Ami, couldn't they have shown a progressive ending? Wasn't the whole point of the show to break social taboos by educating the audience in the right manner? Granted cyber cases of such nature may be on the rise there, but wouldn't a positive outcome have yielded better results for society as a whole? I'm not understanding such an illogical end. If you think about it, we could've guessed the final conclusion from the theme song itself.

Saya bhi saath jab chor jaye
Aisi hi tanhai šŸ’”

That's exactly what happened in the end. Pakeezah lost her shadow (Humza) to emerge stronger and more fierce.

@Friends : I read all your comments about the end. I share the same feelings and don't agree with the end.
Everyone is Tanha in the end, the characters as well the viewers. There is so much void, something is missing.
Yes, DAZZ, you are totally right about the above highlighted interpretation.

Since yesterday I am thinking about this.
Somewhere you have to come to terms to the fact.
Finally trying to see from director and writer's POV:
Makers took very sensitive subject and seems to have done thorough research on the subject.
I feel that we don't have much idea about the sentiments, thoughts, religion, and culture of the land where this show airs.
It wouldn't not have been the the best to show Humza and Pakeeza together and Kinza as a divorcee.
Person like Humza giving divorcee doesn't seem to go well with the character sketch and hence this end. Writers are pretty good here. I can't come up with any other reason for the end.

Guys, I've started another drama that's currently airing on Hum TV. It isn't intense like YKS or AHT, but it many important life lessons to be learned from its story and its characters. I've binged watched 12 episodes up until now and I'm honestly loving the story. I'm not a fan of either of the male leads, but the female protagonist and antagonist of the show are certainly worth watching for their performances. 😊 I think some of you might enjoy this show, its message, and its simplicity. 😳

PS - MR is following the antagonist of this show on Instagram. šŸ˜‰ I'm almost positive he watches Pak shows, otherwise he wouldn't be familiar with any of these actresses. Need a change of pace after the disappointment of AHT. šŸ˜•

Thanks DAZZ! After AHT need some light drama. There is Parchayee, khudgaarz and now this new one to watch. Can watch one at a time šŸ˜†šŸ˜† .

Anything BUT ( killing Humza ) would have been better IMO.

In comparison, atleast Sang e Marmar spared the main characters. The family suffered
but survived.

Anyway, I have been putting off watching Humsafar & want to start now.
So Dazz, before I start, just wanted to make sure it's not another emotional rollercoaster show.
I don't think I can handle one more after AHT & its disastrous ending ...šŸ˜›

Also with Mishal's comeback nowhere in sight, I want to at least feast on
Fawad's performance ...šŸ˜‰. he is so classy & charming onscreen ā¤ļø
I have yet to watch Kapoor & Sons.šŸ˜›

Mish, I hate to disappoint you but Humsafar is one roller coaster of emotional turmoil. It's nowhere near lighthearted unfortunately. The first half of the drama is very slow paced, so don't be alarmed if you find it slightly boring. šŸ˜› I guarantee you'll become a fan of Mahira Khan's after Humsafar. She's a very capable actress. Kapoor and Sons is definitely worth the watch! šŸ‘šŸ¼ The whole ensemble did a wonderful job enacting their characters. 😊

Ami, you're right about it not being a part of Humza's character sketch to consider an annulment after all of the compromises he made to compensate in his way for his sins. This is why I had thought of Kinza being killed off in the finale. There was no other way of reuniting Humza with Pakeezah. I think the message or theme of AHT was empowerment and strength for women who face the same circumstances in their society. These women are kinless and lack the guardianship of a father or a husband. The message of empowerment was conveyed, but all of the characters were left miserable at the end. 😭

I would hold off on Parchayee and especially Khudgarz in that case. Both are emotionally daunting stories that will leave you speechless at times. 😭 Parchayee has left me teary-eyed more than once. šŸ˜” You might actually like Khamoshi, Ami. So many lessons to learn from this show about the real world.

Haha Avani, take your time & pick. šŸ˜‰
But when you start watching Sang e marmar, be prepared
emotionally, stay strong and mostly watch it for this brilliant actor, Norman Ijaz šŸ‘šŸ¼ &
some powerful dialogues thru' out the story.
I am not watching Khudgarz but looking forward to all your discussions.šŸ˜›
