She stayed there because as she herself said she had no where to go. She chose to give in and marry because of this, but this doesn’t mean she didn’t want the marriage to work out. This was a wise decision IMO.
She never was interested in the marriage working out or not untill she had an infatuation for murtasim. She was not interested, yes. But she was not waiting to leave the marriage. She was going with the flow, in a daze, until she came to accept it. She never backed out even though she had reasons to.
As it's is said, with every right comes a duty and the 'duty' one has in a relationship is to put some efforts, and acknowledge the other person's efforts too, but Nope, all we got were some non sensical, discontinuous romantic scenes in tits and bits, which look good but when put together make no sense. I am not saying that she had to carry the whole weight of the relationship on her shoulders only, but atleast she could have thought of murtasim as a team mate, who too was forced into this marriage.
She was doing all her duties as the bahu. It was the wife’s role she didn’t take up. This was the character’s arc— until she was ready, it was too late in Maryam’s track.
and here we land up with the most selfish side of MEERAB none of us never imagined. Questioning the people who are taking care of you without asking for anything in exchange, and concealing the pregnancy news from the father of her child, so not done!
This has always been Meerab’s defence mechanism. She questions everyone about their haq on her ever since her identity crisis emerged. And this coupled with her impulsive nature made her give such a harsh reaction to Farrukh and the duo.
Identity crisis is real and traumatic. But its execution in this show is the worst. They have made Meerub look selfish. Everyone will find her selfish, rightfully so. What the makers should have done is AT LEAST given her a few monologues wondering about the effects of her decisions on her family.
Why isn’t Meerab thinking about..
1. MK: She thinks he has given up on their relationship after her Maryam track betrayal, so he must not be affected.
2. Waqas-Anila: I don’t know why after they did reconcile during Maryam’s track.
3. MB and Anwar: They were never loyal to her.
And all this has not been executed properly for a love story. Love stories require a certain balance between the affections of both the leads. I hope the balance is restored in the remaining episodes, although it seems impossible at this point.
About the baby—Right now, she hasn’t acknowledged her pregnancy. I hope she does come into her senses in a few weeks and acknowledges and accepts her pregnancy and her love for MK and decides to return, and then the circumstances/universe don’t give her the chance at a reunion when she wishes to return. This will be her real lesson and punishment, and then the main leap and reunion.
