Raavi turned in her bed for the umpteenth time, blowing a piece of hair away from her face, and raising her legs in the air as she swayed them back and forth. She had been mindlessly scrolling through her phone for the past hour hoping that something would catch her eye and keep her busy, but so far, nothing had helped. She stared at her screen again and sighed.
11 a.m.
She couldn't help but feel extremely displeased with how excruciatingly slow the time had been passing by. It was only eleven in the morning and yet she already wanted it to end. She was bored out of her mind with nothing to keep her occupied. She wanted to be anywhere but here: within the confines of her room. She had called to ask some of her friends if they wanted to go out somewhere, but all of them had declined, leaving her all by her lonesome. Apparently, she was the only one left without a plan.
Raavi usually always had Pandya Niwas to fall back on when nothing else worked out, however, today, that wasn't possible either. The entire Pandya family had gone on a trip to their ancestral haveli for the weekend. She had wanted to tag along as well, but despite her many pleas, her maasi ma didn't allow it, and her maasa pa wasn't in town either to back Raavi up. She had eventually admitted defeat when Prafulla refused to budge from her decision.
Now, Raavi had no idea how to spend her day. Seeing as it wasn't even mid-day yet, she decided to do a mini room cleanup. That would keep her busy...for a while, at least. She started by picking up the clean laundry that she had just piled up over a chair as the week passed by. One by one, she hung them up in a hanger and lined them up neatly in her closet. Feeling satisfied with her closet, she moved on to her next task. Deciding her bed needed a makeover, she changed the bedsheets and pillows and put the used ones in the washing machine. Next up, she vacuumed her room. And the last thing she did was clear the piles of paper lying all over her desk messily. When she was done, she prided herself for the good job she did. That was oddly therapeutic for her. Not to mention, her room looked spick and span. She hoped she wouldn't make a mess out of her room the very next day. She then took a long and relaxing bath before going through her daily dress-up routine.
Checking the time again, Raavi was surprised to see that it was only 1 pm. Unbelievable!
She decided to check in on Prafulla and Anita to see if they needed any help with chores. But she found them watching a daily soap instead. She tried to catch their attention and ended up being shooed away.
"Kisi ko meri padhi hi nahi hai!" Raavi huffed to herself. She resolved to take a stroll outside. The weather was pleasant enough. Maybe, she would end up finding something to explore. The clear blue sky gracing her surroundings was calling out to her.
Saying a quick goodbye to Prafulla, Raavi set off on her 'exploration adventure' as she would like to call it. Undoubtedly, there wasn't much to explore. She knew it. Her feet proactively led her to the nearby shops instead, as if they had a mind of their own. She loved shopping! And that's how she ended up spending another hour.
While Raavi was walking, she ended up passing by Pandya Store and her lips turned down into a frown when her eyes didn't find him. She was so used to seeing him there all the time. But of course, he's not there today; the entire family's gone for the weekend. And something just felt amiss. His absence left her longing....for what, exactly? She didn't know, not yet. Waving a quick hello to kaka who was handling the store, she started walking once again.
On her way back home, she stopped in her tracks when she saw the door to Pandya Niwas open. Her mouth dropped open in shock.
"Aise kaise ho sakta hai? Dhara di ne toh kaha tha ki pura family trip pe ja raha hai? Toh yeh darwaza khula hua kyun hai?" Raavi wondered out loud. Was she lied to? No, that couldn't be! Dhara di would never. Either way, she was elated to know that someone was home. Her curiosity lit up the spark within her that she had been missing the whole day. She walked towards the door and slowly peeked inside, her head stopping midway as a thought occurred to her. What if someone had broken in? The thought terrified her. But someone had to protect Pandya Niwas if that was indeed the case! It had to be her!
Mustering up all the courage she had, she lifted her head and walked straight into the house. To her surprise, she found a reason to be excited, instead. She felt the gloomy haze draping itself over her the whole day lift itself instantly. Her eyes visibly brightened upon seeing her grumpy bhootnath inside, working on repairing something on a makeshift workbench. Ah, his favorite pastime.
Without hesitation, Raavi walked further inside, her steps now filled with an extra bounce as she called out to him.
"Aee bhoothnath!" Raavi yelled out chirpily.
Shiva stopped what he was doing and slowly turned around, putting down the tool in his hand on the table. The calm look in his eyes was immediately replaced with aggravation.
He didn't look too happy. But when was he ever happy? Raavi giggled to herself.
