And yet she has no control over him, thanks to all the pampering he receives from Shahida. Honestly she should have just slapped him back. Unfortunately, at this point, he really needs a thrashing preferably by Salar because as I said, he will be merciless. If he does not get it now and soon, he is on the speeding lane on the highway to becoming a gambler, a thief (these two he already is) and a wife beater (morning shows the day). Don't apologise for condoning violence for characters who actually deserve it.

I remember you mentioning about being new to Pakistani dramas. Let me tell you few of my observations:

- Some of the males are strict towards their sisters. If you have seen Fitoor you will get to see another brother who is elder one behaving similar to that of Zohaib.

- Guys claiming to love the girl but get married to another girl unwantedly but have child with her.

Was just thinking about whether Salar truly has realised that he is in love or not and made me think of how love is an emotion where people surrender to that feeling. In the promo, when Sitara tells him that she wants to test his love, he is confused for a moment because he says "meri mohabbat?" Sitara has to prompt him back "karte ho na?" and he gives a slightly inconfident reply before recollecting his confidence. My theory is that Sitara can sense this hesitance. I don't think that she is completely wrong when she says that he is not in love with her. Even I get the feeling that Salar is labelling what he is feeling as love only because a number of people around him are labelling it as love. Don't get me wrong. Salar IS definitely falling in love but he has not reached that ultimate stage yet while others around him can see that he already speeding down the hill called love. He is obsessed with Sitara. He wants his happy companion from Hyderabad back. He absolutely hates it when some other male interacts with her in a romantic context and despises it when Sitara shows any kind of bias or affection to another male. Faced with the prospect of losing her to marriage, he is offering himself in marriage. In his mind, as long as he can keep her safe and happy by his side and the only man she cares about or is able to associate with is him, he and she will be perfectly fine.

We can see that hesitance in his confessions as well. One is a sad text. The other a semi-arrogant demand. Also, while he was talking to Sitara at the beach, one thing to notice is that he was wearing glasses. Sitara cannot see his eyes and his body language is arrogant and demanding. On Sitara's challenge, Salar is doing everything he can to chase off Salman AND keep Qasim out at the same time. But has he truly surrendered to what he is feeling? I think not and Sitara's restaurant rejection will be what breaks that last wall that keeps him from surrendering to love. In the promo launch, you can see Salar's eyes as Sitara tells him that she can never love him. It is as though he is in disbelief at what he is hearing, his heart can be seen breaking in his eyes, his head just shaking slightly. Ali is a fantastic actor and he emotes so well especially with his eyes and praises are his birthright for this show. Honestly, that should be where Salar's last barrier to truly embrace his love breaking should happen. He will probably want to flee and hide himself in his hurt, not anger and wounded pride, just plain heartbreak, but I think by then his family will come through as his support system and this time he will go back to fight for his love because even though she might not love him back, he will not abandon her to destruction.

Salar's current feelings, his obsession, his care, his protectiveness, his possessiveness, are like the first rays of the sun before it rises. Like Junaid said, before the sun rises, it makes sure to show its colours through dawn. That is exactly what is happening now. And once Salar is truly in love and truly embraced his feelings, Sitara will be able to feel his love, the full warmth of it, even without him saying a word and she will be able to trust him and will possibly finally choose him over that wretched family of hers. I hope this is how things go. Otherwise, there should not be any reason why Salar looked confused or hesitated for a bit considering all the actions he is doing belongs to that of a majnu.

