I think,Kartik has all the reasons to believe madhavi.

*Karthik has himself seen so many times Raji talking to kamal over phone and in person saw them sharing lunch...

*Raji herself told Karthik that she might do anything with kamal...naanga onna pesuvom sirippom sutthuvom.

* She fought with karthik when he poured water on kamal; but when kamal did the same to karthik, though she felt bad she didn't express it to karthik.( so Karthik doesn't know about her feelings)

*even after counseling she is still strong in her decision of divorce and said the same to Karthik.

*though they shared food on their wedding day,she confirmed him that she is still determined in her decision of divorce.

*And Karthik thinks Madhavi as childish and might have not expected that she will lie and can go to such an extent.

If we can say that Karthik believing madhavi is his stupidity...we can also say that Raji believing Madhavi is also her stupidity.

Raji too has a valid reasons to believe madhavi..

*She has seen Karthik sharing food with madhavi and K asking madhavi to bring him food everyday.

*She has seen madhavi telling aswin that karthik is giving chocolates and treats for her.Raji believed her words.

*karthik didn't deny whenever Raji confirmed about divorce.

*Karthik didn't express his feelings for Raji either.

Both K and R are sailing in the same boat..cant blame only one.
