What the rains mean to these TV stars
In the middle of June, with the monsoons settled in, we ask TV actors who rarely see the light of day with their daily shoots, whether the rains get them down or up -- and what their favourite rain song is.
Tasneem Sheikh (Mohini of Kyunki)
I live and die for the rains! I wish I could stay home with a huge mug of tea and watch the drops splatter. I have a beautiful balcony and I love sitting there through a spell of showers. My rain song is Rim Jjhim Run Jhun.
Iqbal Khan (Angad of Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai)
Rains make me gloomy after the disaster a couple of years ago when the city drowned. Before that I loved the rains and I perhaps still do when it rains in starts and stops. The song I love is Aaj Rapat from Namak Halal. But why just Bollywood, even Madonna has sung a beautiful song called Rain!
Sai Anand (Ananya of Ek Ladki Anjani Si)
I look forward to the rains. They make me happy and I love being wet: but a cup of tea is necessary for comfort. Ab ke saawan aise barse by Shubha Mudgal is my favourite song and I hear it whenever I am home and it's coming down.
Keerti Gaikwad (Chandni of Saat Phere)
I hated the monsoon when I moved to Mumbai because I had to travel in trains and buses. The rains inevitably delayed these and that wasn't good for my mood. Now that my struggling days are behind me, I appreciate the rains and I think it's the most romantic season. My rain songs are Bheegi Bheegi raton mein, and Rim jhim run jhun.
Parakh Madan (Suman of Saathi Re)
Rains lift my mood though they make me eat a lot! I love the greenery which the rains leave around us. I love Rim jhim run jhun and I hear it every time it rains.
Poonam Joshi (Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki)
Rains tend to change my mood. If I am shooting, I get irritated with rains because of the attendant traffic. But if I am at home I take a cup of tea to the balcony and wish I were sitting with all my
friends. Every rain song is special to me.
Aamir Ali (Saumya of Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki)
Rain relax me because I hate the heat. When the monsoons descend my irritation disappears. My rain song is the classic Pyaar hua ikraar hua hai.
