Actually Aalia and Chammi are not sisters. Aalia is the main character and she has an older sister. And yes there is a character named Safdar as well, whom Aalia's sister loved. The sister dies later on. That incident impacts Aalia's thinking a lot. Jameel is Aalia's cousin (chachoo ka beta if I remember correctly) and I think chammi was this orphan girl living at Jameel's place. I read this novel a long time back so the details are a bit hazy. I just remember the main story.
