My review.

Ohhh. Where to start? What a wonderful drama. So far. And the script is king and will always be followed by good direction and a strong cast. The strong cast makes me invested in the non-lead scenes. I actually feel that there are no leads or sides and every character has an impact. This is something Geo and Ary need to pick up on and Hum as well. The Nashwa-Bisma bond and chemistry is love. Whether it is the moment where they realize how hard it is without a dad or not being financially independent or where Nashwa crasses her mom's hand in pain because of the cruel situation she has to face from her Taya. The eyes say it all and that is the power of acting. I have seen Sania Saeed, Noman Ejaj, Faisal Qurishi Yumna and Bilal and a few more in poor scripts and ridiculous directions or stuff from the 90s or 2000s on YT with like a few hundred views (noman, Faisal Sania) and the script may have failed them but not their skills! And that is the difference. Enough said.

I'm not a crazy fan of anyone. I just enjoy art. I know some get very upset, but I do criticize when, for instance, GM SMD ZPKB or anything related to acting or directional skills comes up.

Getting back to QeJ, I'm enjoying them showing people's faces and hypocrisy without using words. The dadi preaching while enabling things in her own house.

This drama shows how there are always more enablers than actual perpetrators and how enablers are even worse than the monsters who do crimes. Enablers make the crime happen by taking the victim somewhere (Ammar), not reporting, not helping or even hiding it or committing, ignoring or pretending not to understand (Ammar's mom has a feeling about her husband's behavior).

QeJ shows all levels of crimes against females. Whether it is the words of the older lawyer who sat with Burhan making comments on women or Nashaw's nice male colleague's "harmless" view on the zimadari of a woman when it comes to a work-life balance. Then we see the emotional torture and harassment from bare abba to the worst crime in the universe committed against Mahi.

For me, in this time and age of fast-paced, double-episode dramas, I find the once a week QeJ very refreshing. I don't skip or forward. I take it all in. I don't have to force myself. The drama reminds me of the early 2010s or even the older ones. That thehrao, that dhima sa lehja... I like it. There's no rush, or it's not a flashback filled with a 0.25x speed dragging fest.

The drama so far has not been preachy. Nashwa not replying to the older lawyer or her bare Abbu right away shows the reality that we can't always do tit for tat right away. Situations and dynamics prevent us sometimes.

I know that we're sad to see Bisma slap Nashwa. But as I grow older, I start to understand Bisma a little bit more. Not justifying it, but just seeing her from a human and a female point of view. She has been suppressed for so long. Her own developmental years were destroyed and her nervous system. She doesn't know how to fight or what to do. I show her grace. The teen me would have been furious and been like Nashwa, girl, let's go slap Taya for raising a bad son and being a harasser. But now I know the nuances of life. I don't agree with Bisma, but I see where she comes from. On the other hand, Mahi, who comes from a village background, chooses to fight. Now that's a choice. Kudos. Bisma also realizes that they'd be homeless in case of fighting back and that's a nightmare. I guess Nashwa is of the mindset that we live today and fight tomorrow? She needs to get a good position and then move out? That's her plan.

I read some of your funny takes on Ammar Nashwa 😂 they had me at epi one eye-lock. I'm more interested in their dynamic than in any romantic angles! It may be like Saba and Bilal from Cheek. I must say this, and I apologize if it offends anyone. Usama is still the weakest link. He is more into his character now, starting episode 5, but he has a long way to go. I would have loved Sherry or Bilal in Burhan's role.

This was surprising for me too. Burhan upped his game for that episode or maybe Yumna Aur Saqib inspired Usama to do his job
