Shiva was beginning to get anxious now, the Chipkali hadn’t shown up at his house or the store, in fact this had been going on for a while now, ever since the Chipkali had fallen in love with that idiot, she had been avoiding everyone, choosing to spend all of her time with him, and when she was not with him? The Chipkali talked to anyone and everyone about him. Honestly Shiva didn’t even understand what was happening with the world anymore, the Maami ki behen ki beti had managed to rid him of his sanity, her and her stupid boyfriend. What was wrong with her? Almost everyone he knew hated that guy, Krish had gone to the extent of telling Raavi that to her face, Shiva smiled as he thought back to the confused and outraged look on her face! He had given Krish extra pocket money for that and had bought him extra WiFi cards that whole week. He tensed once again as he thought of Raavi, it was very unlikely of her to not show up to his house, if not for anyone else she would definitely come for her Dhara Di and Suman Kaki everyday, she had even begun to avoid Dev, her “bro” and bestie, as for Krish, she had not even spoken to the poor guy ever since he had apparently “insulted” the pig-faced idiot before her, Shiva thought that Krish did a very good thing, he was being honest and honesty was always the best policy, and as for him? She barely even argued with him anymore, gone were the prank wars and the Pani-puri eating competitions and the countless hours they somehow managed to spend in each others company, the Chipkali devoted all her time to that idiot boyfriend of hers! Shiva was certain something was very wrong with that guy, just his name was enough to piss him off, what an annoying name that idiot had, Manav! Urgh it really didn’t help that Raavi kept walking around with him, basically hanging off of that dudes puny arm and calling him her Maanu, Munnu or some weird nickname she would come up with, seriously WHAT DID SHE SEE IN THE IDIOT?!?!. However things were going out of hand now, he decided, Raavi was never like this and Shiva decided that a random dude could just not monopolise all her relationships, especially theirs, Shiva was not going to allow that, Shiva was anything but not adamant about that. No random Manav could just waltz in one day and take his Raavi away, there was no way in hell that Shiva would allow that, not after being in love with the Dobi since when he understood love, but no the Chipkali was busy being a supreme Dobi at this point. Shiva had begun to get so vexed that he wanted to bang his head against a wall, but then decided against it as his face was just to beautiful to ruin like that, plus Raavi would have never let him off scoot-free if she found out he “damaged” himself, at this point he wondered who even was the boyfriend, he was the one who paid for her daily pani-puri snack, does all her stupid tasks for her, makes sure she has her assignments done! It was not just him, the Dobi always ran to him with everything, a tiny little inconvenience and she would come barging into his room or the store screaming his name for the entirety of Somnath to hear. For a very long time people at their college had thought that they were dating and he had managed to keep people from flocking to Raavi by letting people run their mouths, otherwise he know what a mess college could have been, then came the fact that Raavi was an actual Chipkali until she was not, until that dratted Manav showed up. He was practically stewing away in anger and jealousy when his Maami barged into the house crying miserably. Shiva was instantly on his toes, alert wondering what had gone wrong, the only time Maami had willingly come to the house was when Raavi had been really sick and was not listening to anyone, he felt a cold sense of dread envelop him as he thought about what could have happened.

“Aaaee Dhara, meri Raavi aayi thi kya yahan?”

Dhara who had come running out from the kitchen listening to Maami’s loud wails, she was confused at what went wrong, Raavi had called her and had said that she would stay home all day, she had something about having to study, She had been under the impression that Raavi wouldn’t come over today. The ruckus that Prafulla had caused upon her entry had kept the entire family occupied as Shiva thought back to what happened, amongst loud wails, screams and panic Shiva tried to connect the dots, it was that good for nothing Manav he was sure of it, his friend Arjun had dropped by to the store yesterday to mention that Manav had come by to pick up a sim-card from his electronics shop, he had thought that Shiva had ought to know of it so he had mentioned it to him, Raavi also hadn’t been replying to his texts or calls at all, the Dobi had done something again, just as he tried to figure out what was wrong Anita came running into the house in a panic, yelling about a few of Raavi’s belongings along with her jewellery to be missing, as the entire family flew into panic it dawned on Shiva, the Dobi had eloped with the pig-faced ass. Anger surged through him like a hot bolt, setting in his stomach and blurring everything else out, what was wrong with the girl, she kept doing such stupid things, anxiety began eating him inside out as he thought of what could have happened to her, what if she hurt herself, he figured that they wouldn’t be able to get too far away, throwing Krish a re-assuring look he ran out of the house, determined to get to Raavi, he called up Arjun who came with his other friend Vasu in his car, soon enough they were out of city bounds and on the highway, hoping to get a glimpse of Raavi along the way.

