To be honest, the more I hear about what she actually wrote and how many changes they made, kind of tells me how bad the story actually was. I mean there where several scenes where Murtasim slaps Meerub. And that's ok for NM. She thought that people would like that? Meeraub slapping Murtasim. Is that ok? Is that the equality people want? If husband can do it so can the wife?
One of the Pakistani dramas that I really liked was named Kankar. It was about husband slapping his wife and her taking a stand against it by leaving him. I still remember her saying, if he can do it once, he will do it again. And I remember people loving that series and it caused people to debate about slapping and physical abuse in marriages in real life and in the drama. That drama was made in 2013. But now in 2023 we are supped to be ok with slapping? Why are we going backwards?
I not saying that every drama need to have social message, but they need to think about what they show on the tv. Problematic things can't be normalized like this.
