So, I am finally back after watching the episode. I have a lot to say with the problematic Pandya family. Yes, they are a problematic lot because each individual has some intense problems that needs to be addressed instead of giving this Hum Saath Saath hai in freaking 2021!

Since its an iTv drama, I could spare them here but yes in real life this miscommunication could be dangerous😵

Problematic Dhara:

She is kind hearted, extremely sacrificial and has done a lot for the family. Agreed. Respected. Her sad expression at even the tiniest side tracking from her home cooked food is problematic. Dhara baby, every individual is different. A family unit need not love everything YOU think is appropriate. Kids love to eat outside on a trip. If she is craving restaurant food, BIG DEAL! Chill.

Honestly speaking, in India there are families or people who behave like that. My mom doesn't like restaurant food, and so we rarely eat out, not even on trips. Whatever you want you'll make at home. Dhara sometimes is too weird. Chhoti chhoti baato me itna reaction😳

Dharam Sankat:

Putting bhabhi’s home cooked food and Rishita’s food side by side and representing competition. Reiterating female patriarch system in households where the head female of the family needs to be treated like God. It’s simplistic. Feelings aren’t associated with food. We are still stuck with stereotypes and it’s funny how Rishita being this nagging wife is viewed from the lens of a crime. Agreed, Rishita is selfish but she isn’t an outsider who needs to worship your Dhara Bhabhi. Love grows! Slowly and steadily. Dhara stepped into her motherly mode which is great but give others a chance to know her as well. Let’s sing Kumbaya may not work each time. These are real people.


Raavi Made to feel Guilty and family dynamics being explored instead to grief counselling for a suicidal person:

Wrong questions asked to her: Tu toh Somnath ki achi ladki thi, Dhara Bhabhi jaisa bana whatever.... Misplaced anger. Making her realise her mistake.

I saw that scene in a different way. Raavi has been with them since childhood. She actually respects and love dhara just like Shiva. Agreed many things changed with Raavi and that should have been handled differently. In fact its weird that Raavi doesn't even care about the person whom she loved so much.

Well let's see aage kya dikhate h, may be they actually venture into all these things or may be they won't since its just a drama🤷

Dhara’s counselling: Sab theek ho jayega.

Dude, mental health issues are REAL! Suicidal tendencies need to be addressed. Her state of mind needs to be explored instead of gaslighting. My biggest pet peeve is the trivialisation of mental health issues. Did anyone ask her the right questions.

Raavi, how do you feel about all this?
Raavi, is it making you uncomfortable?
Raavi, do you need a break from all this?
Raavi, I know Shiva isn’t your soulmate. Why don’t you talk to him. Or do you want to maintain a distance so that you feel better.

Raavi, do you want to seek professional help.

I don't even think they're going to venture into that🤪

We are in 2021 for God’s sake and I wish a show had to guts to normalise mental health.

That would have been a real caring family to me instead of leaving her with manhandling Shiva.

Shiva-Raavi

These two are exactly stuck where they were, they have unresolved childhood issues and both know each other too well. Shiva knew what to do with her when she broke into hiccups. But, hello, stop making everything about an insult to Dhara Bhabhi. There are other individuals in the house and why should she become like Dhara Bhabhi. It’s problematic. His thinking and simultaneously Raavi who isn’t in the right frame of mind to understand anything.

In short, despite the familial love they all harp about, it’s a deeply problematic family.

Love can heal wounds but sometimes, you need to rip the band aid off, change it, let it bleed and get proper air.

Else, you’d be left with fulminating misery and putrid emotions.


It’s highly problematic that the family wants Dhara to decide everything for them. It’s deeply unsettling.

They're not out of the phase where dhara had always took important decisions for them. And they don't even want to come out of it🤷🤦

But u can’t stop wondering what the bare body scene will be. Doesn’t really seem like he’s out of a bath. It’s either sweat or he’s hurt so she has to bandage him 😂
