Do watch 'Mora Piya'. The story relates to a very sensitive subject and it is told very elegantly.

Also for all Fawad Khan fans, if they can get "Satrangi" from somewhere then do watch it. It is a light fun watch and as a bonus it has Agha ali as well. Here are some clips from Satrangi (excuse the video quality).

Ohh and if you are interested in watching classics that is 90's era dramas then do watch "Nijaat". This drama is a comprehensive comment on the injustices and social issues plaguing our society even now. It is entertainment and awareness/education bundled together. It is directed by Sahira Kazmi and written by Asghar Nadeem Syed so you can guess what a masterpiece it would be. Cast includes people like Marina Khan, Noman Ijaz, Atiqa Odho, Sajid Hassan, Huma Nawab and many more. In my personal opinion this drama should be included in social sciences curriculum.

Mora Piya is the worst Pakistani drama I have ever watched 😆

Noone liked that drama. I never saw a single good comment about it when it was airing. People were hating on it. :P
Well, in my opinion, the story was good. The drama could have been a hit if only it was directed properly.

It's your opinion, fair enough. No need to personally attack.

Mora Piya had a great topic to discuss..however it was weakly presented.
Anjum Shehzad is not the best of directors in my books. He could extract the best out of Adeel. I'm perhaps the biggest Adeel fan you'd come across around here yet Mora Piya goes down as one of his most cringeworthy performances. I'm sorry if the male lead fails to deliver up to my expectations I do not tout that show as praiseworthy. He could've done so much better yet he fell flat many times.

Moreover, Aamina Sheikh was really the only good performer in that show. The direction was awful in my opinion. The story dragged like hell at times..it was just repetitive. It started off well and then it kind of declined. I kind of don't even rate Mora Piya in my books at all. I give Aamina props for her amazing acting but that's about it. I love Adeel and really like Aamina and that's more or less the only reason why I watched the show. Otherwise it had potential to do so much better.

Roag and Pani Jaisa Pyar had similar issues to discuss and did very well with the audiences. They were presented and handled better..needless to say most of the performances and in particularly the direction in both of these shows were top notch when compared to Mora Piya. Having a bold topic discuss is one thing..yet depicting it in the best possible manner is a completely other thing altogether. To say only advanced intellectual folks could understand such a show is baffling and uncalled for. I appreciate the effort to tell such a story..but the show itself was weak sauce because of other things that are there to present a story. I don't think you need an Albert Einstein to figure out such things.

That is again a personal point of view. In my personal opinion Pani Jaisa Pyaar is not worth a watch. Roag is good. I do not have any problem with it and I am happy with people liking it or disliking it.

Pani Jaisa Pyaar's basic concept was same old "Romance". It was not something new. Mora Piya on the other hand dealt with the effects of rape and an illegitimate/unwanted child on the couple as a whole. The basic focus of Mora Piya was not romance or only "larka larki". This is what being intellectually advanced means, to be able to see that Mora Piya's concept was way more advanced and mature than Pani Jaisa Pyaar's concept. I personally do not like Pani Jaisa Pyaar. It did not grab my attention at all. I stopped watching it after an episode or so. Mora Piya on the other hand did.

But having said all this I do not have any problem with people liking Pani Jaisa Pyaar. It is their choice. People are welcome to watch and suggest it to others if they like and I will suggest what I like. Ab main nai kisi ki kanputti pai bandooq tou rakhi nahin hai kai woh zuroor hi mora piya daikhay.

A little piece of information:
Pani Jaisa Pyaar has a stolen concept. It is based on the novel "Suhagan" by Salma Kanwal or at least big chunk of that drama is completely stolen from that novel but producers/script writers/director of that drama failed to acknowledge it. I already knew this fact even after watching first episode but just to the content of people's heart here there are other people out there who said the same thing. Read comment 64 on this page. Ohh and I love reading the comments about Pani Jaisa Pyaar on this page. People are thoroughly trashing this drama.

You don't need to be intellectually advanced, just more open minded about Mora Piya's concept.
The concept was really good, very close to reality but it was so badly conceived that it took the charm away. The whole show seemed forced and dragged and the direction was not good either.

As star said that this was Adeel's worst performance so far, and i completely agree. He made me cringe. Amna was brilliant, the concept was great, just the execution was seriously lacking!

Another suggestion from my side is "Taar-e-Ankaboot". It is currently going on Geo and it is 11 episodes old. I really like the fact that Pakistani dramas are trying out different genre. Although there have been dramas made on to black magic before but this one is more gripping and I would use the same term again for this drama that is making people freak out here which is "intellectually advanced" as per my personal opinion. 😉

Here is the review that got me interested into this drama.
