:) RP, sorry. I came yesterday but was in a hurry.

Okay, onto the topic.

How much are we abusing the nature? - Abuse is an understatement, no?

One of the main reason for the loss in the tragedy , is the ignorance and erring of the Government bodies, not taking the warning signals seriously.

The Garwhal area has been destructed rampantly by building those hydro electric plants on Alaknandha and Bhagirathi.

In the name of urbanization, in the name of improving tourism , in the name of employment opportunities, we are playing with nature? And when Mother Nature decides to take it out human abilities fail? And why were the warning signals ignored? Hindus believe Mother earth to be a mother and so we thought that she will just tolerate whatever we do? Ok, after this tragedy, have we learnt our lesson? That is another moot point, eh?

Nice topic!
What goes around comes around. We are killing Earth and we don't realise we are indirectly killing ourselves - one big irony!
Only when it is at the end and we have lost the Earth will we realise and regret.