Raavi on the other hand was beyond tensed and anxious, Manav had been pressuring her to get married since quite some time now, but Raavi was beyond apprehensive, she didn’t want to get married, at least not so soon she was just 21 years old, but when he had come crying to her yesterday and had stated that if it wasn’t her then it would be no one else she couldn’t help but agree to him, she knew that her MaasiMaa would never agree for her marriage to Manav, she hated him more than anyone else, hell Raavi could bet that she hated Manav more than she hated Shiva, as her mind went to Shiva she couldn’t help but feel even more anxious about this elopement plan that Manav had concocted, he had said they would stop by the Somnath Highway dhaaba and that a couple of his friends would come and get them, away from Somnath and to Ahmedabad, Raavi couldn’t help but feel unsettled and fearful, at Manav’s behest she had run away from home with a few jewels and other belongings of hers, including a couple of things that Manav had gifted to her. Soon enough they had reached the dhaaba and as Manav went to order them some food, Raavi carefully took out the few pieces of jewellery she had and hid them away in her handbag just to be a little safe.

Manav on the other hand had no intention of running away with Raavi, his job was simple, he would take the jewels and hand over Raavi to the guys who had been lusting after her for a while now, it was a win win situation he thought, he would make easy bucks and it wasn’t as if he cared about Raavi, he snuck into the washroom to make the call to his accomplice before Raavi got suspicious of his intentions, she had been on edge the whole time they were on their way here and Manav was worried she’d spoil his plans, he had painstakingly managed to get Shiva away from her for a day, so that she wouldn’t tell him what their “plans” were, just a few minutes more and Manav was sure he’d have his gold. Nothing could stop the fortune that was on his way.

Shiva on the other hand had was tensed in the car, as Arjun drove, he was itching to drive himself, to try and get to Raavi as soon as possible, no matter how fast Arjun drove Shiva found it slow, he tried racking his brains thinking of where Raavi could go when it struck him that he had her live location, she travelled a lot by foot and after a particularly nasty incident he had made sure that he had her location with him at all times, and knowing the Chipkali she might not have turned off her location, grabbing his phone he smiled in triumph as he got her location, she was at Somnath’s highway dhaaba, he was sure she was with that Manav, now nothing could stop him from getting to her.

Manav meanwhile had managed to make the call to his friend Rahul, he had been after Raavi for quite some time, but she had never paid much attention to him nor did that Shiva let him close to her, Manav sighed in irritation as he thought about how difficult it was to get to Raavi and to finally begin dating her, and that dumb woman every time she was with him she kept yapping on about Shiva, Shiva this Shiva that, he honestly didn’t understand what was wrong with the both of them, the fought like cats and dogs but if anyone else said anything to other than would flare up, and this idiot of a “girlfriend” he had? She refused to even hold his hand but when she was with Shiva she was somehow always all over the guy?! The relationship that the both of them shared confused him immensely, he was brought out of his thoughts when his phone buzzed loudly, Rahul was here. It was time to get his gold and get rid of Raavi.

Raavi had just finished washing her face and had gotten out of the bathroom, she held her handbag with a strong grip from where it was slung over her shoulder, it had expensive jewels that she knew her MaasiMaa cherished, guilt churned heavy and strong in her being, she was betraying her family, she thought once again of Shiva and she had to restrain herself from calling him to come and get her from here, she had to be strong, Manav was her love and she was doing nothing too wrong in her opinion, but no matter how much she tired to convince herself she could not, she was still rattled, but before she could change her mind Manav had come running, his friends were here, now was the time and suddenly everything felt too real for Raavi to comprehend, she wanted Shiva here, why she wanted him here she didn’t no, all she knew was she needed him here, shooting off a silent prayer to her Bholenath she walked timidly behind Manav as he grabbed her duffle bag and marched off in excitement.

Raavi’s fears were proven correct when she saw Rahul and Sudeesh in the car, her worries of something being off were now less than 6 feet away from her and she cursed herself for falling for Manav and doing such a stupid thing, she looked around to see if she could run to someone for help, but the entire premises was empty, no one was there for her rescue and she didn’t think she’d be able to outrun the hooligans she had gotten herself stuck with, she stood rooted to her spot, trying to see if she could get away from here, but by then Manav had figured out her expressions and began dragging her towards the car that was there.

Manav’s hands were rough and he gripped her around her hair carelessly, dragging her along with him, sharp pain shot up the back of her head and Raavi cursed herself once again, she wanted to cry, twisting away from his grip was not easy it was hurting her more and just as she tried to move away he held her tighter, fingers a bruising grip against the delicate skin of her wrist, he was about to shove her into the backseat of the car when he was pushed away from her body, and another set of hands grabbed her waist in a firm grip, she didn’t need to look up to see who grabbed her, it was Shiva. He was here, he always was.

Raavi wanted to hug him but could feel the anger coming off of him waves that for the first time threatened to overwhelm her and sweep her away in its wake deciding that it was better to steer clear, she disengaged herself from his grip and stood away, letting him deal with the miscreants, it took him barely a few punches and kicks for them to run away, the 3 of them barely match against Shiva and his friends, as Rahul and Sudeesh raced off in the car, Arjun and Vasu held Manav back, while Shiva stood there fuming in anger.