"Ae chipkali! Tu yahan kya kar rahi hai?" Shiva boomed in a thundering voice.
"Nice to see you too, Shiva!" Raavi rolled her eyes and walked up to him, setting down her shopping bags in a corner in the process.
"Chal nikal. Abhi ke abhi." Shiva pointed towards the door, wasting no time in voicing out his emotions.
"Shivaaa!" Raavi whined. " Abhi abhi toh aayi hoon! Rest toh kar lene de. Tujhe pata bhi hai main poore din kitni bored thi?! Mujhe nahi pata tha ki tu yahin hai varna main kab ka yaha aa jati!"
"Issi ke wajah se toh bhabhi ko mana kiya tha ki tujhse kuch na bole. Pann tu bhi khoon peene waali chudailon mein se ek hai. Pata nahi kahin se bhi aakar tapak jaati hai. Ek din bhi chain se nahi guzarne deti." Shiva muttered under his breath, but Raavi heard every word of his.
"Hawww! Isska matlab tu yahin rukne wala tha aur mujhe bhanak bhi nahi lagne di." Raavi pouted. She had wasted her entire day when she could've been there with Shiva, annoying him to his wit's end. The time she lost made her dramatically clutch at her heart as she glared at the man in front of her.
"Oh, and by the way, main chudail nahi, pari hoon, pari!" Raavi stated haughtily, her nose flaring in the process.
Shiva scoffed. "Tera pari banna impossible hai. Pann jo tu already hai, ussi mein khush reh, samjhi chipkali?" He put an emphasis on 'chipkali' before continuing. "Ab tu yahan se nikalti hai ki tujhe kheech ke bahar nikalun?"
"Main kahin nahi jaane wali. Yahin rukungi aur tere sar pe nachungi!" Raavi retorted in defiance, crossing her arms across her chest.
Shiva stepped forward menacingly when Raavi started screaming at the top of her lungs. "Bachao, bachao! Yeh aadmi mujhpe hamla karna chah-mmgmffffffffff!!" Her voice trailed off into a muffle as Shiva covered her mouth with his hand, once he realized what her plan was.
"Ae gadhedi! Mere ghar mein ghuss kar mujhe hi fasana chahti hai." Shiva narrowed his eyes at her while Raavi looked at him in surprise. Her voice had died down the minute his palm had come in contact with her mouth, and her lips. It left her senses tingling with an unknown emotion.
Shiva removed his hand from her mouth and warned her. "Tujhe rehna hai toh muh pe tala laga kar ruk, varna phut le."
Raavi scowled at him. "Haan toh main kahan bolti hoon?!"
Shiva gave her an exasperated look and she backed away. Finding purchase on a nearby cot, she sat down and her eyes immediately drifted towards Shiva. He had dived right back into his work. She watched him with a scrutinizing gaze, observing the scrunch of his brows in what seemed to be resolute determination. His muscles contracted in a mesmerizing manner as he lifted his arms and moved forward with purpose. The slightest hint of perspiration was visible on his temple. It was all strangely alluring. Him being clad in his vest and jeans didn't help her situation as she looked on, enchanted. And just like that, thirty minutes went by swiftly while she remained invested in keeping track of his every movement.
She only budged from a stance when a yawn escaped her lips; she knew she had to let loose. She was itching to talk, otherwise, she would fall asleep. Getting up, she stretched her limbs before walking up to him confidently.
"Shiva, I'm bored." Raavi gazed at him expectantly.
"Toh main kya karun?" He replied, his eyes not even moving to look at her.
"Baat kar na mujhse!" Raavi poked his biceps slightly.
"Main chipkaliyon se baat nahi karta." Shiva shrugged her off.
When she prodded him again, he didn't respond and continued working. He was good at that. Ignoring her i.e. Damn that bhoothnath! Letting out a disgruntled sigh, her eyes chanced upon the tools he had placed on the workbench, and her curiosity immediately got the better of her. One by one, she picked up every little tool, trying to figure out how in the hell did they work. What was so fascinating about them that Shiva didn't even bother looking at her in their presence?!
Just as she thought that, she noticed Shiva glance her way, and looked away crossly. "Gadheda!" She thought.
When she picked up a tool that was placed the farthest from the rest, Shiva's booming voice brought her out of her exploration.
"Neeche rakh." Shiva ordered.
"Kyun?!" Raavi replied defiantly. So now he wanted to talk, huh?!
