so the family cannot have people who eat non veg come over or be friends with them and will they even go to someone's house who does? oh wait that fake canadian is probably non veg so will she be treated differently if she does eat food she likes or her canadian dollars are as good as cow dung lol getting political her but India is one of the biggest exporters of beef in the world top 5 oh the irony lol
what they are showing is not only Not current, it is highly offensive. Showing any vegetarian family will go extremes if their children / family members eat no veg.
where the fact is, there are Many Hindus, who eat veg- non veg both! Any coastal regions population: Seafood is staple. (somnath veraval belt has most fisheries in Gujarat & local population -including Hindus- do eat fish. Gir-Somnath : the Lion region , nonveg is common local diet)
It is not uncommon, nor this chaotic as they are showing.
So many families with both food Habits. Some don’t cook at home , some keep utensils separate but this ‘shuddhikaran’ and all they are showing is clear indirect spreading of phobia- worse , they are doing it using children!
As if being vegetarian is crime & you are not able to accept anything else And eating nonveg is crime & you will get punished!!
This shouldn’t air.
If I talk of my family: My Daadi was Punjabi: she used to cook & eat meat.
my dada was vegetarian. My mom is veg. My dad nonveg.
I don’t eat meat , trying to go vegan but milk & mithai are my guilty pleasures, so vegetarian. My husband & kids eat non veg.
it’s not such a crazy big thing as they are putting up.
Gujaratis are predominately vegetarians but as I mentioned in sea belt people do have seafood as part of staple local diet. Gujarati Hindus have jain, swaminarayan, Vaishnav community too- which avoids any roots in veg diet - like they don’t eat onions/ potatoes/ carrots/ etc.
In Gujarati weddings : you will see ‘Jain’ counters : meaning food made w/o onion garlic or any roots.
No Big deal!!! It’s called respecting each others food habits.
Making mockery of beliefs & habits on either side- taking jibes with ‘comedy’ is not done. It is offensive.
You eat- you eat , you don’t - you don’t! Simple!
