a) Work -ME (There are some more. Everyone is S.ki bachcha at some particular times. All are my dear kutti saithans, though.)
b) Home - ME, I mean it. And..My son, when he was a thuru thuru boy. (After all, his mom is a big saithaan, you know.)
c) IF - ME, ME, ME...


3. Do you think GPS is a good invention ( 😉 )(U know why I am asking this)

I know why you are asking me this kostin. :) namma secret pOttu ipdi udaikkiriyemmaa. ok, since jas asked me to tell some secret here, I would reveal it. I would get lost even with the GPS. When it says, turn right, I would be in the left most lane and get lost somehow.
GPS is a good invention when my husband drives. I can sleep or read. 😃

4. Tell me about something funny that happened in your life that you can never forget.

funny ya? It is kind of embarrassing for me. Everyone laughed at me when I told them. neengalum kindal pannunga. Having grown up all my life in Madurai, I never knew about the auto meter system in Madras. Once I had to pick up my grandma from the train station. My husband dropped me at the train station and asked me to take an auto and go home with my grandma.

We both get into the auto. Here we go, the driver pulls the meter down. It started from the minimum amount. I told my grammi secretly that the driver was cheating us, knowing that we r not from Madras and we should be smart and pay him less than what it showed on the meter.(My grammi has the same knowledge I have about autos.) So, we came home, I gave him the amount minus the minimum and he asked me why I was paying him less. I told him that he cannot cheat me coz the meter started from 7 or 10Rs (I forgot the amount) and advised him not to cheat innocent people like me. Luckily, he looked like an educated boy and asked, "munne pinne auto le eriyirukkiyaa? yaarte venaa kettuttu dhuttu kodu. naan yemaathalai. vere auto driver kitte venaa kelu." Instead of arguing with him, I paid him and gave him a piece of advice.."kaasu venumaa kettu vaangikkanum. ipdi yemaatha koodaadhu". Thank goodness, onnum romba pesaame nondhu poyi kilambittaan. What would have happened if a problematic driver came that day? husband kitte nalla vaangi kattikitten. idhu kooda theriyaadhaa? evlo vaatti auto le poyirukke? I have used the auto few times but my husband or father-in-law used to pay always. :)

The first thing I would do is...find a shady and clean spot (place).
I can't tell what I would do next, since you asked me only about the first thing. 😛

Being sick is just a matter of a couple of days. Take 2 days off from work and rest. We rarely give the much needed rest to our body. So grab this God given opportunity. These two days are for you and you alone ..to read or listen to music or if you like, watch your favourite movie. :) You will feel like a refined person full of energy after these 2 days.

First of all, let me tell you this. I DO NOT HAVE even a single enemy. So, I would ask for happiness and peace for all in the world.

9. Why do you think TV-sob-serials have become so darned popular in India?

People use serials to vent out their stress. By crying along with the characters, they let out their sorrow. If they cannot scold anyone publicly, they get satiated by scolding the directors. They get invloved with the charatcers too much coz sometimes they may relate to what that charatcer is going through. :)

10. Do you think Valentine's day is more romantic before getting married or after the vows?

I would say, after the vows..

you are yet to know me. If I live in the 10th floor, I would have made all the first floor tenants as my best friends. Also, the maintenance guys would be my best friends. (I have lived in apartments.) :)
If I am stranded with shopping bags, I would knock on a friend's apartment in the first floor and will request her to keep my things till the elevator gets fixed. If I have some other chores outside, I would go out. Or, I would sit with my friend for a hot cup of coffee in her house, if she is free.
Next, I would call the maintenance guy to take care of it immediately.
If nothing works, I will ask my hubby to come home and help me with the bags.

12. You have won a million dollars in lotto...how will you spend it?

ukkaandhu yosikka vendiya vishayam.

(I may not want the money coz I don't like any money that comes without working for it.)

I would appreciate him very much for cooking for me. I would definitely choke it down and mention few months later in a very polite way.

I am very sensitive in that regard. I will try to find out what my fault was and would aplogise to that respected person and try to rectify my mistake.


5. If someone of the same gender came up to you and kissed you on both cheeks like they do in Europe, would you be freaked out or would you go along with it?
I would go alongwith it, if it is their custom of greeting.
After coming to this country, I found the hugging part by ladies and men a bit uncomfortable and now I am used to it from my lady friends. Somehow, I would avoid men, though.

6. Have you ever been shouted to or whistled at by a complete stranger (as a means of flirting or getting your attention) while walking in a public place? how did you handle that?
No. Bus conductor whistle thaan ketrukken. :)
Anyway, if someone does it just to flirt, I would ignore him totally.

7. What is the most insulting gift a woman can recieve from her mother-in-law? or give???
A cook book with recipes for the basic dishes you cook everyday.

8. Do you like to receive those long holiday letters from relatives who go on about every minutia in their life over the past year or just a plain old holiday card?
I would love the long holiday letters. Nowadays it is all email and pictures. There is one neighbour of mine, who writes letters for all the gifts I give her and also writes from her vacationing spots. We still get letters from my father-in-law which we love to read.
