Thoughts on Pakistan's film industry?

I know this forum is really for Pakistani dramas but since there's recently been an overlap between the actors you'd find in drama and films, I thought that this would be an interesting topic to discuss. It's a small industry but we're making some progress, I suppose.
Have you guys watched any movies that have come out recently in the past five years or so? If so, what did you watch and what did you think of them? Would you rather see the actors who have seemed to move onto film to come back to dramas or are they more suited to the silver screen?

By the way, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAZ1yCpDGf8bbSjNURXQH1NW65ZH7FUj6 (if this doesn't show up, search ARYMiP on YT) has a bunch of the more popular films that were released recently. You can find some other films too by searching their names as well but these are the best prints.

Nice thread.
I didn't complete any Pakistani movie , I start watching but loose interest. But I do like those movie's songs. I don't miss any of the actors who shifted to movies , coz I started watching Pakistani serials after they left , and there are lots of Pakistani talents on tv .
I just hope they don't make more mindless movies, or long ones. 2 hrs is fine. that's why I couldn't complete PNJ, Mahi Meer and HMJ .

Have you watched Actor in Law? It's a good film but the leads have meh chemistry and the ending is a bit weak for some.

Oh yes, they're very long movies and some are better off as dramas. I've never finished HMJ. They should have kept PNJ a drama because the story felt so rushed at the end and not enough scenes of the lead pair together (which was the only reason I watched it). Then again if it was a drama, I wonder if we would have had the same leads 😆. It still would have been popular for the production house and the channel if it was a drama though :/ .

I do think they have some nice songs like Tere Naal, Raunaq E Aashique and pretty much all of Bin Roye's OST but they tend to put some filler songs in their movies which just drags it out more.

As for the actors that left, I didn't care about some of them until I started watching their serials and I ended up liking them more than the ones today 😭. Though I've noticed that almost all of the actors do come back and do a drama every few years or so. Except for Fahad Mustafa but I don't care about him 😆.

I started it , FM was amazing in it. but I don't like Mehwish . I find her big. Loved her only as Anmol. 😳

I just watched the ending. but it wasn't that gr8. Tried to watch from the beginning, but too many supprting cast and no much of leads togather as you said. so I stopped.

As for Fahad Mustafa he is a movie star . he is versatile, and he proved himself as a performer, he dances like a dream. loved Aaya Laariye only because of his dance. 😃

The issue with the Pakistani movies is they seem to have made Bollywood as their standard and are trying hard to reach it...But why would people want to watch a mediocre version of something that is already there?I wish they carve their own niche just like the Pak dramas have...
I personally have tried a couple of them (including Bin Roye) and couldn't even finish them at one go!

I watched Parwaz Hai Junoon recently . Beautiful movie , lovely music and the scenic beauty of Pakistan was shown so well.
Acting wise , everyone did well but the film's best character was Hamza ( for me ) .
I will recommend this film specially to those. who live outside Pakistan and have not seen the northern side of the country .

Teefa in Trouble is the only movie that actually look like a movie and not a drama. Story as predictable but cinematography, direction and acting was superb.
