Good news is BadRash is finally dead. Kansi-poo stabs him because he failed in his mission.
Bad news is we got a crazy Devaki scene, and a huge chunk of the episode dedicated to BadRash trying to hunt down the babies in a small cave.
Summary:
Gokul-vasis head to cave to hide from BadRash and his men, but obviously they see them. Whilst doing a Shiva-Puja, a cowherd tells Nanda that BadRash's men are headed this way. Nanda notices a door on the top floor, and he instructs all the ladies to drop their babies there. Badrash comes in, knows that Nanda is lying, and searches the place and fails. He notices the door.
Maa Lakshmi is getting all worried that BadRash might find the babies and kill them all. She implores Narayan to do something, and Narayan was like "Honey Bunny, what's gonna happen is gonna happen. You can't change it, nor I."
As one of BadRash's men get closer to the upstairs door, Maa Lakshmi closes her eyes and begins to pray. Narayan lifts his hand and water comes from it. Maa Lakshmi opens her eyes and notices what her sweetums is doing.
Baby Krishna meanwhile is having a blast squirming like the cute little baby he is. He kicks a mini boulder or something and that bursts open the door and ... you guessed it! Water comes pouring down. Think about it like a dam bursting.
BadRash runs away, and Nanda and co. are left surprised.
<At this point, I couldn't help but wonder why none of the parents were scared that their babies might be drowning in this pool of water that emerged from the very room their children were in. Faith, I guess?>
Anyway, Maa Lakshmi is all rooti-tooti now, so Narayan has to manaava her. I didn't pay attention to this part.
BadRash returns to Mathura, reports his failure, and Kamsa is like "All of the Gokul children disappeared?! Failure. Oops I stabbed you."
Putana steps up and takes responsibility for failing to notify Kamsa that night Devaki's 8th was born, and she asks for one more chance. Kamsa lets her go with a warning that if she fails ... she will die too.
Putana turns into her hideous baby eating form.
Somewhere along, Devaki has a meltdown and she's screaming at the guards through the door so they can call Kamsa over so he can throw her off the open balcony, just like he killed her 7 kids.
I have to admit, I'm not liking the switch back-and-forth between Earth and Vaikuntha. The Lakshmi-Narayan scenes, while very romantic and flirty, is just becoming to cliched. It feels like the same thing I've seen and I'd rather see a creative liberty than something like this. Also, I guess it can be played off as their Leela, but the constant "save them! Do something Narayan, etc." of Lakshmi is getting a bit annoying as well.
Also, from a previous episode -- I wonder why they gave Vrishbanu the dialogue of something-something let's stand up to Kamsa and his army and show them what happens when they mess with our children. Nanda's reply was they didn't have enough time to get an army ... but seriously - cowherd men with sticks and stones versus an actually military with sharp weapons.
Overall, I'd give today's episode a solid 5.5/10. It's watchable, and the Krishna part is super cute (but short), but you could skip it.
