Dhara was wondering if there was anything she could do for Raavi, but Gaumbi said she just had to sleep it off. Only Raavi didn’t want to go to sleep. And Dhara didn’t feel like forcing her. Raavi was laughing all along, and it made Dhara very happy to see her happy, even if it was because of bhaang.
Yeh kaisi baat hui?” Rishita finally spoke out. “Shiva Raavi sabke saamne romance kar sakte hai, par main aur Dev kuch nahi kar sakte?”
“Rishita, Raavi ki haalat dekh.” Gaumbi tried to explain. “Usse thik se baitha nahi jaa raha.”
Rishita wasn’t satisfied with the answer. She knew everyone would have a problem if she sat so close to Dev in front of them. So why were the rules different for Raavi-Shiva? Rishita had been told strictly not to say anything in front of Suman so she decided to let the matter go.
“Mujhe na bohot tez bhook lag rahi hai.” Raavi spoke up. “Bohot bohot tez.”
“Haa yeh achha hai.” Suman said. “Khana khake so jayegi. Ae bhagori ki beti, khana laga de sabka. Aur tu, Rishita, jaake iski madad kar. Chalo sab khane ke table mein.”
Rishita made a face, but she had no choice. She got up reluctantly and went to the kitchen with Dhara. Everyone else got up and moved to the dining room. Shiva supported Raavi the entire way. He moved his seat close to Raavi’s so she could lean on him. They waited for their food.
“Kitne pyaare lag rahe ho aap dono. Nazar hi nahi hat rahi aap dono se.” Krish said, and Shiva gave him a murderous glance.
“Main toh Somnath ki sabse pyaari ladki hu. Yeh bhootnath toh mere saath rehke pyaara bana hai.” Raavi laughed.
“Ae chipkali, zyada battisi na phar.”
“Tu na chup kar. Meri smile bohot pyaari hai. Main Somnath ki sabse khubsurat aur pyaari ladki hu. Sabse best.”
“Chipkali hai tu.”
Raavi pouted. “Tu hai ek number ka chipkala.”
“Bas karo tum dono.” Anita said. “Kya bachho ki tarah jhagadte rehte ho.”
“Anita di, main aapko bohot miss kar rahi thi. Aur aapko bhi maasi.” Raavi said.
“Main bhi bohot miss kar rahi thi Raavi. Isliye toh main yaha aayi tujhse milne. Aur tujhe iss raakshash se bachane.” Prafulla said. “Tu mere paas aake baith na. Main tujhe khila deti hu.”
“Nahi maasi. Main gir jaungi. Shiva mujhe khila dega.”
“Do saal ki bachhi hai tu ki tujhe khilana parega?” Shiva asked.
“Tune nahi khilaya toh main aur mera khana dono gir jayenge.”
“Khila de Shiva.” Dev said.
“Haa bhai. Dev ki baat mano. Woh dusro khilane mein expert hai.” Krish said.
Dhara and Rishita came out of the kitchen and served everyone. Then they sat down with the rest of the family to have their lunch. Shiva had no choice but to feed his wife who was staring at the food greedily. It was as if she was planning to eat everything. He started feeding Raavi. Suddenly there was a snap. He looked up to see Krish clicking photos of them.
“Tu kya kar raha hai?”
“Bhabi jab hosh mein aayegi toh unhe yeh dikhana parega na.” Krish laughed.
“Main hosh mein hi hu!” Raavi said. “Aur tu, mujhe khilane par focus kar. Bhabhi kuch meetha bhi khaane ka mann kar raha hai!”
“Halwa banaya hai maine.” Dhara smiled.
“Kitna thoosegi? Chudail kahi ki!”
Suddenly the lights went out. There was still daylight outside, but since no outside light came to the dining room, they would switch on the lights. Rishita shrieked loudly. She got up from her chair and went and hugged Dev.
“Kyu chilla rahi hai tu?” Suman asked.
“Woh saaya... Kesar. Dev maine kaha tha na chalte hai. Woh chudail isi haveli mein bhatak rahi hai.”
Raavi started laughing loudly. “Iss haveli ki iklauti bhootni toh tum ho, aur tumhei darr rag raha hai?”
Shiva was pleasantly surprised. He joined in with her, and started laughing. Dhara didn’t want to laugh out loud, but she couldn’t control her laughter. It was her favourite sight to watch Raavi and Shiva laughing together. She prayed to God they would always keep laughing like this. Rishita was annoyed, but her fear disappeared. So she went back and sat on her own chair.
Shiva continued to feed Raavi the halwa. As soon as he was done, he wanted to take Raavi and put her to sleep but as he tried dragging her away, Raavi stopped.