"Akkal ki dushman! Haz cheez mein ladhna zaroori nahi hai. Lag jayegi tujhe, issliye bol raha hoon. Usska metal tip mat chhuna, garam hai." Shiva scolded.
Raavi's eyes widened when she realized that the bottom part of what she was holding was indeed giving off a cloud of smoke. "Par yeh hai kya?!" She mumbled.
"Soldering iron hai. Iss se main yeh bike ki fairing ki tooti pieces ko jod sakta hoon." Shiva explained. He continued talking for once, and she gazed at him in wonder. He had lost her the minute he went into the details. However, the passion with which he spoke intrigued her. She continued nodding, pretending to understand everything he said.
When Raavi's phone rang after a minute, she mindlessly placed the iron down among the rest of the tools and walked away to attend the call.
Ten minutes later, she heard Shiva yell out accompanied by the sound of metal clattering on the floor. Immediately cutting her call, she ran off to him to see what was wrong. When she reached him, she saw him clutching his right hand with his left while the soldering iron lay on the floor. She put two and two together.
Grabbing his hand in concern, she blew streaks of cold air onto it, hoping to soothe the burn. She saw him wince as more apparent beads of sweat formed across his forehead. Dragging him to the kitchen, she opened the tap and pulled his scalded palm under a stream of cold water. Seeing him flinch made her heart drop. She saw him ball up his other fist in what she could only assume to be pain.
"Tujhe dhyaan dena chahiye tha na...dekh, kitna jal gaya." Raavi mumbled in a small voice, not taking her eyes away from his hand.
"Aur tujhe dhyaan dena chahiye tha ki tu uss iron ko kahan rakh rahi thi." His voice was dripping with irritation.
"Galati hogayi..." Raavi managed to speak out as her throat clogged up; she felt the guilt within her building up, making it hard for her to even look at him. "Tu yahin ruk. Haath ko paani ke neeche se hatana mat. Main jaldi se haldi paste bana kar lati hoon."
Three minutes later, Raavi gently patted his hand dry as he leaned against the counter. Shiva had resisted her help at first but when Raavi threw a glare his way, he relented and let her do what she wanted. She was surprised her 'look' worked, but his hand was her main focus and soon, she forgot all about how quickly he had given in to her. She scooped some turmeric paste with her fingers and tenderly spread it all over his palm. She hissed when she felt him flinch again. The paste must be stinging him. The red welts over his skin didn't help her case and she sniffled lightly. This was all her fault.
"Ae phoolkumari, chot mujhe lagi hai lekin dard tujhe horaha hai..." Shiva broke the silence.
"Haan toh? Sab tere jaise Superman nahi hote!" Raavi growled, feeling a tear prick the corner of her eyes. Blinking furiously, she finally looked up at him and thought she had seen the slightest hint of a smile on his lips. When she tried to look again, it was gone. Maybe, she was imagining things.
"Lekin mard ko bhi dard hota hai, Shiva. Tujhe chhupane ki zarurat nahi hai. Mere saamne tu 'hisss' kar sakta hai. Main kisi ko kuch nahi bolungi." Raavi stared sincerely, still holding his hand, as if it were a promise.
"Tu mujhe Chattan Pandya bulati hai, na? Aise kaise dard hoga?" Shiva acted nonchalant.
"Sorry...." Raavi mumbled when she saw him wince despite trying his very best to act tough. She saw right through his act.
"Tere muh se yeh shabd shobha nahi deti." Shiva managed to speak out, a slight hint of mirth apparent in his eyes.
Raavi gaped at him with a look that was in-between 'anger' and 'concern.' Anger because he was brushing it off as if it was nothing, and concern because the man had really lost it this time. Was this the calm before the storm everyone talked about? She wondered. Was he going to strike and get his revenge right when she didn't expect it?
Ever since they were kids, Shiva had a habit of settling their scores and leveling them out. Whenever Raavi had done something to him, he would return the favor. God knows how many times he had ended up scaring her. He really did come up with devious plans.
"Dar mat. Kuch nahi karunga." Shiva rolled his eyes.
"Tujhe kaise pata main kya soch rahi thi?" Raavi asked, confused.
"Bachpan se jaanta hoon tujhe. Chudail hokar bhi sabse zyada fattu hai."
Hearing his words, Raavi glowered at him, and accidentally pressed upon his injured palm, watching his face scrunch up in pain.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry. Galati hogayi!" Raavi pleaded, realizing her mistake, and giving him the puppy dog eyes.
