Resham Dunkh from August 14 onSTAR One

Producer JD Majethia and writer Aatish Kapadia are back on STAR One with a new daily soap Resham Dunkh, Monday to Thursday at 9.30 pm. A family drama, the serial is based on a novel by the same name written by Aatish. Before the novel, Resham Dunkh, which means silken bite, was first serialised in a publication. "It was so popular that later it was converted into a novel," informs JD. The basic storyline is about how life changes in a family with the arrival of a child. "It explores relationships and at the same time has an element of intrigue," says the producer. Starring Sumeet Raghavan, Raahil Azim who is the main protagonist, and Puneet Vasishth as siblings, with Mouli Ganguly as Raahil's wife, Disha Vakhani as Puneet's wife, the serial boasts of a multi starcast. "For the first time you will see Apara Mehta in a completely different role," promises JD who jests that he will increase her role the moment she doles out more dates. The others in the cast include Dimple Shah, Sulbha Deshpande and Rajeev Mehta.

Those who have already read the novel can also look for new twists in the storyline assures JD. "We have a definite begining, middle and end. But we will be introducing new characters and tracks along the way," he informs. The serial replaces Heartbeat on STAR One