Shiva was still seething from anger, the cowards couldn’t handle a few punches and had run away but Shiva still wanted to beat someone up to pulp, Arjun and Vasu still hand Manav pinned to the ground but before that he had to deal with the Chipkali, was she even thinking? He turned to his right and saw her standing there, her fear long gone, as irritated as he was it still made him ecstatic to know that she wasn’t scared anymore, not with him there, but anger surged through him again when he thought about what a mess she could have gotten herself into.

“Aye gadhedi, kya karne chali thi thu, AKKAL NAAM KI CHEEZ HI NAHI HAI TERE MAIN, YEH GADHE NE BOL DIYA PYAAR HAI TOH BAS BHAAG KE JAA RAHI THI ISKE SAATH?”

“Shiva woh”

“CHUP BILKUL CHUP, MAIN KUCH NAHI SUNNE WAALA, GADHEDI, DOBI CHIPKALI KAHIKI, BAATH MAAT KAR TU MUJHSE”

“Sorry”

“NAHI CHAHIYE, RAKH TU APNE PAAS, ABHI CHALO”

Before Raavi could agree to him Shiva stormed off to collect her duffle bag back, she stood there squirming as he looked at the bag and then once again at her as if she had completely lost it, before she could ask him anything he put the bag down and opened it, pulling everything out one by one.

Shiva had gone to get her bags, but was shocked when he found just one bag, the Chipkali was planning to runway with just one bag? She couldn’t go for a 3 day trip without 2 suitcases and a carry on duffel and now she was planning on running away with one measly little duffle, he had to see what was inside that duffel, so he put the bag down and began to introspect.

First came a teddy bear, it was the same teddy that Raavi had gloated about when Manav had given it to her, he was so close to just butchering that thing, well he was sure no one would stop him so he chucked it away as far as he could, then came the Chipkali’s make up, she just couldn’t do without those could she? Between all her close a white A3 sized sheet fluttered about and he was intrigued, pulling it out and unfolding it he saw the words “I LOVE YOU RAAVI” written all bold and in a weird looking ink, and then it clicked. Raavi was always a film buff, he finally understood what happened, he couldn’t stop himself and he fell over laughing, she truly was a Dobi, ultra pro max at that.

Raavi was beyond confused as Shiva stood there laughing at the love letter, Manav had told her that he had written it with his blood, he had loved her that much, why was Shiva looking at it and laughing like a maniac? She pouted in confusion.

Shiva on the other hand knew he had gotten everyone confused, especially his Dobi but what could he even do, she was beyond crazy at this point.

“Aye gadhedi, ye dekh he flat hogayi tu? Sochi uska khoon hai?”

Raavi nodded confused, and Shiva laughed harder, his stomach was hurting beyond belief due to all the laughter, his anger long forgotten, he somehow managed to get himself to calm down and speak again.

“Abbey gadhi, murgi ka khoon hai ye”

He burst into laughter, while Raavi stood there confused and later anger took over, HOW DARE THAT MANAV FOOL HER she thought, looking around she grabbed a stick from the pile of sticks outside the dhaaba and ran towards him, he was still pinned onto the floor, she beat him recklessly while screaming at him.

“ABBEY ULLU KE PATTE, HOW DARE YOU, TERI HIMMAT KAISE HUI, TERI JAAN NA LE LOON MAIN, BEWAKOOF, NAALAYAK, SUAR KE AULAAD, CHAMGADAR KE BACCHE”

Shiva laughed away in glee, watching Raavi beat Manav up, while his friends stood there baffled and sort of scared at how she was beating Manav up, soon enough Shiva collected himself and signed at Arjun to take the stick away from her, and he did, although Raavi didn’t stop there, she marched over to Shiva, promptly stuck her hand into his back pocket and grabbed the little knife he always had with him, in the process her hand curved around his ass and Shiva jolted as if he was electrocuted.

Raavi had gotten what she wanted, the knife, she marched back to where Manav was lying on the floor and towered over him, threatening him.

“MERI ANGUTI WAAPIS DE, VARNA UNGLI KAAT DOONGI, SUAR KI AULAAD KAHIKE”

Terrified Manav gave her ring back and crawled back in fear, Raavi had gotten what she wanted and so she stomped off to the car, ready to go back.

Shiva meanwhile recovered from Raavi’s impromptu attack and walked towards where Manav was lying on the floor, he looked at him threateningly once again.

“Darr math, nahi maroonga, meri chipkali kafi hai uskeliye, dara na tu jag usne ungli kaat ne ki dhamki di? Tera toh ungli ya haath nahi, kuch aur hi katna chahiye, chal abhi chalta hoon”

Shiva walked off, ready to go home with the Chipkali, he settled into the back seat with her as Vasu drove his time around and Arjun rested, claiming that he needed to get paid do deal with all this nonsense, but that didn’t matter to Shiva as he started at the Chipkali who latched onto him and fell asleep on his shoulder, snoring away peacefully after wreaking his life, a wide smile on his face and a cute pout on hers as she slept unbothered, Shiva wasn’t going to let anyone bother her anyway.

A.N. Okay so sorry for the terrifying title, I hope y'all like it, for my Akka and Cupzcake! ALSO Saru bear
