This was a lovely interview, which I had been waiting for since long. I am glad that I got to learn more about this wonderful lady and her nice way of thinking (such interesting info about her is very difficult to come by unfortunately 😆). Sanam's replies are straightforward, but they are oozing of honesty and simplicity, and yet having an attraction which is amazing. Oh boy, how I admire the strength of her perseverance, dedication and talent! I bet it is an inspiration to many girls out there. 😃

Oh, so her next project is to perform in "Grease the musical". 😆Hope it will be shown on TV, I really want to see her versatility in that kind of role. Kashaf is her as well as my favourite character too. She played that character to the T. Her character was what got me so interested in ZGH and because of which I became her fan.

Btw, she never seems to forget mentioning about her Urdu knowledge in her interviews. 😆 In my honest opinion, she delivers the onscreen dialogues more than decently good, but when talking to media and people offscreen it is obvious that she is going to prefer English as she is fluent in it. She should not worry too much though, as with time comes experience and with experience comes knowledge. 😎

And yeah MD, keep looking for more interesting stuff related to Sanam. 😉 😆

A lovely comment SB, u said it all in your comment. She's very talented and dedicated girl who doesn't even feel shy about mentioning her weak point which is her urdu, but no one can say that she's not good at it, she's always so clear in her words and dialogue delivery is one of her best quality too. I don't need to add anything now u said it all.

Don't worry SB I'll try to keep u guys update 😳

I loved reading this interview. Thanks for sharing. She's so lovely. I was sure that Kashaf is a favorite character of hers, it has be because a.) it's her best performance yet and b.) it made such an impact on her and most of the audiences. I love how casual and down to earth this girl is. By far one of the most awesome, genuine, and real actresses out there right now.

well here's the written for those who arent able to read :D enjoy :D

How did you get involved in acting?
Sanam- its just something i've always been interested as a kid.i took part in all the school plays, lots of private production plays,I was part of Black fish, comedy troupe,i modeled..i was involved in so many things that tv dramas were bound to happen.

Are there any new projects you're working on?
Sanam-I will start rehearsing for grease the musical form the first of october,we go on stage second week of january.I am playing Rizzo.

What has been your proudest moment so far?
Sanam- When a lady reconsidered getting her 14 years old daughter married after she saw the first 4 episodes of ZGH.I felt proud to be part of a project that could have an impact like that on people.

Have you ever had any really low moments wher you've thought about giving up?

Sanam-I have thought about wrapping it up many times.,,but not because of low point,,because I've other plans!!

Any personal ambitions yet unattained ?

Sanam-One is the process of being attained, working with children, and learning how to sing properly is yet to be attained.

What is your proffesional philosophy?

Sanam-Respect time and everyone you work with.

What would you still like to achieve?

Sanam-Many many things.i don't think I have achieved anything yet.

What is the hardest part of doing what you do?

Sanam-Keeping fans happy ,getting pictures taken, trying to keep things private.

Any behind the scenes anecdotes you can share?

Sanam-Me and my own version of urdu.it seems to crack people up behind the scenes!!

How different is it to act on tv show and to act in a theatre play?

Sanam-In a play you get lots of rehearsal time,so you get to develop a character and keep adding layers to it till you really become the character .There is nothing like the energy of a live audience. For Tv,things happen a lot faster, its harder to keep track your emotional chart for the character etc. because for television you shoot according to the locations... not in a coherent sequence of events.

Is there an area which you would like to improve?

Sanam-I don't know if I would I like too.. I definitely need to learn to play more feminine softer perhaps more romantic characters.

What kind of roles you performed throughout your carreer .Are you satisfied with them?

Sanam-I've usually played very headstrong women.Women on a mission, women who cant be told to do what to do often, who don't like to hear no,,who arent afraid of fighting for what they believe in.I,ve loved all my characters on stage and TV.

Which has been your favouite character that you have performed?

Sanam-Honestly I've had soft spot for all of them. But if I must point them out I'd say Roxie hart on stage and Kashaf on television.

What are your thougths on your characters personality?strengths??weaknesses/.

Sanam-There is little bit of me that I see in all of themI admire the confidence and strength in some to be outspoken and honest.i wish some were less ungrateful and impatient.I drew from their strengths and relate to their weaknes sometimes.

Do you ever think that you could have done a little bit better in any particular role?

Sanam-All the time.Ofcourse!!

What have you learned from the people that you have worked with throughout your career?Do you have any mentors?

Sanam-I have learnt to give myself more time.I've learnt to take care of myself more.To divide my attention between appearance and performance and not just on the performance! I've learnt to be less shy as well. I have many mentors. Some are fellow actors who are noe friends and som e are directors who had great tips.

Do you think that you have matured as an actor?

Sanam-With all the support and mentors around me,Yes I have definitely matured as an actor compared to few years ago!!

Is it true that you have change yourself in order to be accepted into the entertainment business?

Sanam-Not at all.I havent changed a thing about myself except wear a little makeup before I leave the house now!!

What is the most precious piece of art that you own?

Sanam-If you're asking me and not my parents,i would have to say a painting made for me by my 3 years old niece.
