This is soo beautifully written. I agree with you. I definitely started for ShiVi and would have never watched it had it not been for them. They've always been my main reason to watch. But I liked the family aspect - I loved Shiva and Dhara's bond soo much, Shiva and Krish were fab (they still could be if given the ss again), I was craving for Shiva and Rishita to have an amazing bond, was looking forward to Gautam and Raavi as well as Raavi and Krish (this is still there to be fair, but a little ruined by their characters), Suman was more likeable, mami was funny in her parts, was looking forward to Hardik and Anita happening, Dev was always the weak link for me but I still enjoyed his scenes with his brothers.Originally posted by: milkcakejamun
If I could write a letter to Shiny, and all others who actively contributed to the show transitioning into what it is right now, I would probably tell them that it wasn't Shiva and Raavi's story that made me stay, it was the interactions between all the house members that made me stay. Some of my favorite scenes (scenes that stood out for me) were scenes such as:
—Shiva, Dhara, Gaumbi discussing about what they should do with Janardhan after the first kidnapping event. I loved how they played on each other's strengths and personalities. I learned so much from each of them, and I understood right then and there why Shiva respected Dhara so much. She didn't say no or criticize him for wanting to get back at Janardhan... she understood him and helped him find a solution that worked for everyone... Gautam and Dhara reminded me of the many mentors I had in the past... the mature sensibility and the calmness they handled hot-headed Shiva... I wanted Raavi to be a part of this "it" group once she fell in love with Shiva... I wanted Gautam and Dhara to encourage and support Raavi in a same way, and I wanted Shiva to learn from them and support Raavi in his own way as well...
—Shiva and Krish during the cigarette scene. Loved how Shiva hid Krish's secret. Loved how Krish looked up to Shiva in a, "Protect me now!" type of way. Loved how Shiva beat Krish up and then apologized afterwards because "this" was the best way to solve the situation before Dhara became too upset. It reminded me so much of the equation I shared with my own sister. The way I protected her, the way I would betray her just to prevent the situation from worsening any further. I saw how Krish looked up to Shiva, and how Shiva was the protective older brother. It was such a sweet scene, and I wish they built on the brother's relationships even more.
—Raavi declaring herself as Shiva's proxy. This was not supposed to be a "romantic" scene; however, this scene established so much! I could get a sense of the amount of respect Raavi had for Shiva if she was willing to be his "proxy." Also, I love how the family did not object to this, showing me that Raavi was fully accepted by the family. She was a Pandya daughter despite not being married into the family, and that silent form of acceptance a lot more powerful than the scenes they have been showing today.
I never watched this show just for Shiva and Raavi in the beginning. Their relationship was a cherry on top, but it wasn't the sole reason. Now, however, I skip all the scenes with the other characters and only watch Shiva and Raavi. The CVs, Shiny, and everyone else who contributed to Bhabi-Ma worship only contributed to the downfall in story quality...
Now I look at all of them and I'm like I hate you, you're trash and you etc...it's never ending. I'd rather not talk about offscreen personalities or I'll be here forever. But there was a point where I stood up for them, now I cringe at that. Do you all remember a time when we said we're so lucky with this cast when 'another show' was having issues? I laugh at it now 😆. Somehow the acting has really gone down too. That danda beating kaand defo was a turning point for the characters and a decline in acting.
You know if they show these ridiculous things and not glorified them, I would have somehow been okay with it all. It's how they show it all to be right 😕. So for me it's pretty much Shiva-Raavi only with inputs from some.
