I feel like overall the performance of the cast has gone down in quality. I do believe in Shiny’s case, what you mentioned above is the issue. She’s capable of a much better performance. I really enjoyed Dhara before the leap and right after. Alice lost me once the haveli track started and has been on and off. Lately, I find her performance to be very repetitive and oddly distracted. She was great in KHKT. Even when the material was badly written.

Since most scenes are of these two, it’s hard to feel a connect. And KD, Simran, Kinshuk and Mohit aren’t given proper material to perform. They are capable of much more. The writing isn’t doing them justice.

Anyway, it was really nice to read some thoughtful and constructive criticism 🤗 it’s rare to come across that these days. I miss discussing specific nuances and what can be done better. Talking about how scenes can be performed/written in a better way and offering ideas to improve things. Looking at the overall picture and characters that make up this show... Khair, please do tag me if you make similar posts. I would love to read them ❤️

Sometimes, I wonder if the actors themselves can longer connect with the characters that were written out or if the director is clueless about what they want to show on screen. Kinshuk and Kanwar have the advantage of years of experience; but, I notice scenes where their acting is not highlighted by the camera or somewhat lacking. For example, in the cotton candy scene with Shiny, I felt as though Kinshuk's acting was not up to the mark. He seemed a little too chirpy... maybe even a little lost, and for the first time, I couldn't see Gautam Pandya on the screen.

Kanwar's acting is solid when looking at each scene individually; however, when putting all the scenes together, I can't seem to relate/connect to Shiva... it's mostly due to the poor writing quality, but sometimes I wonder if Kanwar practices a scene by itself or if he thinks about the relation of every scene together... Some of the micro expressions that I would've loved to see Kanwar doing is clench his fists when he looks 'longingly' at Raavi (and have the camera focus on his hands) or show a scene where Shiva raises his brow when Raavi holds onto his arm in the pooja, and when they lock gazes, have Shiva glare at Raavi taunting with a, "I thought you wanted nothing to do with me? What made you come back?" type of look.

From my understanding, Shiva is supposed to be deeply infatuated with Raavi (I would argue that he is not in love as there is much about Raavi he is left to discover). However, the fact that she would 'never' love him back, deeply angers him. I would've loved to see Kanwar balancing out 'longing' and 'hate' in every scene. Whenever he says something in anger, I want him to immediately follow up with a flinch of, "Why did I do that? I know I want to hurt her so she leaves me... but isn't this too much?" Whenever he stares at her longing, I want a balance of, "Why does it have to be like this?" and have him follow up with some type of sign of anger whether it is breathing in deeply, punching the air, conveying a message of, "Out of all the girls in Somnath... why did I have to fall in love with her... the one girl who would never love me?"

I love Shiva's character... especially pre-haveli. This is because Raavi caused his anger... and Raavi quenched his anger. She played a dual role in his life where he was able to emote every single feeling he had without thinking about the consequences... As of late, I only see Raavi causing his anger... but none of the Raavi quenching his anger, and this missing piece is really causing me to be unable to relate to Shiva... One day, when the MU ends, I hope this relationship comes back, even if they fall deeply in love... otherwise Shiva and Raavi will never be the same as before.

I know this is mostly providing constructive feedback for Kanwar, and perhaps I should make one with the other characters... but this is just a brief preview of my thoughts as of the current track