"Aaj kuch zyada galtiyaan nahi kar rahi tu? Aur unnke badle itne chhote chhote sorry bol rahi hai?" Shiva rasped out, looking at her curiously.
"Aur kaisa sorry chahiye?" Raavi asked innocently.
*****
Raavi regretted ever asking him that question. He was the devil reincarnated. She should've known. He was now taking advantage of her guilt to the fullest degree. She didn't mind cooking for him when he asked her to. She was going to do it for him anyway. But he didn't stop at that. He made her wash his clothes and clean his new storeroom-turned-bedroom. That was frankly too much cleaning for one day. Raavi thought and scowled as she swept the courtyard and cleaned up after his makeshift workbench which had turned inexplicably messy after the incident earlier.
When Raavi was done, she looked up and saw Shiva staring at her with an unwavering gaze. She looked away, feeling heat creep up her cheeks. Stop it Raavi, what's wrong with you? Hardening her gaze, she put her arms on her hips and stared straight back at him. She watched as his lips curved up into a smirk. How had he turned the tables on her? Wasn't supposed to be the one annoying him today?
Feeling displeased with the strange turn of events, she huffed and walked past him to the kitchen. She was starving. As if it was an innate reaction, she grabbed two plates and filled them with food. Walking out, she set them on the table, before sitting down.
"Aakar thoos le!" Raavi called out to him. Not being able to wait for him any longer, she dug into her food.
When Shiva arrived, he looked at her once and shook his head. "Aur tu mujhe bhukkad bulati hai."
Raavi's eyes bored into his and narrowed on their own accord. Not wanting to start an argument that could possibly last for ages, since neither of them liked losing, she kept mum and focused on her food, which was absolutely delicious. Why wouldn't it be? She made it after all.
Fifteen minutes later, Raavi sat on the table, watching Shiva struggle with finishing his food. It's not that he wasn't hungry, but he was having slight difficulties in being able to use his hand properly. Since his right palm was injured, he was using his left hand to eat, and quite inefficiently so. He was making a mess, much like a toddler would, and the sight made her chuckle.
She cleared her throat on purpose and watched his eyes strike up and glance her way.
"Tujhe agar help chahiye, toh tu maang sakta hai." She offered in a sing-song voice and watched him shake his head furiously in retaliation.
Shiva continued with his tirade while Raavi chewed on her bottom lip, amused at the visual being presented to her.
Ten minutes later, they were stuck in the same position and Raavi heaved out an exasperated sigh. She took his plate away from him and started scooping some of the sabzi with the roti.
"Chipkali, plate waapas de!" Shiva demanded.
"Nahi. Aise toh tu poori raat laga dega khaane mein. Yeh le." Raavi offered and lifted her finger to his mouth.
"Ae pagal chipkali! Main baccha thodi na hoon. Tere haath se kyun khaun?" Shiva grumbled.
"Harkatein toh bacchon jaisi hi hai" Raavi stated smugly, indicating towards the mess he had made on the table. She watched his face flush and cooed internally. The great Shiva Pandya was blushing in front of her. She made a mental note to pen this down in her diary.
Shiva's mouth snapped open to refute, and shut, just as quickly right after. When he didn't retort, Raavi raised her brows in surprise.
"Ab kha bhi le. Itna kya soch raha hai? Main kisi se kuch nahi bolungi. Humari...dushmani ki kasam." Raavi insisted while giggling.
She observed him contemplating his options and smiled when he gave in with his signature frown. It was a little peculiar at how quickly he gave in. This was the second time during the same day that he didn't put up much of a fight against her. Not thinking much of it, for now, she continued feeding him while starting to talk about a random topic. During her animated chatter, Shiva kept adding his disapproval of her talks with random placements of a 'sigh' or a 'grunt' in between, all of which got dismissed by Raavi pretty swiftly. This was the least he could endure after making her do all those unnecessary chores earlier. Payback was sweet!
*****
Thirty minutes later, Raavi plopped down on the couch beside Shiva, grinning at him widely.
Shiva rubbed his temple before gritting out, "Tujhe ghar nahi jaana?"
Raavi shook her head innocently.
"Kyun?"
"Kya matlab, kyun? Mujhe bhi film dekhna hai. Chalu kar na." Raavi stated cheekily.
"Toh uss maami ke ghar pe dekh na?! Mere sar pr kyun din bhar se taandav kar rahi hai?" Shiva glared at her.
