“Kaam ho Gaya?”, [Is your work done] Waqas asked when he saw Meerub coming.
“Jee Baba”, [Yes Dad] She answered with a tired smile. All the process of shifting college during the last semester is taking a toll on her mind.
“But exams yahin aakar dene honge”, [But have to give exams here only] She explained and waqas nodded. Her mother brought water for her which she took and thanks her who smiled at her.
“Toh Hume kal hi nikalna hoga fir”, [so we need to leave tomorrow] Anila said and waqas went to out to make arrangements for their trip, while Meerub sighed at this and went to her room to pack her bags.
She is really nervous about this trip to Hyderabad as she is getting married with Murtasim, her fiancé of 4 years, Shahnawaz khan announced their marriage four years ago on her birthday but at that time she wanted to study law so she told this to Murtasim who announced that they will get married after she completes her study but due to Shahnawaz khan’s ill health there is a sudden change in their wedding plans and hence she had to shift college.
She was in the middle of packing when her phone ranged, and a smile came over her face after reading Murtasim’s name on the screen.
“Ji kahiye, aaj hume kaise yaad kiya”, [ Hello, How did you got reminded of me today] She taunts after picking up the call as it’s been almost a month since he called or picked her call.
“Kab hum aapko yaad nahi karte yeh kahe”, [When do I not remember you?] Murtasim replies back, he was busy in fact very busy last month so he could not talked to her but he always makes sure to sent a good morning and night message to her.
“Oh really”, Meerub questioned in her famous sarcastic tone.
“Hmm”, Murtasim hummed at her and she rolled her eyes.
“Acha suno”, [okay listen] Murtasim spoke as he knew his would be wife is about to cut his call. “I love you”, He said and it was her turn to give a hmmm as reply and then he heard the call dropping sound and sighed at his fiancée who never trusts him when he expressed his love to her.
Meanwhile Meerub was a blushing mess, it always happens to her whenever he expresses his love, why he had to be so expressive, Is there a need to make her heart flutter every time he talks. She knew he would be disappointed at the way she cut his call but she can’t be shameless like him and expressed her love before marriage.
“I am waiting for you”, She reads the message he has sent and went back to her packing.
“Intezar ab pura hone ko hi hai”, [wait will be over soon] Murtasim smiled at the message, all his disappointment fled away in a second, this is the power she holds over him. He can’t wait for the day when she will become his wife. He has always loved her and when his father announced their marriage, he literally danced with happiness. But when she told him about her dreams, he took the decision to delay this marriage cause she matters the most to him. He can do anything for her happiness so he took the decision of staying away from her for few years and fought with everyone so she can fulfil her dreams.
But now his wait is going to be over, she is coming back and this time he won’t let her go, with this he went back to his work. He is trying to complete all his work before marriage so he can take leave for atleast two months to spend time with his wife and that’s why he was so busy that he could not call her and that made her angry but he knew how to calm her.
“Kya yeh sahi hai Nawaz?”, [Is this right, Nawaz] Salma Begum asked her husband who faked his illness so that they can prepone the wedding.
“Haan Salma, yakeen rakho mujh par”, [Yes Salma, Trust me] Shahnawaz tries to persuade his wife who is still not convinced with her husband’s reasoning that He is doing this because Murtasim is missing Meerub. Only 4 months were left in their marriage so Shahnawaz this decision is out of her understanding but she nods and left to check on the preparation of their arrival.
“Haan woh kal pohonch rahi hai”, [yes, she is reaching tomorrow] Shahnawaz informed the person on the other side and cut the call without talking further.
“Tum sach keh rahi ho”, [You are saying the truth?] Anwar again asked this to be sure that his daughter is coming back. Only he and his god knows how much he regrets his decision of giving Meerub to waqas and Anila when she was born but he could not bear the pain that time so he took the easy way out.
“Jee Anwar chacha”, [yes uncle] Haya assured her uncle and comes out of his room to find Mariam as they need to buy some stuff for the wedding, They both are happy as their brother is getting married.
“Hello? Are you sure”, A person asked on the phone.
“Yes, and you need to find the truth, so that we can prove this”, Person on the other side of Call replied.
“Okay, I will keep informing you”, With this both of them cut the call and went away from their respective places.
“Progress kya hai?”, [what’s the progress?] Shahnawaz khan asked his son who came there to check upon him.
“Woh project hamara hi samjhe, Baba”, Murtasim replied with a sinister smile on his face and Shahnawaz smirked.
“Mujhe yakeen tha ki tumhare siwa yeh koi nahi kar sakta”, [I knew it, no one could have done this except you] Shahnawaz khan replied with a proud smile.
“Chaal kisi ki bhi ho, jeet sirf Murtasim Khan ki hogi”, Murtasim said and went away from there while Shahnawaz khan smiled at this, thinking about the future.
