This show has a penchant to take things to such extremes and then to trivialise that and pretend nothing major happened. They do it with both the situations as well as the characteristics.
While not unexpected, still disappointing to see the reluctance to show Shiva realising where he keeps going wrong and finally putting efforts into fixing that. Once again the burden is on Raavi as if she is the only person in this marriage, and that apologising to her once absolves Shiva of all the wrongs he did and of any responsibility he had to even attempt to save his marriage (which he claims is dear to him).
It is really sad that the message they seem to want to convey is to stay in unhappy marriages no matter how badly you are treated (or how many times you were treated like that) because you love that person and won't be able to live without them. Also, if you think you will forgive them further down the line, don't be angry at them at all and just forgive them immediately.
It leaves a really bad taste in my mouth because this does happen to people stuck in bad relationships in real life. They already struggle to get out of it and then have people around them downplay it or even act like they are the ones in the wrong & are overreacting - "Why stretch the matter?", "It's not a big deal", "They made a mistake but they do love you", "You are making a big mistake", "You are destroying your marriage by your own hands" and in case children are involved "At least think about the kids".
While we talk about wanting shows to get progressive and relatable, but sadly until the audience rejects this kind of narrative nothing will happen. The makers will have no reason or motivation to change the status quo and will continue pushing out such stories.