"Ek secret bataun?" Raavi whispered. "Maasi ma ko lagta hai main apne dost sheetal ke ghar pe hoon. Maine unnse keh diya ki mujhe ghar aane mein der hojayegi."
Shiva blinked, once, twice, thrice, before letting out a sarcastic laugh. "Maami ko pata lag gaya na ki toh yahan mere saath hai, toh tujhe kamre mein band karke rakhe gi hamesha hamesha ke liye."
Raavi frowned.
"Sahi hai waise, shayad tujhse chutkara mil jaye." Shiva wondered, smacking his lips on purpose.
"Ha ha. Funny. Lekin teri kismat itni acchi nahi." Raavi promised him. She leaned towards him to snatch the remote out of his hand but he was too quick to move away.
"Dur hatt. Teri marzi ki movie nahi lagegi." Shiva snickered at her before pressing play on a movie.
Thirty minutes into the movie, Raavi felt herself being bored to death. The movie so far contained lots of conversations and nothing else. There were no funny scenes, and definitely no romance. How absurd?! How could anyone ever watch this?
"Shiva, yeh bahot boring hai. Kuch aur laga na." Raavi drawled sleepily in between a yawn. When she didn't catch a response from him, she gathered enough energy to look over at him, only to find him fast asleep already. His head was resting on a cushion, his injured hand lying to his right, with his legs propped up on the coffee table in front of them. As drowsy as she was, Raavi couldn't help but smile at the vision in front of her. It wasn't every day she caught Shiva sleeping in front of her like a baby. She scooted closer to him and reached over him slowly to grab the remote. Switching off the T.V., she turned her dazed attention back to Shiva.
Yet another yawn escaped her lips. She felt her eyes droop close while her head slowly rolled over to her right in a hazy state, specifically towards where Shiva was. Her head met his biceps and she sighed at the warmth emanating from him. He felt so cozy and comfy, she couldn't help but shift closer to his side. With her head resting upon his upper arm that acted as a cushion, she further clutched onto his left forearm on instinct, using it as a substitute pillow that she was so used to holding every night. Soon enough, she drifted off into deep slumber, feeling as light as a feather.
The next morning, Raavi woke up to someone shaking her, while a shrill screech made its way into her eardrums. She winced at the noise. There was only one person who sounded like that.
"Maasi-ma, sone do na." Raavi mumbled, burying her face into what she thought was her pillow.
A gasp was heard followed by an "Ae gadhedi! Uth." and a "Dur reh meri bacchi se, rakshas!"
Raavi groaned and squeezed her eyes shut tighter. Maybe, if she kept them closed, she could go back to sleeping peacefully while the annoying voices would disappear. But alas, that was out of the question as another voice boomed in.
"Yeh kaagdi ki bhatiji kya kar rahi hai mere bete ke saath?!"
"Maa, shaant rahiye. I'm sure bacchon ke paas kuch logical answer hoga."
"Bhagodi ki beti, tu apna inglis ka jhanda mere sarr pe mat jhaad!"
"Ayee Dhara! Tere iss shaitani devar ne mere phool si bacchi ke saath theek nahi kiya hein."
"Ae maami!! Teri phool si bacchi mujhse chipki hui hai, main uss se nahi."
"Lag gayi lanka!"
"Everybody calm down. Hum baith kar poora dishcushion karenge."
"Maa, Dhara, maami, tension mat lo, please."
Raavi's eyes snapped open in anger at the multiple familiar voices ruining her beauty sleep.
"CHUP RAHIYE SAB LOG! PLEASE." Raavi yelled out.
Everyone gawked silently at a sleepy, but furious Raavi as she blinked profusely.
As Raavi's eyes adjusted to her surroundings, she realized she wasn't in her bedroom. And this wasn't a dream. She looked over to her right and found herself glued to Shiva's side. She slowly glanced up at him and saw his brows furrowed in annoyance. Their eyes locked and she felt her breath being knocked away at the intensity radiating off of them. She blushed in return, lowering her gaze. She had fallen asleep on Shiva. She was stuck to his side the whole night. She never went back home last night. No wonder her maasi-ma was so angry.
Raavi winced once the realization settled in. She fisted her palms and heard Shiva yelp.
"Chipkali!" Shiva hissed. "Haath chhod. Yeh kya naya torture karne ka tareeka apnaya hai? Naakhun gadana band kar."
Raavi gaped back at him in horror and quickly let go of his arms. Feeling the awkwardness of the situation creeping up her cheeks in the form of heat, she focused her attention back at Prafulla, giving her a weak, innocent smile.
