Nope, this was ITV at it's finest. It was a Telugu show called Mounaragam about a girl who can't speak. The male lead falls in love with her from childhood on as she saves him but the FL's father hated the ML, so the FL does not want to start a relationship with the ML. Second ML enters about 150 episodes later and the father loves this man.

ML and Second ML are best friends growing up. Instead of having a messy bloodbath trying to figure out who was worth it for the female lead (in their competition, they totally forgot to ask the FL about her opinion of everything), they decide to have a "friendly" competition where they would determine who was the "better" of the two. Hence, they began trying to charm the FL in different ways, all without the FL having a clue with what was happening.

The show was very serious. It primarily focused on the FL trying to win acceptance from her father as her father was not interested in raising a girl child, and especially not a child who was disabled. The love story between the FL and ML was a secondary story, and only after like 500 episodes do they actually get married (the FL is very steadfast in her decision of only marrying the ML as long as the father accepted their relationship). But the ML and Second ML track was a refreshing comedy track that was uplifting in the midst of more serious drama.

Yep! It's on Hotstar, though I think some episodes are missing. The show is more on a serious note though.

However, I think the actors for that show are dating or planning on getting married. They started a YouTube channel and already call each other "My Pari forever" and "My Shiv forever" 😆 If ShiVi AU ever progresses to that level on Instagram, I think I'll start to become suspicious of KD and Alice to, but as of now, I'll believe they are good friends

This is remade into Malayalam...also into tamil I think...nowadays malayalam tv has no original shows except for Ammayariyathe, which BTW i heard is good and different

Thank you all for enjoying When Masalas Meet Flowers. I enjoyed writing that story, but my all-time favorite fanfiction that I have ever written in my life is a Train Station AU fanfic where the couple lives in Boston and they have only 37 seconds to communicate with each other (as they are on opposite, moving trains). Maybe I should re-write that story in the ShiVi universe since that story is a true gem (I lived in Boston for 4 years, so that story was a culmination of my feelings and emotions).

It'll definitely be OTT, but I think it's possible to re-write with ShiVi 😆

At this point, there's so many remakes 😆 Every time I see a new show promo, I immediately check to see if it's a remake so I can figure out if I can become invested or not. That's how I ended up here. I watched Pandian Stores and was like, "Yes! I can invest my time!" But this forum took up more time than I intended 🤣
