UNDIVIDED FAMILY: A rare private moment from the Ambani family
TV scriptwriter Rekkha Modi is now moving towards the big screen. Modi has recently signed a deal with a big production house (she refuses to name it) to pen the screenplay for a film based on the Ambani saga.

Modi says her script is almost ready, with three options for the climax. "I have almost finished writing the script, which took me around three months to complete. The star cast will be fixed once the climax is passed by the producers," she says.

Modi recently wrote a dummy script for Sunday Mid Day (Batwara: Apnon aur sapnon ka, on June 19), based on the family drama. Impressed with that exercise, the producers told her to keep their screenplay as melodramatic as her Mid Day write up. "They liked what I did with Sunday Mid Day and wanted to do something similar, with more drama and twists and turns."

When asked about the scripting process Modi says, "I wrote it keeping Deewar in mind — with two brothers and a mother angle."

So who does she think fits should play the role of Mukesh and Anil? "I was thinking of Ajay Devgan as Mukesh and Shah Rukh Khan as Anil when I wrote the script. As far as the mother goes, the only woman I can think of is Nirupa Roy; unfortunately, she isn't with us anymore."

This is Modi's second stint at scripting a film. She has also written a film titled Charkha, which will hit the floors in August. Currently, she is working on Star Plus's Kasautii Zindagi Kii and has several other projects under production.

Mukesh: "Tum babuji ke khoon-paseeney ki kamayee ko yoon har kisi par zaya nahin kar sakte. Babuji hamesha raj-neeti sey door rahe aur tum raj-neeti mein Amar hona chahte ho."

Anil: "Bhaiya, meri apni nazar hai, apna nazariya, apna pyaar…"

Mukesh: "Tum unka pyaar nahin unka hathiyar ho. Museebat mein apne hi kaam aate hain."

Anil: "Yehi toh main bhi keh raha hoon. Apne kabhi museebat nahin bante."

Mukesh: "Aur na hi museebat ko ghar mein laate hain. Sitaaron sey ghar nahin chalta."

Anil: "Lekin ghar sey sitarein toh chalte hain."

Mukesh: "Haan, agar ghar ka chirag salamat rahe. Darta hoon kahin ghar ke chiragsey hi ghar na jal jaaye ek din. Tumhe aisa nahin lagta hai, hum batne lage hain?"

Anil: "Batt jaayein… toh accha
