has an impact on Siddhi and she is not able to get what exactly is it……..