“Ruk. Mujhe pehle kuch bolna hai.” Raavi said.
“Kal bolna. Abhi chal so jaa.”
“Nahiiiii, Abhi bolna hai!! Bohot zaroori hai.” Raavi said.
“Bolne de na Shiva.” Gaumbi said. “Tu bol Raavi.”
Raavi stood up but then again sat down, hugging Shiva tight. “Tu chor mat mujhe. Main gir jaungi. Aur phir mai uth nahi paungi.”
Shiva put his arms around her again.
“Main yahi bolna chahti hu ki main aap sab logo se bohot bohot pyaar karti hu. I love you all so much!” Raavi said. “Dhara bhabhi, main aapse bohot naraz thi. Bohot zyada. Par phir Shiva ne mujhe yaad dilaya ki aap meri inspiration ho, meri favourite insaan ho. Toh jaane anjaane mein maine aapko hurt kiya ho toh I’m sorry. Main aapse sabse zyada pyaar karti hu.” Inspite of Raavi’s talk about falling down, she got up and hugged Dhara di.
“Raavi, tu meri bachhi hai. Teri koi galti nahi hai, teri narazgi jayas hai. Main bhi tujhse bohot zyada pyaar karti hu. Tu bas khush reh.”
Raavi moved on to Suman and hugged her. “Aap bhi achhi ho bohot. Main aapki bohot respect karti hu aur aapse bohot pyaar bhi karti hu maa. Uss din ke liye sorry. Maine aapko hurt kiya. Main toh Shiva pe naraz thi par maine sab ko hurt kiya. But next time se aisa nahi hoga.”
“Haa haa thik hai. Waise, tu bhi iss Dhara se kuch kam nahi hai.” Suman said.
Raavi laughed and moved on to Gaumbi. She gave him a big hug. “Gaumbi, aap humesha se mere bade bhai jaise ho. Aur aapka aur Dhara di ka mere zindagi mein sabse uncha darja hai. Aapne mujhe bachpan se iss parivaar ka hissa mana hai. Par aapse ek request hai.”
“Kya request?”
“Waise toh main aapke bhai ki biwi hu, par main chahti hu ki aap humesha mujhe apni choti behen ke nazar se dekhe. Agar mujhse kabhi koi galti hui toh mere kaan pakadke mujhe saza dijiyega.”
Gaumbi kissed Raavi’s forehead. “Thik hai! Aaj se tu meri behen.”
Raavi moved on to Krish and hugged him. “Tu mera sabse favourite devar hai. Main na tujhe bohot bigaarne wali hu. Tujhe kuch bhi chahiye ho toh tu mujhe aakar kehna. Okay?”
“Shiva ke maar se bachaogi?” Krish asked.
“Iski itni himmat ki yeh mere favourite devar ko maare! Tu mere paas aana, main iss Shiva ko dekh lungi.”
“Ae maami ki behen ki beti!” Shiva warned.
“Chup. Mera abhi khatam nahi hua.” Raavi went and hugged Rishita. “Tumse kya kehna? Tum mujhe kuch khaas pasand nahi aur aaj jo hua uske baad toh bilkul bhi nahi. Bas ek baat main tumse kehna chahungi. Mujhe tumhare Dev mein koi interest nahi hai. Nahi, mujhe tum dono ke beech koi problem create karna hai. Tum apni shaadi shuda life mein khush raho. Aur tum jis din meri respect karna sikhogi, usi din main tumhari respect karungi. Aur ek free ki advice bhi deti hu. Dev ke liye uski bhabi sabse important hai, tumse bhi bohot zyada important. Toh Dev chahiye toh uski family ko bhi apnana parega.”
“Dev, tumne toh humare bachpan ki dosti tak ka bhi lihaz nahi rakha. Tum chahte toh mujhse Rishita ke baare mein keh sakte the. Main chup chap piche hat jaati. Par choro, koi shikayat nahi hai tumse. Nahi kuch aur kehna hai. Tum mere jeth ho, aur bas. Ab dosti ka bhi nata toot gaya.”
Dev looked down in shame.
Raavi took a minute then went back to her cheery self. “Shivaaaa, main gir rahi hu!!!” She closed her eyes in fear. Shiva rolled his eyes and held her. “Kaha tha na chorna mat. Ab mera ho gaya. Mujhe room mein leke chal.”
“Nahi.” Krish suddenly shouted. “Abhi toh Shiva ka turn baaki hai. Aaj toh koi filter nahi hai, toh Shiva ko bhi bol do apne dil ki baat.”