"Maasi-ma. I can explain. Aap-" Raavi tried to explain but was cut off.
"Ab kya ekshplain karegi Raavi beta? Kaand toh kar diya tum dono ne, hein." Suman spoke authoritatively. Meanwhile, Krish chortled in response but stopped when he received a glare from Shiva.
"Kaand? Kaisa kaand, kaki? Humne kuch nahi kiya! Aap-" Raavi got cut off once again when Shiva stepped in. Why wouldn't they let her finish her sentence?!
"Maa, humne kuch nahi kiya. Woh kya hai iss chipkali ka toh roz ka-" Shiva started but he got cut off as well. Raavi giggled out loud when their eyes met again. Serves him right for cutting her off. In turn, she received a scowl from his side.
"Raavi, meri dikri, sach sach bata. Iss rakshas ne kya kiya tere saath?" Prafulla asked, glaring daggers at Shiva, and snapping him out of his staring match with Raavi. He glowered back at her.
"Aye Maami, tune sawaal ulta poocha. Yeh poochna chahiye ki teri yeh bacchi ne mere saath kya kya kiya." Shiva thundered in annoyance.
Raavi slapped Shiva's shoulders in return and pouted at the lies spouting from his mouth. He wasn't helping their case.
"Hey mhara bhogilaal! Yeh din dikhane se pehle mujhe utha kyun nahi liya."
"Eh kaagdi. Apna d-arama band kar. Ab ek hi cheez kar sakte hai." Suman intervened.
"Arreh koi humari baat toh sunn lo!" Raavi pleaded.
"Kaand toh hogaya. Sametne ke liye inn dono ki saadi karwa dete hai." Suman declared.
Chaos ensued.
Dhara wanted to object at first, but finally nodded hesitantly while Gautam wished he could be anywhere but here. He'd rather be getting juice for everyone.
Maami screamed. "Ae Suman ben, kya bol rahi ho?!"
"KYAAA?" Shiva and Raavi both yelled out simultaneously.
"SHAADI?"
"Iss chipkali se?!!!"
"Iss bhootnath se?!!!"
"Hargiz nahi!!!!" Both Shiva and Raavi hollered in sync.
"Ae, tu meri line kyun chori kar rahi hai?" Shiva growled.
"Toh yeh baat main tujhse bhi pooch sakti hoon na?!" Raavi snapped back.
"Lo yeh dono phir shuru hogaye." Dev shook his head.
"Made for each other!" Krish clapped his hands in excitement.
As the family continued with their squabble, Shiva and Raavi looked at one another miserably, wondering how they would get out of this mess.
*****
2 Years Later
Raavi tossed in bed, her eyes still shut, as she hand reached out for her human pillow. When she felt her hand connect with his face, she laughed and opened her eyes. He grunted lightly in displeasure, turning onto his side to face her sleepily.
"Tu itna dur kyun hai?" Raavi asked, pouting.
"Tu neend mein kick kar rahi thi...phirse. Issliye." Shiva mumbled, his eyes shutting again slowly.
Raavi chuckled and scooted closer to him, wrapping her arms around his torso.
"Tujhe pata hai mujhe kis cheez ke baare mein sapna aaya?" Raavi whispered, her hands crawling up his back slowly and settling within his hair, slowly playing with the strands.
"Hmm?" Shiva acknowledged, tightening his hold around her waist.
"Yaad hai humari shaadi ki baat kis tarah shuru hui thi? Ussi ke baare mein sapna dikhayi diya." Raavi snickered, waiting for the change of expression on his face. Her words pulled Shiva out of his half-drowsy state while his lips transformed into a frown.
"Mat yaad dila, chipkali." Shiva groaned instantly, burying his face in the crook of her neck while Raavi giggled at his expense. He was still embarrassed by how everything had come about, while Raavi loved to remind him of it all every other day or so.
It turns out that neither of them had wanted to get out of the 'mess' their families had created two years ago. And it had all worked out in their favor.

AN: This OS was partly inspired by the episode when Shiva burned his hand back in the haveli and partly by my childhood shenanigans (i.e. I have indeed held a soldering iron in my hand. Let's just say it's not fun!đđ)
The ending is a bit chaotic, nothing was planned. And so it might be subject to changes in the future since I'm still not so sure about it đ Anyways, hope you all like it.
I might've taken a few digs here and there towards the end. Let me know if you find them. I think they're pretty obvious hehe.đ¤Ť