Loved reading this

I didn’t like it when Salar referred to Sitara as “meri cheez”

In practice he doesn’t actually behave like that and really cares for her. But this line did make me pause and wonder

he is worried for her but he is also acting out of arrogance and possessiveness

Im on team isko tadpao Sitara

He needs to do Kaffara for how he insulted and ruined her at the wedding. That was no small insult

Also Tahir is a scary father. Do anything and I’ll back you.

thankfully Salar is just a bit arrogant and mischievous. Not criminal minded or characterless. We definitely have wealthy fathers like this is India/Pakistani who enable their sons misdeeds. Yuck

Honestly, the second one is a trope that is there in ITV too. What's up with ITV these days with bigamy bullshit and stuff? The FLs in these case should just take an auto to the nearest police station and file an FIR for bigamy. It would automatically put the ML in jail while the FL files for a divorce and also void the the second marriage leaving the vamp with no rights to any property, money or any such bullshit, the latter would just be a squatter on her legal property then that can be easily thrown out by the police themselves. And sometimes just to make sure to raise the stakes, they just write the characters as Muslim because they can have four wives legally in India. I have so many Muslim friends and I swear to God I haven't seen a single family which have two wives (to my knowledge that is). In fact, the bigger headache my Muslim female friends have is that their male relatives will challenge their right to property despite their dad's will and everything or their relatives keep sending them rishtas of some cousin, something that usually creeps both the parties out. Honestly, whenever I see an ITV serial with Muslim characters, there is definitely one dude with two wives or some ultraconservative dude who keeps taking Allah's name all the time. So annoying.

The first trope, that used to be quite common in ITV too, but kind of started breaking down in the last decade. Honestly, Zohaib is a younger brother. That is what strikes me as complete dissonant as the amount of control he exerts over Sitara is undue of his position as the younger sibling.

I didn't like it either but I suppose we have to give him a pass because he is being an arrogant obsessive possessive ML right now. The way he reacted to Qasim and Sitara's engagement back then should have been proof enough for us this guy was going to go down this lane.

Definitely on Team Isko Tadpao Sitara as well. I am not on most of SM's side. A few heart eyes and then tears does not erase what he did to her. It was as though he did, there is a Hindi muhavra for it, khule bazaar mein nanga kar dena, to her. Not only did he refuse to support her when she actually needed it the most but he actually came back to trample on her remaining dignity in a very public manner. Sitara's life was not the best pre-Salar anyway, but post-him, it has become a living hell and the more time goes the more abusive her family becomes towards her. Many people on SM are being why is she being dumb? I am like "because he legit ruined her life and has been behaving like a obsessed stalker". The poor girl legit has no context to his actions unlike us and so expecting her to be polite to him, let alone fall in love with him, while he is jumping into her affairs without even consulting her (granted she is not picking up his calls but he is also not particularly communicating with her properly either) is a far fetched demand. What Sitara needs right now is incredible amounts of time, space and most importantly peace before she is even capable of considering Salar in any manner.

Tahir is definitely an enabler dad and probably Salar himself would be the same if not even more. Just imagine if he had a son like himself, he would definitely be the enabler dad but if he has a daughter like Sitara, chirpy bubbly little chatterbox of a sweetheart, my God, boys should watch out because he is going to bulldoze those boys alive for even looking at his little princess.

All though, you are right. He is not an aiyash or criminal minded. He is not there drinking, doing drugs or being promiscuous. He is just annoyed at his family and wants to be away from them. He has a goal and everything and once he sets his mind to it, he is willing to burn through it. Even the party episodes gave me the impression that he attends them just because that is the expected entertainment of his own social class, not because he particularly enjoys them.

In fitoor the brother was elder. Not supporting violence there too but its more disturbing to see younger brother slapping old sis. Also there the old brother was send to jail thanks to dilnasheen bf family so it atleast made little sense. Here her usueless brother having so much freedom doesn't make sense and is making me angry.

100%. Sitara is absolutely right in Not taking his help. This stand that she takes for herself makes herself a favorite character for me. The fact that she is ready to trade her life by getting married to any guy his taya choses is because of her love towards her taya and her brother, and not out of self pity. She is ready to sacrifice herself for the sake of her loved ones shema out from the fact that she doesn't want to lose people who she is related by blood, because that's how she is raised. While salar has a individualistic attitude towards life, not caring about anyone's opinion. There is this persistent clash between their way of life and i thnnk both of them can balance eavh other. Sitara can help salar become closer to her family, and salar can help sitara become a little individualistic, help her take a stand in front of her family.
